This ice-covered mountainous area has been taken over by Rhynocs. There aren't many locals here, but they're helpless against the enemy forces. So it's up to Spyro to help them out.

Oh, I remember the ballerina part. It's actually slightly confusing on PAL versions, as the ballerina's routine runs slightly slower than the music - so the audience starts cheering when there's still one more hockey player to take care of!
Omg, i used to LOVE the ice race track where you chase the thieves, even after i caught them both i would run on it for hours on end. Ah, childhood :)
Love the music in this level. Definitely in the top 5 from this game.
I used to be so good at this level as a kid (because this was the only level you could play in the demo discs I received in the mail)! Happy to see it being played because I forgot what game this was in.

Discovered a trick to get both thieves on "Icy Peak" for those having a hard time getting these guys. Go to the opening in the mountain that contains orbs and a small tunnel leading to the whirlwind that takes you up. Proceed to the second whirlwind that will float you to the final orbs of the level. From here you can see the area to land on for your skill point but the thieves are also in sight. Just float down and land near the thief and hit your fire breath at the same time. I got both of them this way before they could even start running and spared my sanity. Of course, this means you have to go up the whirlwinds three time to get both thieves and the skill point but is worth it if your sanity is in jeopardy.
My dad taught me this exact same trick :)

I always like snowy ice levels, not the physics though but love the way games animate snow and ice and water too.
Glad you're finally doing the third game. I was beginning to worry you wouldn't.
Finally, I get Google+ to let me make a freaking comment. I was going to tell you this yesterday, but Google+ lately has prevented me from commenting on anything, or liking comments. Its so weird.
Anyway, Kinda like the story I told you about Spyro demo from Pizza Hut on the Spyro 2 playthrough, I learned about the third installment via demo, but it wasn't from a handout playable demo from Pizza Hut, but rather a weird promotion that Sears did back when they actually sold consoles. They were doing a promotion for a large screen TV, PS1, and a copy of Spyro 3 that was redeemable when it was released, and they were letting customers play a demo level for the game to help interest them. And the only level on the demo was Icy Peak. I got so excited for the third game, but I didn't get to really enjoy the demo since my parents were Christmas shopping and were only in Sears for just one thing.
Anyway, so that's my little story. Great video John.

Yeah getting revenge on Moneybags was good in both games which is why even though he was a dill I loved paying him the gems just because I would get them all back. In the second it was great in the end to see Hunter sit on him so you could get the gems back and in this one charge and flame him and see all the gems fly out so you could get them back. :D
The challenge where you have to chase the thieves is one of my favourite parts of the game.
That's probably my favorite cut scene from the entire game lol

Mckell Harrop i used to do that when i was young, that red thief was very hard to catch. I don't remember how many times i went around the track.

I do that too. Actually I think that is why you get a skill point when you land there.
I do the same thing. If you go the back way and fly over to where the whirly thing is you can flame the red one first. Then do the same thing for the yellow and you don’t have to run around that damn track lol
I got the red one before the yellow one. I flamed him mid flight and it landed me on the track with the egg.

Having to redo the swamp area because of recording issues....that sucks....that place 2 of the most irritating eggs in the entire game

For some reason I cannot get to the underwater area on this level. Once I'm on the ice even directly above the crack I cannot jump up. I'm using the original version. Any suggestions?
I have the same issue too
+Kelsey Davis I also tried jumping from the little alcove above the area and it still doesn't break. Not sure what's going on with that.
+Carla Herrera I figured it out, it's in the video. Glide from the other side of the peak and head butt it from above the crack
