With your passion for exotic fruits you inspired me to grow some of them indoors. I now have 4 different garcinias, 2 mangoes (still hunting for a hamam mango seed), some bananas, a cherimoya and an atemoya tree, 2 Pawpaws outside, a Pitangatuba, and now I have to look for some pitayas 😅. You opened the door of a new world to me, and it's exciting! Thank you.

    Hi There,
A pro tip I learned from a commercial grower of Dragon fruit:
Let the fruits dry out a bit, perhaps around one to two weeks on the counter, so they get a bit wrinkely on the outside. What happens is that the excess water contained within the fruits evaporates, and the flavors and aromas become noticably more concentrated; they eat much better.
    Cheers!

Hoping you did ice cream or something to keep the nutrients intact, as I think I've realized that bio-availability isn't discerned by a perfect means; it seems that just because something absorbs faster or more fully in a particular area of the human body, doesn't exactly mean it's healthiest in that particular processed form, meaning that smaller amounts of the healthier but not as "fully absorbed" substance might be better. Although a mix of both seems like it's possibly necessary for most people at the moment, because of a lack of clean environments(healthy microbes play a huge role) and because of a lack of commodities which seem they are not actually shipped into many, if any, countries.
Also, consider comparing dragon fruit nutrients to chia seeds if you hadn't already; I forget if I mentioned that.

Thank you Jared - as another dragon fruit grower, I appreciate your efforts in letting people know about the different varieties. I started off with 2 varieties a friend in Florida gave me and this year were over 40 flowers with 18 setting fruit as they are self-infertile and had to be hand pollenated. Last year two different growers gave me cuttings, so next year will be even more varieties.

My small country in South East Asia use to import many varieties of lovely bananas from our neighboring country Malaysia. But in recent years, the big American corporations somehow muscled their way in and now has a large share of the market, imports largely Cavendish bananas from Philippines instead. It is very sad as now we do not get Pisang Raja anymore unless you are able to grow it yourself. Don't let the same thing happen to your country.

I love dragon fruit. Yellow is my favorite because it's sweet and delicious. The red is not as sweet but, it's still very good. The white is pretty tasteless but, if you put something sweet on it, the taste becomes fantastic.

I love how random the tournament was, brackets with 2, 3, 5 competitors, some advancing straight to the semis, great all around. And I loved the fireworks at the end!
I've never had dragonfruit, they aren't common where I'm from and I've only seen them at very high prices. Hopefully I can be disappointed by their mild flavor soon lol

The red colored white dragon fruit at the supermarket is very bland and even has a musty flavor directly from the supermarket so no telling if it’s gone bad, or what. The yellow one is technically not really a dragon fruit of his supermarket yellow it has cactus spines on it that you have to take off, and it comes wrapped in like styrofoam netting

Interesting results! As a newbie to growing Dragon Fruit, it reaffirms I chose well in my growing selection even though none have fruited yet. I'm growing American Beauty, Sugar Dragon, Purple Haze, and Connie Mayer. For anyone looking to grow Dragon Fruit, American Beauty is self pollinating and self fertile and the best one to start with. Sugar Dragon is also Self pollinating and self fertile. Purple Haze and Connie Mayer are both self sterile and non self pollinating so you will need another variety to pollinate. Sugar Dragon amd American Beauty are two of the best to grow and have for pollination other Dragon Fruit.

I can't believe it, my wish came true!!! For a very long time I always wanted to know if there was more than the two dragon fruits sold in supermarkets (white flesh vs purple flesh) and what they would taste like. This is most exciting! The supermarket ones were bland but the seeds were fun to crunch. I was fascinated that there are more than two kinds. Hoping that one day I will be able to try one of two that are different than the usual supermarket brands. This video was fun to watch. Thanks for the differences! PS. Turning it into a contest with the "sitting on edge" music you chose was also fun!
