I used to do LCY to Berlin every couple of weeks a few years ago for business. I totalled about 40 flights back and forth within a normal year (52 weeks). Loved it every time, LCY is such an efficient airport, 90% business travelers who know what they are doing, no delays at security ever, no screaming toddlers, etc. And the takeoffs really cure any fear of flying :) as you often feel like you are about to fly into HSBC or Barclays HQ at Canary Wharf 😂. We once landed in Berlin in January on heavy fog and snow and they had to turn on the auto pilot landing protocol (which I am told they only use in extreme weather conditions), so the plane landed by itself! We kept descending and couldn't see anything due to the fog and all of a sudden, you see outside and the wheels touch down. It was amazing!

Thanks for the lovely video! I love the Embraer planes BA is using, since you have decent legroom in every seat! Normally my run would be Dusseldorf to LCY. In February I'm finally getting the Business experience, looking forward!

Brilliant journey and presentation Swinn. 1hr 20 sounds like my sort of flight. Just enough time for a cuppa and a P. Loved the aerial scenes particularly the wind farm for some odd reason, maybe the one off of Newhaven could look similar. I look forward to seeing Berlin in the sun. Only 7 likes? I enjoyed the views from aboard. Last year May I flew in from Rotterdam to London City Airport, We landed on rwy 27, so from the east, as you did. But as I left London rwy 09 was in use. So we departed eastbound, away from London City. I am not sure the take off is steeper than on other airports, they always want to climb away from the ground obstacles as fast as possible, of course with in the limits of passenger comfort. But the ILS approach is steeper, 5 degr instead of the ususal 3 degr glide slope. Thanks for sharing.
