I was born in 68 and lived there till 2008 . Ive been living in Spain for 15 yrs . Thanks for bringing back memories of my old life . Its sad seeing the outdoor market so sparse . It was always really busy .

I also agree Ashton council should be ashamed of what they have done to this once great market and market town . The council have facilitated the big shops and disowned the small shopsandstall owners . Plus theere so called traffic planning is a joke they put cycle lanes in about 8 months agoe on Stockport road. I have seen 12 bikes actualy us them????? It says it all so they put double yellow lines in and the Asian just ignore them but as soon asawhite man pulls up he isgivena ticket . Sick of ashton
