Good morning ! Stating the obvious, ancient and modern rivers flowed across all types of bedrock. Knowing how to read the signs for bedrock and gravel helps improve your chances of locating were gold might have dropped out or accumulate. All your video’s have helped thousands of viewers become better miners! You spend so much time filming what you do and why. Thank you for sharing your hard earned knowledge with all of us !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I think the fascination of the Hydraulic pits is the History behind it plus the fact that so much work was done by the Old Timers there that there must have been extraordinary amounts of Gold there for them to find , and surely they didn't get it all . Another great lesson Gary of how you access an area and what you look for , when in a gold producing area , Thanks for sharing the knowledge . Cheers Ned . 👍✔✌
I think the H pits are a good idea too- About 30 plus years ago when I lived on the East Fork in the San Gabriel's , my prospector's told me that H pit tailings were one of the best places to detect, dry wash etc, because back in the 1840's oe whenever they were hydraulicing, they only picked out visible pieces of gold from the sluce's, leaving behind massive amounts of small gold. Now, over the decades, a lot or most of it has been gone through but, I still believe you can hit some good gold depending on where you look and how determined you are. If I had the chance to get back out there, I'd be looking for tailing piles myself. Love the H Pit vids Gary!
It almost hurts my feelings what you call tiny gold Gary haha. You do find some really nice chunky gold most times so its all relative! My biggest piece so far has been 32 milligrams. Great video staying tuned for more!
Thanks Gary. Good solid tips on deciphering a hydro pit. I am going to go back to a pit that I stumbled around in and try to detect it using your clues. I'll post back and let you know how it went. As always, thanks for your insights.
Thanks for the lesson Gary, working the benches and hydro pits can be a bit daunting cause the gold isn't necessarily where the river put it! Looking for the bigger, heavier rocks is a good tip
Thank you for the valuable information Gary. I'm going to do some detecting this weekend and this information will increase my odds of finding some nuggets. 🇺🇸👍⛏️
Not an easy place to find gold. However, great challenges make for great accomplishments. You beat the skunk, moved the scale and shared some solid gravel analysis in the process. Not bad for a claim jumping day. Aloha
You need to go to the most northern point in a hydraulic field. And that's where you going to find your big gold. with that metal. Just a thought Gary have a nice day
They hit areas hard, and grabbed the biggest , most numerous material availible. But there's so much earth to sift through, and over millions of years of shifting rivers and erosion, they still only found a few percent of whats out there.
I'm a new one..😊 (sub)..howdy!...I think you going out there and looking around, and doing your thing is what's up..(so cool) I am going to binge your videos and I betcha you have had a ball doing this, I would love to get up off my @$$ and go have an adventure like you do and one day I may..I hope, hell , I better..😂..Thanks for the video and happy panning, prospecting?(so cool)..🎉❤
Came home last night. Had to do laundry and mow the lawn, got up this morning and it was pouring rain - leave for a few weeks and the weather gets all weird! Back at the ocean now, 10 foot waves with 3 foot cross wind waves. Think I will have a cup of tea and work on the computer - maybe tomorrow. lol
@@TwoToes good morning hope the weather breaks and you get some real nice fish down there. I'll see you when you get back we got some gold to find boss
First back after the vid…the proverbial needle in a haystack but If there’s gold there Gary will find it 🤩 excellent information Gary on how to locate the guys of an old channel thank you for that. I guess the other guys got skunked? And I think if you put the other gold on there you might have hit .2 😬 thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

that area sure was worked by the old timers , at least you beat the skunk. what happened to jeff ? did the skunk spray his pan ??
Yep !!!!! LOL
I take my metal detector to find nails. And my pan to find gold.
Great information. I don't think we have hydraulic pits here in Wyoming. Mostly house dredge stacks. Blessings
Good morning Gary! Thanks for the great video!

100 is too hot for anyone! lol
I want one of those hand rakes. You need to put them on your store so I can buy two. 😆
Gave a custom one away at the nugget dig. Going to try and build a few more, maybe I will do some kind of give away.
@@TwoToes That would be great. 👍🏻 I saw someone get that at the Hunt. I was definitely jealous.
Better than a bunch of square nails 👍💚💛❤️

Gary, are you trying to avoid telling us that you threw away the little gold because you didn’t have a snuffle bottle?
Got to leave some seed gold!
