    It's always the smaller UA-camrs that explain these things the best. Well done.

    Before lumen and UE5 The first AAA game to adapt ray tracing was Metro Exodus and it looked amazing with simulated infinite light bounces while still performing better than modern games with raytracing or lumen.
    The issue with lumen currently is the over use of TSR and you can notice it on transparent objects like hair it becomes a noisy mess from a little distance.
    But using both baked lighting for static light while using lumen for dynamic light is the best way to get good results with very good performance.
    In 5.4 there is no Ray Traced reflection it has Screen space and Lumen reflections which looks way worse

      You're absolutely right, i don't like lumen at all that's why i still use UE 5.3.

      You're welcome, this video was important since there are no much videos about explaining the rendering pipelines.

      5.3 for Standalone Ray Tracing
      And 5.5 for Lumen and Path Tracing. Since path tracing and Lumen is updated in a new version of Unreal Engine.

      From project settings it's possible i guess.

      It's only available in Unreal Engine 5.3

    Thank you very much for the explanation, I have seen that at one point of yout video you could see water using path tracing, could it be that you have to activate something to visualise water using path tracing?

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  28 днів тому

      In 5.5 you can see water in the path tracing, and we can make water with Niagara system to make it visible in path tracing.

    Do You have any tips for creating mirrors in Unreal 5.5? for example Mirror in small room, bathroom... clear, and clear reflections... ? Regars and happy new year :D

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  Місяць тому +2

      Yes, you just need a plane with glass material and enable lumen reflections. It usually works perfectly or I'll try to make videos on reflections next time.

    It sounds like English is your second language. You should run your script through Chat GPT and ask it to fix your grammar mistakes. The AI voice will sound much better. (No shade, just an idea that I think will be helpful for your channel.)

    How is cyberpunk using fake pathtracing when theres an option to play it with pathtracing turned on?

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  3 дні тому

      There are mods that can boost the path tracing to a level where it doesn't look like a normal path tracing that was used in game development. That's why i called it a fake path tracing. Because it's not achievable in games without modding.

    Wait. So Path Tracing no longer exists in UE 5.5? It’s just Lumen now?

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  17 днів тому

      Path Tracing is available in 5.5.1, you can try it, and it's really better than older versions.

    Great overview for beginners. However I wish you would have clarified in more detail the differences between pathtracing and raytracing. And Raytracing is no longer an option for Global Illumination.

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  Місяць тому +1

      I will create a video about that with complete detail.

    Sorry to say this Unreal Engine 5 Lumen is a bunch of Crap, basically, it's a Screen Space Light and Shadows also slowly interact when you move your camera making ghosting and shadow fades

    Is this an AI genrated channel...

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  6 днів тому +1

      How unreal engine tutorials can be created with AI?

    • @yourlocalhuman3526
      @yourlocalhuman3526 6 днів тому

      @TheUnrealForge your question was the 1st question I asked myself before I posted the comment but then I thought that maybe the clips were taken from another channel.
      I didn't expect a small channel to have this good production quality. Plus the voice is ai generated. Apologies if I'm wrong.

    • @TheUnrealForge
      @TheUnrealForge  9 годин тому

      Oh yes, voice is AI generated because i don't have a good mic to record, and english isn't my first language. But all the tutorials are recorded on my own pc.
