Johanna & Frits Hakkens Great-grandson Caleb Howell video message on UN International Holocaust Remembrance Day, at Parliament, Wellington, NZ. The event was hosted by Hon Grant Robertson, with MC Miriam Bookman, Deputy Chair, Holocaust Centre of New Zealand, and the theme 'resistance'.
The brave actions of the Hakkens saved Jewish lives during WWII, this included hiding toddler Elli Mantegari (nee Szanowski) for two years in their home in the Netherlands.
