Overnighter at Chiva Falls

In search of water, I head up into the mountains of southern Arizona to find it. The location is reddington and the trail is Chiva falls. Well known for being a rough jeep trail, the new back route in is fairly graded. I wouldn’t call this an overland trip any more than I’d call it car camping, but the group that joins me this weekend is made up of some pretty sweet overland rigs, a Tacoma, suburban, jeep and Land Cruiser along with my tundra all rally to have a really great Friday night camp and rock crawl.

My brother Hunter used to go to Redington pass almost every weekend in high school back in 2010 and 2011, I would ride along with him in his 1995 Isuzu Trooper a few times. Redington Pass is beautiful! He went to Chiva Falls a few times and always loved it. Tanque Verde Falls is beautiful too but dangerous in monsoon season.

Moving to New Mexico soon and getting a Tacoma next month. My truck got stolen but I couldn’t do anything with it, and really want to get into overlanding (grew up camping and former Marine so camping isn’t new but off-roading definitely is.) Been watching your channel to learn a few things and to also discover places to check out. Keep up the work man you’re crushing it!
