I mean the way your country is headed kids will learn about this event in 50 years the same way I assume the kids in North Korea are taught about their leaders: Trump will be called a hero and the Dems the enemies. Because the US sure isn't looking to be a democracy for long anymore. At this point you should make bets as to when the GOP fascist dictatorship is called.

There's implication that the bear pepper spray wasn't just that but had something far more an irritant inside. Many got sprayed but that's one of the leading suspicions.

Officer Goodman (literally a Good Man) deserves the medal of freedom and a good retirement.

I'm actually crying while watching this. I never thought something like this would happen on American soil. I feel like I live in a 3rd world country. Some Republican congressmen said their minds were already made up before the beginning of this impeachment and before the last Chump impeachment as well. They shouldn’t be able to participate. If I was selected for jury duty and said that, I should not be a juror. It’s ridiculous how blatant the partisan BS is. They no longer even attempt to hide their corruption or their contempt for the people and their belief that they are above the law. It’s disgusting.
Honestly I’m sure that the majority of Democrat congressmen and women are just as partisan and already have decided to vote by party on any issue before seeing all the information on it out of their partisan politics, greed and desire to hang on to or increase their power. Very few seem to show through their own words or actions that they care about the well being of their constituents who they seem to forget they are supposed to work for, particularly at that level (local politics are not as bad although there is plenty of corruption there as well.). They actually work for their campaign donors, lobbyists for special interests, the NRA in the case of Republicans and some Democrats who both take money from them.... and it is no secret. As far as I am aware no Democrat has had the arrogance or stupidity to come out and say they have already made up their minds. It doesn’t matter, though. It only means in most cases that they know how to play the game better. Due to gerrymandering, etc. (much of it perfectly legal yet still reprehensible) they don’t seem to even think they need to court votes anymore it seems.

Not likely. Remember that, thanks to how the electoral college works, Trump (arguably the worst president in history) was only a few thousand votes in 2-3 states from securing a second term. Against anyone other than Trump, Kanye, or Marjorie Taylor Greene, an uninspiring 84-year-old Biden stands almost no chance of winning in 2024. And even against those bottom-feeders it wouldn't be a sure thing.

I wonder how differently they'd be treating this if one congressman had died, especially if that congressman was GOP. I bet there would be a whole different tone to the situation. The thing is. Honestly, I think someone should call this a mistrial. The right to a fair trial is not being followed if the jurors aren’t paying attention to any of the prosecution’s arguments.
It's kind of silly that they're basically there to determine if their own party members did anything wrong. It's like the police investigating their own conduct. The outcome of any one person's vote is 90% certain, and was before this even started. It's stupid. There'd be a better chance of a 'fair trial' with a random assortment of citizen jurors.

If a Democratic president had done something like this, I can guarantee that the majority of Democrats would convict. On the other hand, the Democrats wouldn't run or elect anything like Donald Trump to begin with.
This isn't a "fair" trial. These aren't impartial jurors. But I'm getting quite an education, and i promise myself i will remember in 2022 and 2024.
