I remember playing MLB 2000 on PS1 when I was 5 years old, over 20 years ago. They were some great times.
This has been the best 16 minutes of my year.

I used to play this religiously on PSP, absolutely solidified my love for the sport and game franchise.

The first game was actually MLB 98 by 989 Studios lol. San Diego Studios took over the franchise starting with this game
that's why it says the first mlb the show game. also this is SDSs engine i believe

the presentation in this game was crazy good. The national anthem from the outside of the stadium was really cool.

And there’s an even earlier iteration with the 2004 rosters and Vlad Guerrero on the cover, it just didnt have “The Show” tagline. First discovered it on a demo disk that came in the Playstation Magazine. Different times :,)

The first game in the series is MLB Pennant Race on ps1. The next year they changed it to just MLB (insert year) .

This game started a tradition I carry to this day: I lower the difficulty to it's lowest, crank the sliders up on my end, down on the opponent and just go to fucking town.

I have an answer for you sir! This game was originally titled just "MLB 08" believe it or not - the year it came out, then for the initial Show they changed the name to MLB 10 The Show. Whatever year it became the show. I remember seeing the cover for the game and thinking OMG that looks like the most realistic game ever, fenway park looks flawless lol
