    This video is the most comprehensive guide ever to memorizing a deck of shuffled cards.
    The basic way to memorize a deck of cards is to create an image for all 52 cards. Here is a way that you might create these images
    Hearts = people that you love
    Diamonds = rich people
    Clubs = sports stars or athletes
    Spades = cartoon characters or superheros
    If you need help creating the images or people for cards to memorize then get some ideas from the Major System for memorizing numbers. In this Major System for Numbers
    1 = t
    2 = n
    3 = m
    4 = R
    5 = L
    6 = J
    7 = K or C
    8 = F or PH
    9 = P or B
    0 = S
    So for the 8 of Diamonds think of someone rich that their name starts with F
    For 3 of hearts think of someone that you love and their names starts with M.
    For the 9 of Clubs think of a sports star or singer who has a P in their name.
    For the 2 of Diamonds think of a rich person whose name starts with an N
    If you do this you could memorize a deck of cards using 52 images and the Mind Palace or Memory Palace technique.
    If you want to speed up the process and advance to the next level of how to memorize a deck of cards you will want to use the method known as Person Action Object or also known as Character Action Object.
    In this method for each card you have a person, and action and an object.
    You memorize cards in groups of 3 and this really speeds up the process.
    If you are looking for memory training tips or memory tricks I do believe that this is the absolute best method for memory training.
    Learn how to do this memory trick and impress your friends.

      There's really no shortcut. Just practice every day. Work on recognizing your card images faster and faster, even if you're not memorizing them. For any images that seem to not come quite as quickly for you, replace them with images that are more memorable. I recently replaced about six of my images of people with objects that were more unique, and that seemed to help. Then, when memorizing, just keep making yourself go through the deck faster than you think you can, and learn to trust your brain to remember. Software like Memocamp or Memory League really help. It may help to do smaller amounts of cards, and work on making them faster, e.g., try to memorize 13 cards in 30 seconds, then work on 26 cards in 1 minute, etc. Oh, and listen to all of Ron's videos.

    Suppose I am practicing to remember the deck of cards since 5-6 months and I have experimented 300-400 times the sequence of deck of cards. And I am using the same memory palace to place information. Now how to forget the previous one and remember the new one? How to differentiate between all the 300 images placed on the same peg?

      I'm not a advanced memory athlete or a professional in anyway, but I have an Idea: How about, on each "palace" you put something distinct about it. For example: If you wanted to memorize digits of pi, put a big pie on top of your memory palace. If you were memorizing a deck of cards, put a big pile of cards stacking up on your memory palace. Those are just 2 ideas. I'm only 12 years old, so I don't expect you to take this seriously.

    • @lpgrunt
      @lpgrunt 5 років тому +1

      EthanPlayz thanks for the ideas. I actually found a way that seems to be working for me: I’ve created more memory palaces. For example, I recently had Jury Duty, so created a memory palace of a court room. I used the jury box to remember my jury ID, a phone on the judges bench to remember the phone number, etc. it worked great! I think the hard work is to establish an alphanumeric system first, then use it in a memory palace. It’s really rewarding when it all comes together and I actually remembered all my jury info. It also came in handy when I filled out the forms. I didn’t need to pull out my paperwork. I just went to my court room memory palace to get the info I needed. Pretty amazing!

    • @SSS7527
      @SSS7527 5 років тому +2

      @@lpgrunt I use the journey method for rubik's cube memorization, and having a number of buildings or "journeys" that you rotate through helps. So when you first do a deck, use your house. Then for the next deck use your road to work, then your workplace, etc. By the time you get back to using your house, you will have forgotten the previous objects placed there. If you want to memorize something long-term that is unchanging (for example, the digits of pi), use a unique journey method that you do not use for anything else. This way it can stay dedicated to pi and won't be confused with anything else.

      I used it to memorize the structure of 15 different types of essays for an exam when i was in 8th grade. It's really not that complicated and rather fun. I still remember them to this day. You just have to find what works for you and practice a little. Good luck!

      You either put the last card (the person associated with the card) in an 18th location. Or if you are taking a second deck and rearranging it to match the deck you memorized, it would be the only card left after the 17th location.

    my question would be how do you remember the cards in order of they are getting out of the deck, and how useful it is to know what cards are already in the table and be ready to bet big.

      Ok so for this you set up a path through your memory palace. Let's say your memory palace is your house:
      the first card, you put in the door to your house, the second card you put in the first room of your house etc.
      so there is an order: You always start at your door, and it always is the same path, and so you can see the order of the cards. The card in your front door is always going to be the first one etc.

      I use pegs based on the major number system. For example 13's peg is "time" (1=t, 3=m) and its image is a clock. The ace of spades is "suit" (s=first letter of spade, t= 1), so if I picture a suit hanging from a clock, I know the ace of spades is 13th in the deck. It's the system used in Harry Lorayne's books. With number pegs it's very easy to show off. You hand someone a deck of cards and ask them to name a card. Immediately you tell them where it is in the deck.

    I don't understand one thing. Once you create your mental images using 3 card sequences and assign them to various object in the mental palace, how do you remember what image was associated with a particular object? There should be a way to associate the images in a sequence, maybe creating a story.

    • @cosmikdebris6055
      @cosmikdebris6055 3 роки тому

      I like to be helpful and I have quite a bit of experience with trying to remember things although it takes me far longer than it should. I think you need to imagine the sequence as if it's real. It's like you can almost see it in your mind's eye. I can see that this will get easier with lots of practice over time. But, I'm with you regarding overcoming difficulties.

    "One Piece At A Time" would make a better PAO than "Ring of Fire" The action would be stealing pieces off of an assembly line to build the object, and the object would be the Psychobilly Cadillac. Likewise instead of a stage, Michael Jackson could be moonwalking in Neverland Ranch. Mom stealing from an assembly line to build an amusement park, or MJ cooking the weird car would be VERY easy images to remember.
