Lamu or Lamu Town is a small town on Lamu Island , which in turn is a part of the Lamu Archipelago in Kenya. Situated 341 kilometers by road northeast of Mombasa. I visited the island for the first time and here was my first impression.

Lamu is an exotic paradise waiting to be explored. With lamu port there will be an explosion of more developments and people visiting the island discovering a new place and settling. Especially foreign tourists looking for exotic places to live and visit the real estate in lamu will only go up. Lamu port will be the best thing that ever happened for the people there. More jobs, more tourists, more developments especially in those islands that have low foot print. Watch this space.

Lamu is an archepelago consisting of shela, manda and siyu (need clarification) lamu town being one of the oldest town in country is a world UNESCO heritage site that dates back to the 15th century the buildings old infrastructure are well preserved with swahili and Arabic architecture and culture. Lamu is easily accessible by road if from nairobi you can use Nairobi, thika garissa Hola bura route whichs 10hours journey
True. However the road isn't so safe coz of Bandits and plenty of Landmines.
@@LIVKENYA there are buses plying Nairobi mpeketoni via garrisa route daily busscar, tawakal and Mombasa Raha use this route daily

Haiyaa yaani even after boarding a plane still you have to take the boat, thought it was direct and that's why I never want to go there because of fear of the water, but unajua kunitamanisha
There are usually many passengers aboard the boat, so you will feel more comfortable when sailing. After afew boat trips you will start loving the experience. They are quite safe

Lamu is Amazing... How much from MIA to Manda Airstrip and the boat to Lamu island?
The flight from Mombasa to Manda Airstrip costs Ksh 5000, then the boat fare from Manda to Lamu costs Ksh 100-1000 depending on whether you will have hire the boat alone or with other passengers.
Oh is that bridge in Lamu..??? I didn't know it but if it's a new one then you'd better teach the public in general not litter on the bridge as they have been doing in Liwatoni.. it's absolutely disgusting seeing all the trashes on the bridge....🙈🙈
