    i feel like Rich has nothing left to prove. he's done it all and has built a wonderful life for him, his family and the Mayhem family. he's a great example of feeling content with his accomplishments and also taking time to build other athletes; like Haley.

    PLEASE have Sevan do behind the scenes. Some of my favorites moments from the past Games came from those videos!

  • @JulietteNov

    Huh, I was watching a video on the PFAA and the professionalism of CrossFit and this was the next video that cycled. I thought that this rewind of 10 days before the Games was an interesting interview given Lazar’s passing and the PFAA’s contention with Dave’s role. Sevan, I was a little freaked out by your ominous reference to the actor in the Black Panther in the intro. I was half way through it before I realized that this was a video from 3 years ago.
    Nevertheless, it was a great video… a lot of interesting points.
    Thank you for your presence in the CrossFit space!

    Good interview except the comments on Rich Froning Jr. Castro doesn't understand how its hard for the body and the sacrifices that family has to make for an individual athlete. Castro should say thank you for what Rich has done and continues to do for the sport.

    This was a great interview. I have so much more respect for Dave Castro. I liked him to begin with but I really appreciate what he does more now. I'm so pumped for the 2020 games now!!!
    In my opinion Rich has nothing left to prove. He doesn't have the passion for individual competition anymore and wouldn't give it 100% (I'm pretty sure he said that in an interview with Craig Richey). Matt will win 6 in a row. Tia might win 7 in a row.

    I had watched this before the Games, but came here just to rewatch and tie things back up. Castro is a fucking genius. The degree of his commitment to his craft (and to secrecy) is world class. With Eric at the helm I thing his skills will shine even brighter.
    As for his Rich comments, I politely disagree. Rich is entering a very unknown space with Haley, and I think that he will be responsible to usher in the new generation of multi year championships through her. And I will love to see that happening.
    Thanks Sevan, I missed your humor!

    Dave calling out rich is ridiculous, Rich has nothing to prove, and has earned evey right to live "comfortable ". From what I have gathered Rich wants to give his time to his family and not to impress Dave Castro.

    • @Serit0nin
      @Serit0nin 4 роки тому +2

      I'm not disagreeing with you. But I think one of the points Dave was trying to make is that he STILL trains all the time anyways. And he still competes in Team competitions. What's the difference between that and competing in Individual? I see where Dave is coming from on that point. But even if Rich had zero titles, he would still have the right to live his life the way he wants to.

    • @870Meg
      @870Meg 4 роки тому +1

      I agree with you Jacob. He also indicated Rich’s priorities changed and his time constraints to train as an individual. But Dave would of like to see Rich compete as an individual to see who would get the 5th title win.

    How can Castro be in charge of programming events and lifts, when I've watched him lift and see how horrible his form is. They don't truly care about keeping people safe during these competitions, as you can tell by these challenges as people just get completely sloppy with everything that they do. And then these people think that they're good enough to teach others.
    It stopped being about fitness and health when they realized they could make money.
