I recently saw her in a French TV program done many years ago. I did find her beautiful. Her French was superb and she had a good sense of humour. Very attractive lady.
Until this interview I always believed (without much thought) the opinion of the British media, and thought of PM as Princess Pushy. How wrong could I be! What an elegant, charismatic and highly intelligent woman Princess Michael is. It’s a pity the condescending and mumbling interviewer kept interrupting though, imagine PM as a fellow dinner guest, she is riveting.
WHAT interview? This was NOT an interview of Princess Michael - it was merely a superficial profile reiterating the most readily available, previously published information. I’ve never met the woman - so have no first-hand experience to rely upon. I also happen to believe the press can do a fair job of maligning people - without good cause - based solely on hearsay. However, if ever I had a doubt as to Princess Michael’s character, it was resolved the moment she wore a Blackamoor brooch depicting a person of color in a subservient position. This is incontrovertible evidence as to her nature. Rumors circulated that the brooch incident was meant to be an insult to the then-Duchess of Sussex, who is of African-American origin and who was reportedly the source of a great deal of disruption to the royal family. Even if the disapproval of Meaghan was justified, the donning of racially inappropriate items - ESPECIALLY in a nation with a past history of exploiting people of color and which presently leads a Commonwealth of nations of diverse ethnicities - displays a vulgarity unbefitting a person of high status. It would seem the apple didn’t fall far from the tree where Maria’s Nazi upbringing is concerned - and I dare say that notwithstanding the percentage of “royal blood” she has running through her veins, she doesn’t meet the standards to be called a lady - much less a princess.
She is just marvelous 😍 she has a heart of gold, my adopted mum also had simese cat, we grow up with kitties too. You and hubby are a wonderful pair of humanitarian. God Bless you both for everything you both do for wild life. You are the most elegant couple in the Royal Family. ❤❤
In an interview Princess Michael mentioned that the waltz was the only dance they knew before the Beatles came along. The Countess Szapary resided in the Cornelius Vanderbilt estate The Breakers in Newport, RI. I remember when she returned from the Royal Wedding of Charles and Diana. She had two cardboard cutouts of Charles and Diana with waving hands, waving from the windows,in the backseat of her Mercedes as she slowly drove up the driveway smiling at all of us. According to the caretaker of The Breakers The Countess was a wonderful person. The Countess treated Mike and his son Brian as if they were family. I encountered her several times while guiding guests through her stately home.
She is not responsible for her father. She is an elegant and hardworking member of the Royal family.Leave her alone. Her daughter's husband died recently.
I’m sorry to say but even caring Royal blood in her DNA I never could pick that royal air in her… no wonder Queen Elisabeth had little to do with Princess of Kent….
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are older members of the royal family and manage to do good deeds. They should be treated with respect. They recently attended the memorial service for the late King Constantine at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
She is one of the more intelligent royals, you can tell she has education, and in quite a few languages too. A handsome family, regal and classy. Pushy? One does not know for sure, but she is beautiful, charming, elegant, and bright.
No one can deny that Princess Michael is a world class beauty and very photogenic. Also, the fact that she actually has accomplishments and education is commendable. I often wonder why more of the lesser royals haven’t struck out on their own, got a great education etc.
She's interesting and has her own interests. She does these things without being forced to do so by being on the civil list. Thats a good sign of her character. The fact that Prince Michael of Kent isnt a Knight of the Garter is odd and she has no orders period it seems.
Wished they could have joined HM QEII on the balcony in 2022 at the jubilee, also missing was Princess Alexandra. One last celebration of the old guard, so to speak.
Some time ago, several years at least, I read that the late Queen was hear to say something to the effect of "She's too grand for us," or "We're not grand enough for her." I don't remember which phrasing, but you get the idea. She does have a rather long pedigree, I grant you, but status does not confer manners.
Samantha...your right but the comment "she is rather grand for us"...was accorded to her HM the Queen...IF indeed she did say that. It most certainly was said tongue cheek and a casual "off the cuff" remark. The late Queens relationship with both of her Kent Cousins has always been good...as it is with the Gloucester Cousins too. it wont have been sad in a nasty way... Personally I cant see The Queen making such a remark to anyone but her two closest Bowes Lyons cousin's and they wouldn't have repeated it in any way that it would have leaked to the press. I think its much more likely...as we know HRH The Princess Michael does indeed have an incredible lineage, ye its clear Prince Michael didn't marry her for that... It was a love match. Both were extremely handsome and in love...Other less in love might have crumbled under the pressures of the day...
