I hope you enjoy this presentation. I always try hard to expand my knowledge in effects. This project is a big learning curve for me :) Please help me by liking and subscribing. Donations so that I can continue to give these things to you will help in financing the technology I need to achieve it. www.buymeacoffee.com/brunny2022H

So fortunate to have seen these 2 giants in these roles, back when I was a student in the U.K. Thank you ever so much for uploading this.

This is simply marvelous all around! Such glorious singing from two great artists, given such wonderful support by maestro Goodall and his players. The solid consistency of "our" diva's voice through the entire range is a thing which never ceases to amaze, and Remedios always sounds every bit the fresh young lad, never straining and always on the note. "O heavenly rulers" indeed! An earlier comment alludes to Dame Rita's flexibility; I would second this and single out the exquisite grupetto on "Conquering light!" just near the end as a fine example of a detail which too often goes unnoticed. Goodall's reading too lends an almost chamber music-like texture when necessary, with plenty of power for the big moments (where he never allows the orchestra to overplay the singers!) All of this with quite excellent broadcast sound and an absolutely stunning presentation by Mairwyn! The photos are lovely and evocative of a feeling of "being there" which is as close as some of us may get. Thank you for your continued heartfelt advocacy on behalf of your mother and her artistic legacy. We are all the richer for your efforts, and I very much look forward to whatever treasure may be in store for us here!

Apart from a brilliantly put together set of photos and text, I just wanted to share that every time I sat out front watching this scene, my nerves increased with the build up of the stunning music but was so relieved they went at the crescendo but then my feelings turned to being totally taken away by the amazing singing from these two long friends of the English Operatic stage, they made these roles their own, and I’ll cherish the memories of these performances until I meet them both again in Valhalla…

Same here Richard. With every upload I wish they were both here to experience this with us. Ours was a very special childhood and it is one I cherish dearly. The legend of these two will live on and as you say we will see them again. They will be there to meet us both and their greeting from the distance will be the thumbnail of this video!

Thank you so much dear. It all helps me out to get the tech I need to transfer it all. I need the old tech to do it. Current tech (like the mp3 converters) are just awful.

Ecstatic! The first thing I noticed was Miss Hunter’s absolute ease with the little ornaments written in the score by Wagner. Most “Wagner Singers” simply ignore the turns and trills in their effort to produce the most decibels. I only saw Miss Hunter once at the Met, as Brunnhilde in Die Walkure, but she made a very positive impression.

Thank you so much for your kind words. The thing is, when Alberto and Mum were on the stage (and not always together) you could take that performance to the bank!!!! They SANG it. They didn't bark it. If you bark it....you can't sing it. Reggie had a VERY strong grasp on vocal technique and very strong sense of right and wrong. He demanded excellence and well....he got it!!!

I heard Rita Hunter sing Götterdämmerung at the Met and Walküre in Philadelphia directed by George London! She was absolutely spectacular in both. Not only her blazing top notes, but her beautiful, anchored middle voice and strong chest register all carried effortlessly to the top balcony of both the Met and the Academy of Music. Nilsson sang the first Götterdämmerung of the Met run with her arm in a sling (she got injured in rehearsal) but had to cancel the next two shows. Miss Hunter sang and wow, her long-held high C in the duet was among the best I ever heard. Her “Ruhe, du Gott” in the Immolation Scene brought tears to my eyes. The Goodall Ring is one of my desert island discs. My friend’s voice teacher, Lois McDonell, sings Freia.

That was so beautifully put together. Gorgeous work
And the way they held the note at the end and knew exactly when to finish
