@@AndrewAddisonUniqueDrewski980 you need to learn how to READ or some comprehension skills? I put a question mark after CFL legend did I not? I'm a BC Lions seasons ticket holder so yes I'm aware of his career and how it played out here in BC. I didn't imply he was a CFL legend I put a question mark after the comment I made. I wish him well now in New England hope it works out for him into a career.
Why did they sign him? Trever is way more valuable he’s not playing the competition trever is. Are they just gunna use him for running option plays? Bc he ain’t got a better arm then Lawrence let’s be real😂
@Crabby I think it was Kurt Warner who said when trying to make the NFL you don't look to join a team with the weakest starter, you find a team with the weakest qb2/qb3 that you think you can beat out for a roster spot
I think y'all will be pleasantly surprised. Been watching CFL for 50 years -- watched every game he's played. He's hands down the best CFL QB I've ever seen, and certainly a lot better than most in the US believe without having even seen him play.
These aren't really his highlights. You'll need to see the film of full games to understand how good he is. Most of these plays are busted coverage, or throwing deep to an open receiver. What impressed me most about Rourke was his timing, and accuracy in short/medium passes that are more common in the CFL and NFL than the long bombs shown here.
Hope he stays with the BC Lions and tries to make another run for the grey cup again but won’t be surprised if he ends up on an NFL team. Rourke really reenergized this BC Lions football team
I think Rourke comes back to the BC Lions. After each NFL tryout visit he has, teams signed scrub QBs like Montez, Morton. He has unfinished business by not winning a Grey Cup, should bet on himself, ball out and get a new deal from the BC Lions or record breaking NFL futures deal
@@davidbuswa9425 that’s what I hope happens. Play with the lions for at least two more years while winning a Grey cup and after developing more of his game he’ll be prepared to have a better shot of playing in the NFL

Well I know one thing for sure. All Lions fans are wearing sunglasses because with Nathan Rourke on the squad... THE FUTURE'S SO BRIGHT WE GOTTA WEAR SHADES!
Rourke is a tribute to Ohio University and the football played in the MAC. Considering Rourke is from Ontario, he is excellent roster value. It is perplexing why Johnny Football couldn't play this way in the CFL. It just goes to show that professional football in Canada is a lot more difficult than the NCAA.
@@levispanogle3637 Many ex-NFL QBs have played in the CFL and every one of them not named Flutie, has been mediocre to bad. The game is much more complex than the NFL and requires more than just height and a big arm.
Funny thing is as good as he is and he is great, he was not the best qb in the CFL last year, that would be Zach Collaros of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Nathan Rourke is a joke! in his best year (2022) he still only had the third best QB stats that season (Chad Kelly was better, and Zach Collaros was better)... all this narrative is a biased bandwagon!

Who never heard about him tell that throw in the preseason and now the legend begins!! 🎉 Edit side note: is the goal post meant to be in the middle of the end zone like that? that’s probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen 😅
American Football back then had the goal post in the front. College football moved it back in the 1920s, while the NFL moved it back behind the end zone in 1974. It made sense because their field was smaller and players would occassionally run into them due to lack of space. Canadian football had bigger fields (its even longer than a soccer field), so they kept their goal posts in front because the longer 20yd end zones would drastically reduce field goal percentages and discourage kicking if it was behind.
Many of these are often busted coverage throws, which happens in the NFL as well. There's that big field, five DBs and receiver friendly rules. CFL coverages are more complex than in the NFL, but that leads to more mistakes. A CFL DB is said to have the most miserable job in football. Probably half the DBs in the NFL would be failures in the CFL. That's not my opinion, but the assessment of a coach who spent almost his entire career in the NFL and NCAA. He spent the last couple of years of his career in Hamilton (I'm forgetting his name at the moment).
It's where the NFL posts used to be until they moved them back because teams were playing so conservatively, they were just kicking field goals. The NFL did it so as to make kicking field goals harder, to encourage teams going for touchdowns. The CFL never had that 'conservative' problem. It has nothing to do with player safety. That's a myth that was invented to avoid discussing the real reason.