Once, when Her late Majesty was driving herself from London to Windsor in her old Rover, with the Corgis in the back on some lino, she got held up in traffic on Buckingham Palace Rd. She sat patiently among the other drivers, wondering why the traffic had stopped...Suddenly, a huge Bentley with a Royal standard at its front and police outriders, was ushered by, by the police...Her Majesty crained her neck to see who was holding up the traffic. She suddenley saw an unwitting Princess Micheal, regally sweep by...
I think the Queen meant by that comment that Princess Michael was a snob and high maintenance. The Queen was wonderfully down to earth and low maintenance type of person naturally.
I love her because she's very interesting and intelligent, and yes, except for Princess Diana and Princess Catherine, they all seem dowdy compared to her.
I love Princess Michael. Extremely intelligent. She has written several books historical in nature. My advanced degree is in history and I could not write as she has. Plus an interior designer. She’s different. Prince Michael extremely good looking - especially as a young man.
She is actually a very kind lady, something to which I can attest by way of a correspondence (she was very kind to have a letter answered, and not with any kind of generic sort of response you could expect from one who never sees a letter except their secretary). I’d love to see more biographical information about her friend Princess Antonia, Duchess of Wellington.
It’s always difficult for the extended Royals they get no income from being Royal, they have to work, until 20 years ago they did enjoy almost free accommodation but that changed…they are now expecting and do..Pay commercial rents for homes in say Kensington Palace. So, they need to earn Real Money…yet until relatively recently…Certainly In HRH Prince Michaels day…What we term Formal Education was unheard of. They cost the British people Nothing!!! Fair Play to them I Say .. for navigating the difficult waters of being Minor Royals.
Princess Michael of Kent also had a very good relationship with the Queen and now with Prince Charles. Of course not everybody loves her because she's amazing. Nobody's perfect but she is certainly an asset to the British Royal family. Look at her kids they are both intelligent, decent, hardworking and married to wonderful people too. I think they are well loved in the family.
Frederick Windsor is a lot of things, tall, handsome ( had a big crush on him when he was modeling for Burberry's) privilege, fun...etc...but hardworking? Hardly....😆
I am now 74. When P.M. came to the fore, we all thought of her as a wonderfully regal diva. The Queen was seen as staid and one didn't really think about her; she'd always been there. Princess Margaret? One knew so many hisses about her in my world of London's show biz and we all knew that no one ever knew where they stood with her. A social minefield, one moment wanting to be "one of the lads" then snapping, to demand high protocol. Princess Michael seemed tall, willowy, romantic and moved with the grace of a princess, dressed in continental chique couture. Regal to the Nth. degree: a veritable Princess and what's more, she didn't waddle like a duck!! I guess one could say that us lads all saw her in much the same vein as The Princess of Wales is now seen but that was contrary to the way that the 'media'? wanted us to perceive her. Youth, in those days, had the freedom and liberty to be and to speak as, the antithesis of "required social norms"
I love Princess Michael of Kent - her intelligence and wisdom. When watching any of the Royal events, be they happy or sad, her cognitive awareness is always there. And with so much empathy. For example, when the Queen was escorted to her seat in Westminster Abbey for Philip's Remembrance Service by Andrew, he was seated on the other side of the aisle, but Beatrice was behind the Queen. It was all too much for Beatrice, she cried and covered her face with the order of service. Who noticed all this ? Her husband Edoardo and Princess Michael of Kent. Much later during the singing of a hymn, little Charlotte turned around (that child is so perceptive) gave the sweetest smile to a composed Beatrice, and who noticed this ? Just Princess Michael of Kent. She notices everything. As did Prince Philip, intellectual curiosity.
❤ I have always loved Princess Michael of Kent, she is a gracious lady. 🙏 Now knowing more about her, my respect has tripped. She is an amazing woman and really is Princess by right.
You are confusing the Duchess of Kent with Princess Michael of Kent, it was the Duchess who taught music to students and has since given up her Your Royal Highness status
Prince Michael is related to the Romanovs. His grandmother was first cousin to the last Tsar. He was present when the Romanov's bones were finally entombed in a Greek Orthodox ceremony. There's a video of it on UA-cam though don't recall the name of it.
