"Seems like a massive waste of research and technology to me, but I digress." You do remember we're talking about the Allagans right? I also love the fact that Nero has saved the world like three times at this point because he's just too petty to let Cid one up him.
( 6.0 SPOILERS !!!! ) You sure? You really sure? Alright! You know what’s ahead! One other note about the ending: When Nero tosses his little energy device, a Morse code message beeps out: “IT’S ALL WRONG”… Which is exactly what Unsundered Amon’s bird daughter says to the wol right before she goes Full Emo! So it’s very heavily implied the energy Nero was tracking the entire time was Dynamis!
While we're swapping I just got to azim steppe on an alt and when signing up for the nadaam the Mol leader Temalun actually gives you quite the prophecy that at the time I was like..yeah sure the power of friendship, er w/e but with EW context it hits way differently.
Fun fact: since the Crystal Tower is the only mandatory 24-man raid in the game I for a long time though it was the only one, and that the concept was discarded in future expansions, I only learned otherwise when I was already in Shadowbringers, 2 years later, and a friend told me about a 24-man raid involving Nier Automata. Back then I was kinda rushing the MSQ to catch up with the game and not doing much side content at all aside from Relic Weapons from ARR and Heavensward.
I'm a sprout that's just making my way through heavensward, and I gotta be real I completely skimmed the storyline for crystal tower while in discord calls because I wanted the alliance roulette. Thank you for summing it up!
Honestly, I was shocked CT wasn't required back in HW - I know they made lines for Nero in 3.5 for if you DIDN'T do it, but really it doesn't make sense without having gone through it. And yes. Just about everything is the Allagans' fault.
Some Endwalker spoilers: At the very end, when Nero throws the scanner into the chasm, it keeps beeping some code, upon further review the code is translated to: IT'S ALL WRONG! Now this is important because who says this? Meteion. Why? Because she still is there trying to warn us of impending doom, but being drowned out by her siblings. I'm glad they made a call back to this, it's crazy good for the story.
Thank YOU for your nice piece of work. Yes those who are playing earlier expansions, you need to pay attention to the raids (if too much just this but idealistically all)
I really appreciate this because is skipped this story. Why? Because I was throwing a fit that this stupid side quest was mandatory before the famous Heavensward expansion.
I was in such a rush to get to Ishgard and unlock machinist I skipped all the the story for the CT. So I didn't get why it was so important the cat boy popped up later.
Maybe what you mean is that allagan tec was instrumental in undoing the 8th umbral calamity so the crystal towers is 1 for 1 against looking at the 4th and 8th but the 7th calamity would tip it back to 2 against 1 for
I thought the S stood for Story and the acronym was Main Fucking Story Quest. Which would be apt, because you can't actually continue the MSQ without doing this.
might have also intended 8th though. i forget HOW Black Rose was originally thought up but if it was based off of Allegan tech/research then yeah, can say Alleg was responsible for 7th AND 8th.
Black Rose was developed in Gyr Abania while Gaius was Legatus of the 14th Legion. No direct connection to allagan text. More likely from leftover research from the mad king during the autumn war as the job quests that go into the autumn bring up poisoning . Proubly in response to the green rot the black shroud "naturally" has as a chemical attack.
Am I missing some info or how are the Alagans responsible for the eighth umbral calamity. I thought one just happened because the first got overflown by light and the whole black rose thingy? Or Is there more info on that
@@marcog.verbruggen674 But you forget, Allag is responsible for everything. Even the Eighth Umbral Calamity that never happened. Because the Empire is responsible for Black Rose and who created the Empire. Emet Selch. And who was responsible for starting Allag. Emet Selch. Thus anything Emet has a hand in connects to Allag.

since soul and blood magic is a thing in this world, his ancestor probably imbued the literal bloodline with the ability to tap into its collective memory at times of need, likely similar to the Echo's ability to tap into Aether to witness past events via resonance.
