Cordelia is really the heart and glue of this group. She pushed Doyle and Angel to do serious PI work, helping people as a "day job" also creating herself a job. It's great to see her away from Sunnydale, develop into a more thoughtful person with purpose. I love her funny, superficial side and how it balances out with the rest of her characteristics.
Remember way back in Buffy season 1? "Never Kill A Boy On The First Date" Cordy lays eyes on on Angel for the first time: "Hello, salty goodness!" Angel walks over to Buffy where she's talking to Owen. "Why does this always happen to me?!?" Now we're in Angel season 1. Angel and Cordy are besties. But if the day ever comes... "Oh I'll kill ya dead." I love these shows...
Great reaction to a great episode. 😊 This is one of my favorite season one episodes. We've got Alexis Denisof officially joining the cast as Wesley. I'll always miss Doyle, but Wesley is a fantastic addition to the show. Kate finds out the truth about Angel. And we get a Jeremy Renner guest star. Looking forward to the next "Angel" and "Buffy" reactions. 😊
Love this episode - Wesley becoming part of the main cast, another glimpse into Angel/Angelus’ past (horrendous accent aside 😂), Kate finding out about Angel and then Cordy and Angel’s blossoming friendship which is all shades of cute 🥰
That final scene on the rooftop was originally written to be with Doyle. So Cordy would have missed out on these bonding moments. I think it was better for the long run to have it be Cordelia.
Somnambulist was a great episode in from the first Season of Angel. Angel's past constantly comes back to haunt him in this show. Great comedy when Cordy says to Wesley ' you stake him, and I'll cut his head off'. Angel's absolutely awful Irish accent the only downside of this episode. Kate at last really knows what Angel really is, and she now trusts him to a degree but is still a bit 'Scully' in her attitude. Great dusting through Angel by Kate to kill Penn. Jeremy Renner of course does a great job here as Penn before becoming a Hollywood A-Lister.
Kate was (is?) a controversial character but this episode showcases why I like her, and I think the scenes with Angel make me buy into the ship aspect.
That end scene with Cordy and Angel on the roof is so heartwarming. Love their bond. 🥰

13:45 oh please! Joss would never do that!
Imagine!

Thank you! Yes this was a lot of fun
Has anyone told George yet about what happened to Doyle's actor in real life?
Yes sooo sad 😭😭

Couldn't agree more!

George babe do yourself a huge favour going on and don't look at the intro credits, they can be huge spoilers.
Go back to season 1 of Buffy. Do you think at that time that you would ever feel this way about Cordelia?
