My all time favourite busker , he has the most amazing voice , I booked him to play at my husband’s 50 th birthday party, he was amazing.

I used to live in Bath a lifetime ago. Lovely city. Im now in Tokyo and sometimes think about the morning light and the mist across the valley and of course the cider.
It always amazes me that folks can be so blind to the genius standing in front of them. Thank God that the genius doesn't need the blind to be seen:-)
This is a tricky song to play. It's in 7/4, the lyrics are pure genius. And the guy is singing and playing beautifully, only to largely ignored.
I mean people are going about their day. I honestly dislike comments like yours which infer we need to stop in our tracks because some guy decided to play in the streets for attention.
Unless your singing with Autotune and repeat the same line over and over and sound like a child no one under 35 listens .. they’re staring at phones

@@Ritzi66 Sorry, take a look at the video and you will notice that several of the people walking by and ignoring this admittedly brilliant performer are definitely not of the auto tune/video game generation.

Excellent street performance. He captures the essence of this beautiful Gabriel piece.
It became obvious right after the first few strums on that guitar that it would be worth watching.

I spent more time watching buskers on Beale St in Memphis than I did in bars listening to paid bands. Buskers are some of the most talented musicians you’ll ever have the pleasure to watch.
This guy is fantastic.
This guy is the consumate troubador! And people are just walking by or standing around yapping like nothing's happening.

The fact we're here enjoying this is because we know it's good.. Sadly other people seem to fail to recognise this and are more concerned about what colour shoes to buy

bumped into Steve busking in Bath yesterday and had a chat. Really appreciates his fans and even gave me a little guitar lesson on Solsbury Hill. Lovely chap.
My God. This was simply beautiful.
Particularly cool to me as a Canadian fan of Peter Gabriel, who only briefly visited the UK once about 50 years ago in my early teens, that this performance is actually happening in Bath, very likely within eyeshot of Solsbury Hill itself, on a clear day.

Mr. Robinson really does this song justice. It has an uncommon time signature and he absolutely nails it. Unfortunately it appears that the passers by are totally oblivious.

If you can find the album Honey Pot by Innes Sibun, this guy is all over that music in a huge way. My very favorite album in the last 20+ years because of the great songwriting, musicianship, and this guy singing. Epic.
This song is timeless. It sounds as fresh and relevant today as it did in 1977. Most songs you can tell by listening to them what decade it's from. This song 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's?? if you didn't know you couldn't tell.

This, in a nutshell, is what is wrong with the Human race. Almost everyone who appears in this video is so pre-occupied with their mundane day to day rituals that they either refuse to notice or, quite possibly, are unable to appreciate a true and pure talent. Even when it is put right in front of their faces. It's a shame really. I am a musician too. And I also play and sing this song. And I'm good. This guy is great. Truly great.....

I agree. But I also just witnessed an amazing sound, a talented man's expression. Keep your head up. People love this stuff. It's the personality of a city... none of them know how lucky they are to be free. What a perfect song to mark freedom. Keep playing and singing please. God bless.

Nice detail at the start. Many a busker would just batter into the chords. Surely the best acoustic version of this anywhere. 7/4 time signature and he keeps the rhythm tight but just loose enough. He's not messing about with a D28 out there! Great.
