In this video we are watching and discussing One Punch Man Season 1 Episode 2 "The Lone Cyborg". The mysterious organization known as The House of Evolution creates a monster that moves toward City Z; Genos, a young cyborg, attempts to stop it, but gets in over his head before Saitama happens along.

Like you saw in episode one with the crab monster, you can become a monster if you have an obsession. For example if you have an obsession with being strong you could turn into a monster with a lot of strength. For the powers you could either get them from training (physical abilities) or be born with them.
So Charli d'amelios creepy fans turn into Charlie d'amelio?. Crazy.
Actually there is practically nobody in the opm universe thats born with a power, as far as we know anyway.

I mean...Tornado and Blizzard where born with their powers. They TRAINED to make them stronger, but they where infact born with it. Much like a few other characters.

the only reason for Genos is so the viewer can comprehend how powerfull the villains actually are

You know, I'm usually a subs over dubs kind of guy, but god damn the English VA for Saitama is fucking great. His ability to switch between completely emotionless and screaming is really impressive, easily on par with the Japanese VA.
Dont miss the end credit.. i am not sure if you're watching but it has like RnM :)
Fun fact: They have a bunch of ''alphabetized'' cities here and Saitama is a real one in Japan

Not to start that old arguement but the dub for this show is bad the jokes dont hit the same and the voice acting is sub par like just be honest.

It might be less reacted to because it came out after people reacted to the first season. Anyone I have seen who started reacting to both seasons after season 2 came out went on to season 2... except the ones that didn't even finish season 1 that is.
There is a difference between the dabblers and the serious reactors, and these people are serious. You can tell they will finish season 2.
And there are people who complained about the quality of the animation in season 2, but they forget that season 1 had an animation dream team. They also forget or don't know the history of One Punch Man. The original artwork is really not great as a webcomic, but the story was top notch. Yusuke Murata really cleaned things up, but kept Saitama with his bland face and copied the art for the chibi Tatsumaki. (That's as spoiler as I will get.)

There is a fan theory that says saitama (one punch man) is a God know isn't aware he is a God. That's why all he did was like 100 push ups and 100 sit ups and that was enough
Nah the theory that I like is anyone obsessed enough about one thing can become it, a crab man, a truck vehicle guy, e.t.c where saitama obsession was obviously killing evil doers with one punch specifically

The moment you realise beast king's dub voice actor is A from naruto's voice actor *surprised pikachu face*
The mosquito thing is a gag, if Saitama really wants to, he can instantly kill the mosquito. In the manga, Saitama can move faster than the speed of light in order to look at the bald spot on the back of his head in the mirror even before he finishes his training (his hair only starts to fall then).
So the reason why he can't kill the mosquito is a joke that show how annoying it is to kill a mosquito IRL.
One Punch Man is so entertaining this is what I've always expected from anime🔥💯

Okay, let me explain a theory about powers that seems to be close to the truth. It's not technically a spoiler, as the show really never addresses it properly.
The idea is that heroes most of the time get their powers in way that fits their idea of a hero. That's why Saitama is so powerful. He said in the first episode that he sees a hero as someone that can "send villains flying with one punch". His idea is strength. Not cognitive abilities or anything else. As you can see from this episode, mosquito smashing is not part of his idea of a hero, haha. So in a way, he is human apart from overwhelming strength, as this is heroism for him.
As for monsters, it's mostly about overdoing something. They tend to each represent an obsession of a kind, especially in the beginning of the show.

@@ahmedjinan6600 it's basically the same take, just different angle. I would assume he sees it as being a part of overwhelming strength, as you would need to be invulnerable to withstand your own strength as you punch something or somebody. Or the easier way is to just say that Saitama views inviolability as a necessity for a perfect hero, same way as he views strength

Anton Koshenkov yeah I came up with the same conclusion, that a mosquito isn’t an evil doer therefore he can’t do anything to it, the entire OPM universe works like that, blast is probably the version of saitama who can defeat anyone good or bad with one punch, idk tho that is probably wrong

Hey guys, I don't know if someone already said it or not, and there's too many comments already to dig through, but most of the episodes have post credit scenes in them.
Saitama name his every moves, so you must remember those, slowly they will be classics.

On question for old school anime/ manga fans.
There was a movie from the 80s or 90s (it's not moanoke) about a girl and her brother. It starts with them coming across a bunch of hunters getting killed by a giant silver wolf who the kids defeat and later on they fight the literal inspiration for beast king in this episode.
The character design is almost identical to beast king and they fight him in a gladiators arena.
I have been trying to remember the name of this movie for years.

What are people’s thoughts on season 2? I never gave it a chance because of the direction switch
TJ Moore 1st episodes animation is garbage, but It picks up from there, by the 4th episode it’s actually pretty good, writing and voice actors are the same soo, I’d give it a watch.
Episodes 3 and 11 are some of the best animation in that season. The rest is pretty blegh. I suppose the plus side is it's nowhere near as bad as the train wreck that was SDS season 3. Watch it, yes, but don't get your hopes up too much.

Yes one punch man makes fun of superhero shows and such, for example Superman. Somewhat of the “Superman” trope. It seemingly does make fun of “anime” but also shows in general (not to say all anime’s or shows are all the same) But it definitely isn’t just satire. Don’t let people’s opinions of shows sway your own opinions too much.

I recommend Violet Evergarden. Good animation and a very good story.
Playing minecraft in creative mode all the time can get pretty boring. This is why I only play Dragon Ball The Breakers, and the Saints Row Reboot. And occasionally modded minecraft. You can actually made a super powered human with Dragon Block C, although I find you need addons for a gal character, even if the only change is how much more visibly sexist the mod is. Like, really the only change, not even audio. You do get to have a chest, but only the desegnated "male" characters have minecraft bods, and "female" characters have waistlines in the micrometers. They do have a more Frieza like physique though. Oh, and you can play as that race. I forget the name of it.

Since it's not a spoiler:
Characters in this series get their powers by (believe it or not) wanting them badly enough.
You saw a crab man who loved crab so much, he became a crab. A car man who loved cars so much, he became one. And then there's Saitama, who wanted to be a hero so bad that he became the most powerful entity in all of anime (and one of, if not the strongest in all fiction).
Instead of just saying "wanting it badly enough" I'd say that they're consumed by their obsessions. Crablante didn't want to become a crabmonster, but he was obsessed with eating crab to the point where he became a crab monster.
Pretty sure theres some sort of social commentary in there about letting your obsessions consume you until you lose your humanity.
