      Kunta kinte's hair is dry and matted. Type 4 hair is just smaller curls that's why it can shrink so much .our hair isn't difficult to deal with if you don't try to detangle when dry,keep it moisturized , and let it do what it naturally wants to do. The big issue is we don't understand our hair and it usually isn't managed properly. Moisturizer will make your hair clump into whatever curl pattern is in your head ( proper moisturizer not grease).

      Chris Ayetan that means your hair was ALWAYS 4a. You can’t change your hair texture. 🤦🏾‍♀️

    All my discouraged brothers in the comments please read this. When I first tried this routine a few months ago I was BLOWN that my curls weren't as defined as his. But I kept doing it and applying the leave in conditioner everyday. Now my hair looks just like this. If you haven't had a daily curly hair routine your hair is most likely dry and unhealthy. It could take months to get your hair trained enough to retain moisture. I'm probably 3 months in and I think my hair has a long way to go still. So don't be discouraged, don't say it's just genetics because it's not. There are plenty of dark skin men that can get a similar pattern if you TAKE CARE OF YOUR HAIR DAILY. If it's really kinky shave that shit off and start fresh. Find a routine and do it EVERYDAY for months. Then reassess. If you don't want to do that then you don't really want the curls!

    EDITED****
    I had to come back and retract my comment. First try this dinner work at all, but turns out it was issues with my own hair moreso than the method. You guys have to keep in mind that this dude has been rockin this style for a while, his hair is already moisturized and able to retain product. if your hair is dry and coarse this WILL NOT WORK.
    So if your hair is damaged I got some modified steps that may help.
    1. Get in the shower, wet your hair. You can wash if you want. Just make sure the water is hot, the humidity will help.
    2. Pick out your hair thoroughly. Add a generous amount of the growth oil and apply in a “back-forth” motion, like you’re trying to get some shit out of your hair. Do this TWICE
    3. Then follow up with the two Cantu Products like the video explains. The worse your hair the more product you’ll need just don’t over saturate it to the point where your hair is completely white. A little white here and there is okay, it’ll disappear as it dries. Also, if your hair isn’t long is not gonna look like that, you’ll need a few inches forsure.
    I wish I could post pictures but it turned out great, thanks for the Vid!

    I started with this video when I never had curls before about a month ago and when I started I hardly had anything and low key regretted buying the products but THEY DO WORK it just takes time for your hair to get used to the moisture and for you to see what does and doesn’t work for your hair. Like I said I started off with ppl being like “wtf is that” and now I get hella compliment from complete strangers lol trust this man he know what he’s talking about

    African male with nappy hair, I actually bought both those products from Target because of this video, literally did the same exact thing they did, and I can tell you right now that it doesnt "create" curls. None of these "create" curls, they "define" curls. Simply applying them on your head doesnt transform the hair you have into curls. You have to have a curling method, like finger coiling for example to curl your head, and then use products like these to just define those curls. Thats all there for.

    • @102allenwalker
      @102allenwalker 6 років тому

      You may have thicker hair so you may have to try another way or you don’t have natural big curls

    • @JuicyDMO
      @JuicyDMO 6 років тому +5

      No really all you have to do is train your hair. I sponged my hair religiously for like 6months and your hair will just curl up by just adding the products cause it now knows what you want it to do. At this point I don’t even have to use the sponge just like the guy in the video. I have never finger coiled, two strand twist or any of that. It definitely takes patience

    OMGGG!!!! I have been looking and looking and asking soooo many ppl what can I do to get and keep my boys curls in. It’s be there and then become dry and crusty and then matted looking. I don’t like that. So thank you, definitely helped! Greatly appreciate it!!!!
    BUT, as a hair dresser...the reason why it’s so curly in the front and not so much elsewhere...which it was but not so much of a curl as it was in the front, was because as you put the product in, you kept putting it in the front first each time. Split your hair down the middle and place the product in between so you can get the full effect allll over and not just in front.
    Over all great vid and results! Much love and appreciation

    I would’ve thought you would use the oil after the leave in because it’s a sealant to moisture. Because oil seals everything in so applying the leave in after would kinda defeat the purpose of it. Putting the oil after the leave in will “lock in” any moisture you’re gaining from the leave in

    • @RegBri
      @RegBri  6 років тому

      サビアン umm id prolly say to try other products..Cantu might just work that well on your hair. Try a different leave in conditioner....or maybe try just using gel by itself

      @SirFriess 6 років тому

      Okay. Tysm for responding

    • @jtfitness301
      @jtfitness301 5 років тому

      Get the Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Hydrating Cream Conditioner and apply that on after you shampoo and de-tangled your hair. Shower while it’s in your hair and rinse. Apply the conditioner when your hair is soaking wet every morning and on the second or third day you should have extremely defunded curls with no leave in or activator needed. (I have type 4A hair) the longer you do it the more curly your hair can get, and I usually de-tangle evey 1-2 weeks. Only downside is serious shrinkage from how well it works.

      Plot Dot Lmao please shut your none black ass up, you know nothing. There are native African's lighter than him, try Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Africa, Cape Verde, Madagascar, Mauritiana, Fulani people and the majority of North Africa.... and if you were trying to get at West African's there are a lot of people from the Igbo ethnicity in Nigeria (my ethnic group) that are lighter than him or the same complexion.
      You can start by UA-cam searching "Cindyrella OG Snapchat Q&A + Reading Funny Comments ft. Naija Fam". Everybody on the video is Igbo (they also actually mention that they are during the video at around 20.02), light skin, brown skin and dark skin, one of them is even lighter than Reg and another is the same shade.
      The US national soccer player Oguchi Onyewu is also 100% Igbo and lighter than Reg.
      Reg is the same complexion as Chiwetel Ejiofor or Kerry Washington's husband, Nnamdi Asomugha (formerly of the NFL) who are also both Igbo.
