Thanks so much for this video! I just wanted to mention something for those watching cos I was panicking when after drying it for a little while the feathers were still clumped together. The dryer DOES do most of the work as explained in the video. I had left mine in there for about 2 hours and it came out nice and puffy 😍
I bought mine and wore them straight away, last Winter. Ugh! Now that it is starting to get colder again, I need to get them washed. They are begging for it and so am I lol. Thanks for your helpful vid. From a fellow Auzzie.
Thank you very much for this video. This was just what wanted to know, because I was unsure how to clean my son's feather down jacket without Ruining it. ❤
Thank you for the idea of what soap to use and the 3 tennis balls. My Washing machine and Dryer is LG. I make it 2 rinse, and 2 spin at 400 rpm at 20 degrees Celsius. Drying 2x at High at 29 minutes. Looks brand new again.
I've just bought a not jacket but without sleeves. I like it but I don't want to the hassle that you've shown us so return it. That was goood help. By the way, I don't use a tumble dryer as well.
Very nice and pleasant video. I still don't get what the Tennis balls are really doing if you have to do so much by hands and it seems a lot of work too. I just read another one involving ping pong balls I wonder what's the difference? Thanks for putting this here.
a year late but the tennis balls basically hit the clumps to help dislodge the feathers from eachother as they dry, same thing as doing it by hand, ping pong balls are the same concept but they seem too light to work imo, i used a hard spikey plastic ball
My washer has a spin only option that I’ll try rather than air drying. Thanks for the video. Washing my Canada goose with my fingers crossed as I write this.
Hi, thanks for this I will use these tips in the future. I'm thinking of buying a Macpac down jacket online and wanted to know what size jacket you have and what you recommend on sizing? Sorry this is a bit off the topic
Hi Elleese! Thankyou so much for watching! My jacket is a size 10. I’d say they’re pretty true to size. I would usually wear a size 8 in tops but always go up a size for jackets so I can wear layers underneath 😊 I hope that helps! 💖
You can do it without a dryer but it will take a really long time to dry. Once it’s completely dry you should be able to give it a gentle shake or use your hands to separate the clumps. They won’t separate if they’re still wet! 🌻
Ok so wait mine is a shiny glossy one and it has like white dots when there is a strong light lighting it, how do I remove it? And does it differ if it's shiny or not?
Would using/adding conditioner/fabric softener to the cycle help resolve the clumping issue (bcoz the down would dry softer and separated like hair?) 🤷♀️
did you zip in all the zips ? taking it out of the washing machine could have been done more gently. also hanging it out could be more more gentle - not letting large portions hang and but instead rest on the surface of the drier. and would also not squeeze it like that.
@@ksclips8382 fk! I've went on a shopping spree! And also bought 10 tommy flag custom-Fit polo shirts on a really good discount from tommy hilfiger on Amazon. Anyways, upon receiving my shirts by mail I've just received 3 shirts yesterday. I've Immediately proceed to try them on and fell in love with the shirts. lol
Hey Brandon! I personally have not tried this without a dryer however I imagine it would be achievable. You would need to regularly go in and break up the clumps of feathers throughout the drying process. Keep in mind your jacket would probably take days to dry without using a dryer. Sorry I couldn’t be more help! Thankyou for watching 🌻
You can’t put the jacket on at the very beginning of the video and then towards the very end so we can see the before and after AB comparisons?? 🤦🏼♂️😕
I just washed my Down Gilet not knowing what would happen and it’s ruined :( I don’t have a tumble dryer and I’m trying to air dry it but it’s all clumped up and feels empty now :( :(
Hey Susan, I’m sorry to hear this! Never fear though.. provided you used a gentle detergent, once the down has dried it will fluff back up 🙂 hang it in the shade somewhere and give it a gentle shake every now and then. It will be back to normal in no time ❤️
I wouldn’t recommend using a normal detergent as it can damage the down. But that doesn’t mean it definitely will. Let it dry and then reassess 😊 Keep in mind it is likely to take a very long time to air dry - possibly a week or more! If you have access to a laundromat you may wish to use one of their dryers to speed up the process. Goodluck! ❤️
Alot of the advice you are giving is wrong. Most of them Pure soap flakes are not great better to use "Nikwax Down wash Direct" as this doesn't harm the down. and you MUST CLEAN OUT THE TOUGH
Hey there! As mentioned in the video I am just showing what has worked for me. I you do not feel these instructions are correct or don’t feel comfortable washing your own jacket please seek professional advice 😊 thanks for watching! 💕
Kate Polizzi I use the ember down jacket from macpac cause here it gets pretty cold in nsw on the border of nsw and vic around -15 on a cold day lowest it was here was -22 so you need to be warm to survive not like in Melbourne where comfortable is needed here it’s for survival and it roughly takes 5 days to clean the jacket and dry it so yeah a lot different stuff
Too bad. I have a down and feather Ted Baker jacket so I'll have a professional clean it. Too much money paid to fook up my jacket by cleaning it myself.
Nice.. it’s also good to turn your jacket inside out while washing

Do you ever wipe your jacket if you cant wash it
Just with a damp cloth yes 😊
I got a new one and I noticed, sometimes a small feather coming out ... Because of that I worry on how to wash it,
Is it good to dry jacket in washing machine..
Sorry I’m not sure what you mean?
You can dry things in a washing machine uno 🤦🏾♂️
Love It❤❤❤❤
If there is one thing I dislike is video intros that last for ages unnecessarily. Prime example is right here on this video!!
I ruined my new jacket by using fragrance liquid in washing machine.Any idea how to fix it?
Disclaimer ...i am not Cinderella or Jupiter Jones!!
can you tell me can we wash two jackets at the same time ?
If your washing machine is big enough, sure!
Or steam iron or dry clean simple
Madam, I have no washing machine then how can I have use tennis ball 🤔 to make it quick dry.
