    This was a great conversation. Thank you for sharing it. One thing I think you left out at the end (about why a game designer wrote the rules the way they did, in order to emphasize some portion of the game that they really are into) Is how important it is to actually play the game **according to the rules the author provided** before you start to tinker.
    I believe you can learn a lot about the game and about your own preferences by doing so.

      You're absolutely right, playing a game as it was originally intended to be played is a good shout, IMO you need to get used to how the baseline game runs before you can then start tinkering and really made it your own 👍