To all of those who still think wearing a blackamoor brooch is racist: The Moretto Veneziano is a traditional figure of Renaissance Venice, so much so that William Shakespeare also used a black-skinned man, Othello, for one of the most famous tragedies in a Venetian colony like Cyprus. The image of the Moor is recurrent in 18th-century Venice art and jewelry. And many tourists buy this classic picture of the history of Venetian art without any racist intent. Nardi has a shop in Piazza San Marco and is a traditional family business producing jewelery dating back to the late 1920's. "The brooch belongs to the Renaissance collection," the jeweler explained. And it has no discriminatory meaning, but if anything, it's an icon that belongs to a historical period. In short, the real scandal is the ignorance of history and art. PS the Moretto Veneziano portrays African nobility and is an inclusive act of appreciation and acknowledgment.
The Prince and Princess Michael if Kent, have theie own livelihood (not from public funds) yet, helps out with participating in royal events representing the Queen and Britain with no complaints. That's more than what can he said of the younger generation entitled brats H&M...just saying 🤔
I’ve enjoyed her historical books. And she loves cats so she can’t be all bad. Another example though of the father’s sins being visited on the offspring. What her father did may have been reprehensible but that’s hardly Princess Michael’s fault.
I've always wondered why she used her husband's name, but oh my, what a long name she has for herself. I guess if he is not a Duke or anything, then Princess Michael makes sense. I've never really known anything of their lives either but always admired them as a handsome couple. I get the impression she just gets on with the job, no matter what it is, and that is to be applauded.
@@simabelhinha4973 I know that, just as Catherine & Meghan did, but their husbands also had Duke titles so the women automatically became Duchesses and could use their own names with those titles. However, if they choose to be called Princess, as they can, then they cannot use their own names, they must use their husband's names as they are not born of royal blood. Princess Beatrice is an exception of course. She married a Count, therefore she is a Countess and a Princess and can use both with her own name. This is one of the reasons why it's hard to remove the Duke title from Harry, if they do, Meghan could call herself Princess Henry, which would be awkward for her as she is a feminist. However, she would still do it just to have a title.
@@cocojo2356technically, is a princess by husband name lower in rank than any duchess in her own right? I mean in term of the order of precedence of the royal ranking
@@EAlyahya No, but for the lady, it shows she does not have a title of her own since he is not a Duke, Earl or Baron too (his elder brother is obviously a Prince but he is also the Duke of Kent so his wife is known as the Duchess of Kent). So, since she cannot be a Duchess etc., she cannot call herself by her own name (like Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh). It would be the same if Harry loses all his titles (Dukes & Earls etc.), Meghan would have to call herself, Princess Henry of Wales (if she wanted to be known and addressed by a title) and that would be hard for her, being the feminist that she is, as it shows the title is his alone. Prince is a higher title than Duke, Earl or Baron, Count etc., but without another title, their partners are known by their husband's name to show they are married to a Prince and are part of the Royal Family. There are Dukes & Earl's etc., who are not Princes and not part of the Royal Family too. Dukedoms are usually gifted at marriage (by the Monarch) and are usually hereditary (I say usually only due to the fact that Edward's Duke of Edinburgh title will revert back to the Monarch when Edward dies), therefore pass down the family line to their sons etc..
i think there was a lot of jealousy and rivalry within the royals...she was an outsider and beautiful..enough said. i think they can be very cold and cruel at times.
It was said David Linkey, Princess Margaret son was ask what he would give to someone ge didn't like for Christmas. He answered a date with Princess Michael. I guess that said it all. In the book The Royals, after she married Prince Michael she would order maids in the home to come down off ladders so they could curtsy to ger. She sounds like a peach!
Again with Princess Michael it show how difficult it is marrying into the British Royal Family. None of them like anybody who is outgoing, independent and intelligent.
No their problem came when Charles and Diana were creating and renovation the biggest of the apartments at Kensington Palace. The Princess of Wales insisted they get on with the work... Which meant working late into the night and 7 days a week. No regard for the other residents. Prince Charles wrote and apologized and asked for understanding and tolerance. After Diana and Princess Michael had strong words... They never spoke again although, I'm assured Princess Michael tried a number of times to move on past this... For Diana It didn't happen.
@@Celisar1 I agree that women generally are not jealous of one another. However, Diana craved all the attention that she got once royal due to being neglected by her parents in her childhood. Marie-Christine seems to have had some exalted sense of herself that made her crave validation of that, which is silly because she's an accomplished woman. My comment related to those 2 women only.
