Agree, but Zeppelin owns the top 2 song live performances ever. 1973 live at Madison Square Garden "Since I've been loving you," and live at Albert Hall "I' can't quit you baby." Queen at aid right the only other song in that league. AC/DC Live at River Plate is the overall best concert of all time.
Linkin Park was amazing live. They put their whole body and soul into their performances, no lip syncing, and were physically exhausted at the end at sets.

Whilst Queen are lauded for their multiple mainstream hit songs and Live Aid performance, their back catalogue of lesser known tracks is phenomenal. Seeing the boys live several times, I can attest that there is nothing that can compare to Queen on stage...They were all 4, inimitable Gods.
They still exists - Roger Taylor, 72 and Brian May, 75. They have Adam Lambert as frontman and Spike Edney on keys - Neil Fairclouff on bass and an extra drummer I don't remember his name. They just ended a tour in Europe in may, June and July - sold out everywhere. 😀
Saw Rammstein live in 2005. One of the greatest nights of my life. They're truly something live especially their use of pyrotechnics. Will be a fan for life.
Queen's Live Aid show was a pivitol moment in Rock history, but considering that their back catalogue consists of dozens of monumental rock anthems, and the fact that Freddie commanded the stage every single time, i think it's safe to say Queen is a hard act to follow at a live show.
No Van Halen? Seriously? These guys were untouchable during the David Lee Roth-era. Even Black Sabbath were afraid to go on stage after VH opened for them on tour blowing the roof off arenas every single night.
Thank You! I have vowed to not watch this channel anymore and I unsubscribe after being a subscriber for 8-12 years or more who knows! F WatchMojo. This title was literally written for VH and for them to not be on here? Hahaha TRASH! They had 24 bands(with the Honorable Mentions) and no VH? Led Zeppelin shows were captivating and pure awesomeness from the beginning till the end and the improvisation alongside their chemistry is unmatched. Madison Square Garden (1973), Earls Court(1975), Royal Albert Hall(1970), Danmarks Radio(1969) and even Knebworth(1979) Is just pure perfection when it comes to live performances. Except live aid, we don't talk about that one😬. R.I.P John Bonham 🥁🕊️
To give an idea how great Queen was, they were the first band to figure out how to actually profit from only playing football stadiums. They knew the performance was the most important thing. Not everything around it to distract you. When every rock band was utilizing extreme amounts of pyro, which costs a shit ton of money, Queen only used a then state of the art lighting rig. Most lead singers would just stand in one place because that was where the mic stand was. Freddie had just the top half of a mic stand and went all over the stage. Queen were the ones who really introduced fan interaction by encouraging them to sing with them, or for them for a song like "Love of my life". There's a reason why almost every single modern band says their number 1 inspiration was Queen. They were the total musical package.
Queen is absolutely the best band in my opinion also. Love several bands you named, but it all comes back to Queen! I have seen several you listed live including Queen. John Deacon is my favorite bassist. He once said, "I bought the whole bass, I'm gonna play the whole bass."
Rammstein is a awesome band to see live. They deserve to be much higher on this list. Easily in the top 10! Nine Inch Nails also gives one hell of a live show. They definitely deserve to be on that list way more than most of those older has been bands.
This is still a good list considering it has Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, KISS, Rammstein etc., even though the best live rock band for the last 15 years i.e. Muse not in the list.
I’m totally not a Rammstein fan. I maybe know 1 song. But i was at one of their concerts 2 weeks ago and man… their shows are next level. Never seen something like it. The sky was pitch black because of the smoke. It was insane. Definitely one of the best shows ive even not only witnessed but seen
Wonderful list, but Muse deserved at least an honorable mention… Saw them live twice and in both times they were simply flawless and they continuously give it their all every single time they are on stage… A lot of magazines named them one of the best modern live acts out there, if not the best
Alice in Chains (with Layne) at least honorable mention. Even their soundchecks were better than most bands live shows or albums. Layne brought them perfect melt your face off lyric deliveries and combined with Jerry's harmonies and guitar skills..damn I miss Layne😞
Pearl Jam has been amazing live consistently for 30+ years. Surprised they were not on the list. I also think Van Halen would be on the list if they called it quits after 1984. Those Diamond era shows were insane.
Queen live at Wembley was one of the best live concerts ever. Don't know who you take off the list but Emerson, Lake and Palmer, ZZ Top and Rush deserved a spot.
