    Crypton fabric is $45 a yard on sale at my Joanne store. Thought this is cute. It's definitely expensive to make with this fabric

      We sell the fabric for $22.95 a yard. When it comes to craft fabrics, Joann is great. We specialize in quality performance fabrics at a great price. Here is the link to the fabric if you are interested: www.sailrite.com/Crypton-Home-Piper-Sapphire-54-Fabric

    I'm curious how the same diameter circle could work for both the top and bottom. Wouldn't the top be a longer length, because of the curve, therefore need a bigger circle?

    • @SailriteWorkbench
      @SailriteWorkbench  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi Laura! You are correct. The top and bottom circle panels do have different diameters. The top panel has a diameter of 38-1/2" and the bottom panel has a diameter of 35-1/2". Here is the provided PDF for reference: directus.sailrite.com/assets/d74b5048-87ad-4c85-a392-46fdd55e63ce

    Have you tried creating an inner bag for the foam and putting a zipper along the backside so the covering could be washed? I know, I know, you were not thinking of small children but they are messy not to mention this seems like something they would like to crawl up into when they are not feeling well (as young children are prone to crave cuddly comfort when ill. ). I have a two year niece who would love one of these.

    • @SailriteWorkbench
      @SailriteWorkbench  Рік тому +14

      We wanted this project to be as beginner-friendly as possible, so we did not create the beanbag as a cover that could be removed with a zipper. The fabric we used, Crypton, is inherently stain, odor and moisture-resistant thanks to their proprietary fabric technology. Most liquid spills simply roll off the fabric. Stains can be easily spot treated, and the beanbag should be vacuumed to remove any dirt and debris. Crypton is a very easy-to-keep-clean fabric, and it’s a great choice for households with messy kids and pets.

    • @dontbeevillol6050

      No, that will not work for the diameter. You have halve the circumference of the top and bottom, if you halve the side panel.

    Question: are all the materials in the fabric used safe for children to sleep/ play on. Does the foam emit off gassing which would be unsafe for a young child to sleep/ play on? Also, when sewing clothes, I always wash the fabric prior to sewing. Is it recommended to wash this fabric before sewing?

    • @SailriteWorkbench
      @SailriteWorkbench  Рік тому +8

      Crypton is a GREENGUARD Gold Certified fabric for low chemical emissions. Fabrics that pass this rigorous certification are certified for helping to create healthier, more sustainable indoor environments. Crypton is free of potentially harmful levels of formaldehyde, heavy metals, phenols, phthalates, and odor and skin sensitizers. All this to say, yes, it is safe for children to sleep and play on. We do not recommend pre-washing Crypton. During manufacturing, the fabric is given an immersion bath followed by a heat process that seals the performance technology into every fiber. This gives the fabric lifelong stain, moisture and odor protection. Simple spot cleaning and vacuuming will keep the fabric clean and looking like new for years.
      To answer your concern about CushionRite Foam: All CushionRite Foam is CertiPUR-US certified. This means the foam is made without mercury, lead and other heavy metals, made without formaldehyde and made without phthalates. CushionRite has low volatile organic compound emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million). The foam is safe to use as a sleeping mattress, and safe for children.

    Hello. I’m a bit confused. 22.5 +14+14+14+14+22.5 =101 inches but it is supposed to be 113 inches along the bottom? Thanks

    • @SailriteWorkbench
      @SailriteWorkbench  5 місяців тому

      Hi, we are sorry for the confusion. On the PDF the 22-1/2" refers to the height of the side boxing panel. The measurement that you're looking for is 28-1/2". It is labeled in red text above the 22-1/2" text.
      The length along the bottom is 113 inches, so using your example the math would be 28.5+14+14+14+14+28.5= 113 inches. Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions!
