    I am sure glad I came across Dazel's channel. You two are a breath of fresh air compared to many other vloggers I watch about the Philippines. Your attitudes towards how to live there is refreshing to say the least. I'll be in Iloilo this Novem"ber" and perhaps we can arrange to meet for a cup of coffee or go to Jolly Bee's for lunch (on me). I know you live on the other side of the island, but a bus ride to your town or to Kalibo wouldn't be out of the way too much. Being an aged 40 year old trapped in a 74 year old body, I can still get around. Not sure if I want to drive there, much crazier than here in Texas.

      Thank you for the kind words our friend. If you come to Kalibo; we would love to take you on a tour of our town and surrounding areas. Maybe a trip to New Washington Aklan for fresh seafood. Famous for fresh oysters; 30 pesos (about .50 cents U.S.) per kilo. Coffee or Jollibee sounds good! Ceres air conditioned bus (yellow bus) is a comfortable ride from Iloilo to Kalibo (4-hour ride). We can pick you up at the Ceres terminal in Kalibo. Driving here definitely much crazier than in Texas. My sister lives in Houston and I was stationed in San Antonio TX for 4 years. I miss Texas BBQ. 😁 Take care our friend.

    Hi guys, I really enjoyed the mini travel vlog. Marie and I really like Vita Coco because it's one of the few ways we can get good-tasting coconut water. We usually stock up whenever she goes to the Filipino market, but lots of times, they are sold out because the early Asians beat us to the punch. I can't wait to see the marching bands again in 2025. Take care our friends and we love you all.

    Enjoyed you shopping video. However, your prices seem high. By way of example chicken here in Prescott is 99 cent per lb., vita coconut water 1.89. Seen inflation has had a significant impact on food prices.

    • @dazeltv1351
      @dazeltv1351  15 днів тому +1

      Thank you my friend. There will always be items that cost the same or even more in the Philippines than in the U.S. But, overall food prices are cheaper here. Quality and selection for meat and produce better in the U.S.; but also cost more. That’s why expats tend to spend more for food here because they want the western quality. Example: good quality steaks. You will pay a premium here if you want steak because they will most likely be imported from Australia. That’s why I no longer eat steak. 😁

      I've been thinking of doing a driving tips video. I would call driving in the Philippines as organized chaos. I don't drive in the big cities like Manila and Cebu City; too stressful in my opinion. I love driving our car in Aklan province because we don't have the traffic of the cities. Riding our tricycle, Bumblebee, is so much fun! I never rode a motorbike in my life before we got Bumblebee. Now, I understand the love of people for motorbikes.

    • @dazeltv1351

      My biggest mistake is buying a used car in the province. I bought a used Honda Accord; car was a total headache. No Honda dealership in Aklan province. I had to find a local mechanic to fix anything. We bought a brand new Toyota at the dealership here in Aklan in 2018. The best car ever! I can get our Toyota serviced 5 minutes away from our house. You might be able to get away with buying a used car in a city with a dealership with the car brand you get. But, not in the provinces. You will be at the mercy of a local mechanic when anything goes wrong with the car.
