After Marisa has been fired in front of Chris in Lane's hotel suite. She rushes out of the hotel, Chris on her heels trying to understand. She explains herself and they conclude that they cannot be together, even if they have feelings for each other.

What’s the movie Maid in Manhattan about?
Marisa Ventura (Jennifer Lopez from The Boy Next Door and Hustlers) is a single mother who works in a posh Manhattan hotel and dreams of a better life for herself and her young son (Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf and Truth or Dare). One day, as a game, her colleague and friend Stephanie (Marissa Matrone) makes her put on an outfit of one of the richest clients of the hotel, Caroline Lane (Natasha Richardson from Gothic and The White Countess). Marisa enjoys this moment until the unexpected arrival of a hotel guest and senatorial candidate, Christopher Marshall (Ralph Fiennes from Red Dragon and Harry Potter), who enters the room without warning. It's love at first sight. After a delightful evening spent together, they both fall in love with each other. Marisa, uncomfortable, continues to play the role of Caroline Lane, who is desperate to get hold of the senator. When Marisa's true identity is revealed, issues of class and status threaten to separate them. The young woman is fired in the process. Can two people from very different worlds overcome their differences and live happily ever after?

It's stunning the movie implied what she did was right, even gets away with it. They portrayed Natasha's character as the bad one. Unbelievable!
When I was younger I was on Marissa's side, but now I totally sympathize with Natasha. Marissa was wrong and just plain creepy to do what she did.

She’s a mediocre actress.
She's not the strongest actress but she has had an impressive career in acting, singing, and dancing. I liked her in Selena, Maid in Manhattan, The Wedding Planner, The Cell, Enough, and Anaconda. I liked her a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and a Flygirl on In Living Color. I also liked her music from the late 90s to early 2000s.
