Love anything this man does
Brilliant as always. Love Eric’s playing. Listening to him, I am always amazed at his control, lyricism and soulfulness.
Great version of Cheesecake .Eric just plays so well on this he should get a medal. Top rate backing trio too.
Makes me strive to continue learning listening to this brilliance!
love that pentatonic lick at 4:22. so simple but so swingin
Look forward to seeing Eric at this years litchfield jazz festival where I'll be volunteering for the first time. I last attended this festival 13 years ago when Ray Charles was there. I'm glad i had the opportunity to say Ray before he passed away.
Oh go on then, as nobody seems to want to comment on this one ! I'm really getting in to this guy, and nice to hear him digging in to Dexter's classic. Great blowing and a great band. Thanks for posting. Go Eric !
The Eric Alexander standard is a true connection to the Trane, Mobley, Stitt, Parker, Getz, Griffin, Gordon, Rollins tradition... I am a listener in AWWWW
Sounding better than ever EA. I'll never forget the week of combo instruction at abersold 10 years ago now. Lovely cat all the way around.
Great Stuff
simply amazing
If I closed my eyes and didn't know any better I would think Dexter had returned. Talk about nailing the era. Love the band, and loved the minimalist drum solo. Thanks for the post.
bedlam6666 not even close to great incomparable Dexter .
@@kpoudavoff I agree with you on that one! Dexter was amazing!
Great job by Eric Alexander by the way!
In my four decades of listening to Jazz i have never heard a 'White guy' blow like Eric. Just haven't heard it.
EDDIE MATHENEY Well, you know, I DO TAKE THAT TO HEART AND AS A COMPLIMENT, even though some people would have a different reaction. I know where I came from and where my heart lies-----so Thank You! Ea
Eric, yes it is a COMPLIMENT, although i worded it in poor taste. You are one of the finest saxophonist period. How's that?
+EDDIE MATHENEY I agree with you, Eric's sound and playing are exceptional, but I would include Grant Stewart as well
Once in Paris, I came to see Al Foster. But I mostly heard Eric Alexander. I didn't know him, but he blew me . An excellent evening.
Eric genial get it! fly into dexter' mood
wow! that phrases are so sweet, each chorus he is trying to play in a different manner, sometimes taking coltrane`s m6 phrases killing me :) Thanks Eric! I wish I could play like you!
Nice 🎶🎶🎶🎷👍🏾
EA knows the language! WOW!
