    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  4 роки тому +1

      It pulled out the small wood screws holding it in yes. We put small screws expecting the first landings to be rough and this way no damage until the owner gets more used to it

    Great video and flying, when you first started up the turbine you began shaking the aircraft during full throttle test, why is that @Martin Pickering

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  3 роки тому

      Its an oldschool way to break apart any air bubbles in the header tank into smaller ones, and also pust then through the system... hopefully it should clear it all out or flame out then rather than later

    Epic! Is it common practice to have an experienced pilot maiden a new turbine plane?

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  4 роки тому +3

      That is very much personal preference.... In my club, I get 95% of all maidens. Some people want an experienced pilot testing and having best chance of a save if necessary, others feel that if something goes wrong and it blows up half way through the flight, they at least want to have enjoyed it while it lasted lol

  • @stephenwalker3127

    Martin, why do you sometimes give the model a shake by the nose, what are you checking ?

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  4 роки тому

      It can help keep the turbine running, sounds strange right?! Basically will dislodge any air bubbles stuck half way through a fuel line, and will also break up any big bubbles into smaller ones, which can then be sucked through more safely... Basically just helps reduce chances of bubbles, even though shouldn't be necessary if everything is correctly mounted and fuelled (I do it more when I didn't build it myself lol)

    Is this bird Ultra bandit of BVM Jet ?

  • @hotliner2872
    @hotliner2872 4 роки тому +2

    Thank you for not having a "remote controlled pilot figure" waving or moving it's head #dorkyAsFudge! or some other word than Fudge. But nice jet, and even better piloting! Us hotliner guys like to think we're cool because we fly faster and pull more Gs, especially vertically.... but we're only moving < 4 lbs of carbon & batteries through the sky (but we can stay up longer, duration counts ;-). And we have to deal with a lot fewer switches/sequences/etc. Well flown! But please stop, this is getting me interested in turbines...

    • @MartinPickering-PickeringRC
      @MartinPickering-PickeringRC  4 роки тому

      lol, planes are meant to fly, as are jets, I agree, cool nick-nacks are cool, but only if the plane gets into the air! Hotliners are fun, dont see enough of them here in Spain, at least round here...

      @@MartinPickering-PickeringRC Not sure about you, but I fly pretty much daily. There are perishable skills in this world and flying is one of them. Or so I tell my wife, but between you and me ,the "Must Fly Now" feeling helps motivate too too. And I live in Vermont USA (winter is interesting, I thumb fly and have a pair of thick gloves with the thumbs cut out :-).