I'm lucky (and old enough) to have seen these artists live: Deep Purple, Guns 'n' Roses, AC/DC, Queen (with Adam Lambert), Def Leopard, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Eric Clapton, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, The Prodigy, U2, Billy Joel, America, Chicago, Peter Frampton, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Foo Fighters, Hole, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Doobie Brothers, Carlos Santana, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Audioslave, Liverpool, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Atrayu, My regret is not being able to see Led Zeppelin, Queen (with Freddie Mercury), The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and Hendrix live. I did okay all in all. Loving music is a lifestyle. You want to be there? Make the effort. Rock on to everyone!
Wow, that's a lot of concerts! I haven't seen half of your list but have seen some listed too. But I did see led zeppelin (twice) and the who, and pink Floyd (Animals tour)in the 70s.
I've seen over 300 most of what was on his list, but alot more .Bruce is the greatest live entertainer ever. Queen for as great as they where they couldn't do what Bruce and Pearl Jam does. 3 hour shows whilst changing the setlist completely every night whilee still being great at the same time. Atleast that is my opinion.
That's a great live music CV (mine is similar to yours but mainly metal bands) but with one glaring omission (according to your list)...Slipknot! No one has lived until they have seen Slipknot...

I remember years ago going to see Metallica live with Slayer and Slipknot opening for them, and seeing Iron Maiden at PNC, but the best concert I've ever seen was AC⚡DC in Giants stadium, those guys know how to put on a show
Muse not being in the list and not even as honorable mention is just criminal... Knights of Cydonia at Wembley Stadium is basically the best 240p video on UA-cam Plug in baby at the Rome Stadium is just WOW, the whole stadium jumping and waving their hands, the fans singing, the lights just SUPERB. Most of their lives are better than their studio version
I am definitely a fan of most of these great bands. But, to not have Rush on this list is criminal! They always gave their fans a great show that lasted 2 plus hours! They should be top 5 on this list!
I agree and for me to have Van Halen left off the list as well is a tragedy. They were considered one of the biggest headliners during those DLR years and it was one big party the entire time. I saw the 1984 tour as a 9th grader and it was like a giant party
@@exorcist1998 - You’re absolutely correct Russ. I don’t know why I thought it was ‘97, after all I’ve still got the ticket stub tucked inside the souvenir programme so there’s no excuse!
Alice Cooper. If you're a fan of Alice I don't even need to explain. If you're not, go watch some of his shows. Even today, at 76, the man puts on a better, more cohesive stage show than some performers a quarter of his age.
@@miguelalejandro4357 not as good as Queen, I will admit Pink Floyd is definitely one of the best but Queen has the edge. Queen covered more ground than any other band, Led Zeppelin focused mostly on blues rock and some prog. PF was a prog rock band for most of it's prime. Queen did pop, disco, glam rock, prog rock, hard rock, heavy metal, blues, rockabilly, and even flamingo. They also were the band that invented thrash metal and even created some anthems. Queen was never out of it's prime, some people say they lost it after the 70's which isn't true. In the 80's there were songs like Another One Bites The Dust, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Save me, Play The Game, It's a Hard Life, Hammer to Fall, One Vision, I Want to Break Free, I Want It All, and Under Pressure. They even kicked off the nineties with great songs like These Are The Days Of Our Lives, Show Must Go On, and Mother Love. It's obvious Queen is slightly better, of course I could see why you would pick LZ or PF over Queen.
Also I have to agree with Muse. It IS criminal that they aren't on this list. I was a casual fan up until I saw them in 2010...then I became a total fan. Incredible live show.
No Beatles and No INXS The Beatles have some of the most iconic (If not the most iconic) live performances for example the Ed Sullivan show and the Rooftop performance INXS during their time were the most technically best live group and also had an amazing stage presence and excitement Compared to a lot of other groups they were able to sound straight off of a studio recording and their studio recordings were recorded in such a way that made a live sound Just watch live performances such as Oz For Africa (Live Aid), Rocking the Royals and their iconic Wembley (Live Baby Live) performances (one of the best live performances of all time) or just listen to any live performance of theirs (specifically between 1984 to 1992)
I noticed that too, Rush has a loyal following but never made it BIG in the U.S. & Europe. The members were pretty low-key off the stage, without a lot of drama getting free publicity.