Don’t really want to know about her in detail. I’m personally not interested in all the guff talked & written about her history & connections. I only know what I see and that is a woman full of self aggrandisement. The big ‘I am’. She speaks in a very affected way and was known to be constantly after freebie clothes and other goodies. Up for sale if you like, using Royal connections everywhere especially in the USA. She is however very photogenic and presents as posh, posh, posh. Not called Princess Pushy for nothing.
I'm a little less perturbed by her since I learned she loves cheetahs! lol. Oh, and she's apparently quite intelligent and has written several books. But mainly I do like photos of her when she was younger - quite a beauty!!
If Princess Michael lived in America, we would call her Princess Karen. Being elegant does not excuse her own racist tendencies. At 1:11 you have a picture of her wearing a blackface brooch. I remember when this became a “thing”. The “elegant racist” wore this black face brooch to her first meeting with Meghan and Harry. Whether you like Markel or not, Princess elegant is most definitely an ongoing problem the Windsors have with nasty rumors of racism. Princess Pushy? Way to go Princess Ann! 😂 It is interesting that Princess Pushy has many of the same complaints against her as Meghan. Pushy, doing things her own way.
Blackmoor brooches , not blackface, have nothing to do with racism or slavery. They depict Moorish aristocracy especially Balthazar, one of the the Kings who reputedly attended the infant Jesus in Bethlehem. Put the racist card away and try doing some research.
" Petergan7865 " Has it totally correct "Blackamoor" Brooches are not a symbol of racists leanings... Silly woman. This was Picked up By The Press... and they were just as ignorant. The Princess has a whole collection and beside its value and elegance The refence is to one of the three wise men The three Kings who brought gifts to the baby Jesus. No reference to slavery or racism... Stop looking for what is not there.
I don't know why? but- for me, the princess michael of kent has these plebeian ways that turns out to be tacky (and i don't like her). Probably it's because the way she talks- unbashing and blatant in away.
Ghastly woman. I have no time for the Harkles, but it was disgusting of her to wear a blackamoor brooch at an event that they were at. She is also known for constantly grubbing about for freebies, and was not suited when she had to pay reasonable rent for her grace a d favour apartment.

I watch these Royals and THINK ARE THEY REAL! I think Megan and Harry did the right thing GET AWAY FROM ALL THIS FAKE FAMILY! I also think Megan is beautiful, talented and a Good Mother. she wa too Beautiful and Upstaged Kate when she wad called THE PEOPLES PRINCESS! The British people LOVED Harry and Megan! THEN SUDDENLY almost overnite Megan was a BitchThree Cheers for Princess Michael! Do your own thinf! Love her! Like I did Megan!
My memory is when Megan was introduced to her Princess Micheal she was wearing her blackamore brooch. It's generally understood that the blackamore image reflects racism and slavery. I find this objectionable for two reasons: Wearing a symbol of slavery when meeting with Megan is quite rude. Additionally, she didn't say to Megan's face she objected to her presence in the Royal family due to her face. Rather, she resorted to passive aggression to make her point. Passive aggression is cowardly, and I hate a coward. She apologized later, but a day late and a shilling short.@@rebeccablackburn9487
Actually, I don't care about these privileged figures, but she is another Brexit subject and that makes her passable because there will be still news from them, in the economic scandals...
I'm not sure why Princess Michael is always one of the most disliked members of the royal family! I've always liked her. She is smart and intelligent and good hearted and strong. People just don't seem to take to her in that family. Sad.

To all of those who still think wearing a blackamoor brooch is racist:
The Moretto Veneziano is a traditional figure of Renaissance Venice, so much so that William Shakespeare also used a black-skinned man, Othello, for one of the most famous tragedies in a Venetian colony like Cyprus.
Her choice of when and where to wear it is telling. She has superficial charm, I'm sure. I don't know how far down that goes though.
@@lucialamprey2690 Exactly. Out of all the many dazzling brooches she owns, she chooses, for a wedding no less, the Blackamoor brooch.
Wasn't her father in the SS?
Well if she grew up in Australia, she should be down to earth.
And she’s not quite…,, down to earth’’ she had a few affairs… !!! And stepped with the left on the right foot…
@@adrianahalmi3337 oh my word. We wouldn’t tolerate this in Astraya!
They came to a gala event in Hongkong and were dubbed "Rent a Kent".
Just because she is not a Royal, she married into a Royal Prince, therefore she takes her husband name's title.
@@cocojo2356 I know that. See my response, please.
I personally think she was too beautiful & confident for the Royal women of that era.
Princess Anne doesn’t tolerate fools easily.
The English press never liked Princess Michael because she was a Catholic. Nothing more needs to be said.
I used find her very pretty
Fun fact : she is also related to Queen Marie Antoinette & Emperor Ceaser
Michael was tolt to be quiet after a interview the Queen said shut up ,and she did.
Can someone explain the blonde on the dukes other side in a few shots during this video she keeps on appearing what is her role ?
Amazingly experience life.
I once heard that she was known as ‘Marie Christine of Bondi Beach’. It does not have the same ring about it, does it?
I’ve noticed that he never fully ever closes the button on his shirt near his neck
I don't believe for one min she didnt know about her father🧐
i think there was a lot of jealousy and rivalry within the royals...she was an outsider and beautiful..enough said. i think they can be very cold and cruel at times.
Why did you not mention how many times Princess Pushy has been sued for plagiarism in her books, always settled privately, out of court.

We all have that one relative. Or 2.
We share a birthday, just 43 years apart...she older, lol.
She’s all class not trash like MM.
Anne doesn't care for her..... that says a lot. Called Meghan out too. She has good instincts.

Where on Earth is Prince Rebecca?
Who ?
Again with Princess Michael it show how difficult it is marrying into the British Royal Family. None of them like anybody who is outgoing, independent and intelligent.
You know them that well do you ?
Both Diana & Marie Christine were glamorous blondes who were perhaps jealous as to which would get the most attention.
News flash: women are seldom envious of each other
That’s a misogynistic myth.
@@hotoneinspai Princess Margaret was criticised for the same thing
@@Celisar1 What planet do you live on?
Don’t really want to know about her in detail. I’m personally not interested in all the guff talked & written about her history &
connections. I only know what I see and that is a woman full of self aggrandisement. The big ‘I am’. She speaks in a very
affected way and was known to be constantly after freebie clothes and other goodies. Up for sale if you like, using Royal
connections everywhere especially in the USA. She is however very photogenic and presents as posh, posh, posh. Not
called Princess Pushy for nothing.
So, according your pat labeling and bullying attitude, anyone who is a racist is a "Karen"? Just wow.
Blackmoor brooches , not blackface, have nothing to do with racism or slavery. They depict Moorish aristocracy especially Balthazar, one of the the Kings who reputedly attended the infant Jesus in Bethlehem. Put the racist card away and try doing some research.
Perhaps Katie should read her books. Blackamoor.
Must be American because ill-informed and doesn't know the difference between blackface and Blackamoor.
😂
" Petergan7865 " Has it totally correct "Blackamoor" Brooches are not a symbol of racists leanings... Silly woman. This was Picked up By The Press... and they were just as ignorant.
The Princess has a whole collection and beside its value and elegance The refence is to one of the three wise men The three Kings who brought gifts to the baby Jesus. No reference to slavery or racism... Stop looking for what is not there.
her father should've been brought to justice not live a long life
It is and was not illegal to be in the SS. Punishment is only necessary if he actually did something criminal.
Money cannot by class or style
How easy it is for the Pope to grant annulment for the wealthy.
What a pity that all that "royal lineage" did not confer some manners and empathy.

So she is a Princess but not Meghan or her kids!
Meghan can be a princess to- Princess Henry. That would be her official title. Just like Princess Michael.
I don't know why? but- for me, the princess michael of kent has these plebeian ways that turns out to be tacky (and i don't like her). Probably it's because the way she talks- unbashing and blatant in away.
So shes not even British lovely
Ghastly woman. I have no time for the Harkles, but it was disgusting of her to wear a blackamoor brooch at an event that they were at. She is also known for constantly grubbing about for freebies, and was not suited when she had to pay reasonable rent for her grace a d favour apartment.

Too much into herself! Annoying.
@dianacipollone But more of the royals are this way....
She was unpardonably rude to Meghan Markle. Enough said.
When?
My memory is when Megan was introduced to her Princess Micheal she was wearing her blackamore brooch. It's generally understood that the blackamore image reflects racism and slavery. I find this objectionable for two reasons: Wearing a symbol of slavery when meeting with Megan is quite rude. Additionally, she didn't say to Megan's face she objected to her presence in the Royal family due to her face. Rather, she resorted to passive aggression to make her point. Passive aggression is cowardly, and I hate a coward. She apologized later, but a day late and a shilling short.@@rebeccablackburn9487
No she wasn't. She wore a blackamoor brooch. Blackamoors are an ancient symbol of racial harmony and inclusivity. It was a kind gesture.