A friend talked me into going with him to see AC/DC in 1988. I certainly was familiar with AC/DC and was listening to their albums when Bon Scott was their singer. I had never seen them live though and lost track of what they were up to as the years passed. I was never a hard core AC/DC fan and the only album I owned personally was Back in Black. It didn't know what to expect but man did they put on a show. I had been to 25-30 concerts at that point in my life but AC/DC was hands down the best performance of any rock band I had seen. I'm not exaggerating how tight they were and sonically they blew away everyone I had seen. Angus Young was truly a force of nature and I had underestimated his level of talent and skill.
I saw them first in 1983. 33 more times since then. Wish I could eat a quaalude, snort coke and pass joint after joint with everyone around me while being deafened by them like back then. It was worth having tinnitus
It's a crime Van Halen isn't on this list. Every show I seen them since 1984 to last one they were tight. One of the best live acts whom ever the lead singer was. There are only a few band's on this list I agree should be on this list like Queen. Queen being No.1 I agree with.
I've seen vh numerous times I always thought they sounded like crap.eddies guitar was way to high and drowned out the vocalist no matter who the vocalist was
@@christophermorris2434 you obviously didn't go to the ones when they first came on with David Lee Roth up until the Sammy Hagar years. Even if Dave sounded like crap or not it was one big party the entire time. Eddie was amazing live as I saw them again before he passed away in 2015 on their reunion tour with Dave. They absolutely should have been on this list
I literally unsubscribed it will not watch another watch Mojo because of Van Halen not being on the list they one of the biggest headlining bands for a good 10-year stretch
Being the metalhead that I am, I've seen just about all the metal bands you put on this list and I'm glad you included as many as you did. Heavy metal doesn't get as much mainstream attention as it deserves especially when it comes to live shows. I'm also really glad you put Iron maiden in the highest spot for metal bands, they really do put on a show unlike any other and there's a very good reason why they're my favorite band.
Where is RUSH?!?!?! 40+ years of music and their power as a trio, they were some of the best musicians in the Rock Genre, and their live shows were phenomenal!!
Because WatchMojo is trash now. They even make it seem like Rush would be with the music at beginning. And where the hell was Van Halen the daily walk the era was known as a party Band and one hell of a big ass show every time they came to a town. Springsteen n Prince are considered solo artists. I don't care about their little "band" that they use as a name like the Revolution or The E Street Band. They have multiple players that can be inserted at any given night to form those little "bands" of theirs, so they are considered solo artists to me. F WatchMojo
VH and Rush belong on this list. Triumph does too, if we're strictly talking about a quality live sound and not worrying about how many hits a band had.
I unsubscribe to the channel and I gave a bad review of this top 20 live bands. They weren't even an honorable mention which names it 24 total. F WatchMojo! They literally had Springsteen and Prince saying the weren't just solo artist which they are. VH has to be on this list!!!
I saw every tour from Permanent Waves, to R40, I didn't even want to go to that first show but my brother made me. Life changing. We will not see their like again, best live shows ever.
I’ve seen Rush at least 35 times since the Power Windows show in Detroit. I consider myself lucky to have been alive at the right time to have experienced decades of Rush shows.
I saw Rammstein recently and I can confirm they are amazing live, one of the best shows I've been to. I hope I get to see them again! Biffy Clyro are also amazing live
Yes, I was at the SARS concert in Toronto. ACDC killed it, and made the Rolling Stones (the closing band) look bad. A number of people, like myself left early.
@@BWyatt76 Dude,The Rolling Stones are complete kings onstage but ACDC look like weak chickens in comparison, and The Rolling Stones are also WAY older Band than ACDC! Because ACDC started as recently as in 1973(and that means that they are even one year younger than Aerosmith!),and that’s definetly not Rock And Roll! but TheRolling Stones have been existing already since 1963!!!!!!!!!!!!and to been existing for that long is definetly more Rock And Roll than ACDC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Who makes these lists?! Once AGAIN … RUSH and FOO FIGHTERS nowhere to be seen ?!?! Has any of these list makers been to or even seen either of these bands live??? WTF 🤦🏻♀️ Not even honorable mention (who all should’ve flat out been on list) Don’t get me wrong, every one of these bands deserves to be on list - but seriously make the damn list longer!
Because they added solo artists that they shouldn't have like Bruce Springsteen and Prince. I don't care what they say about their quote unquote band that they have they are considered solo artists and took the spot of Alice Cooper and Van Halen
For me:- 5. AC/DC 4. Rage Against The Machine 3. Green Day 2. Metallica 1. Slipknot (early years). No band will ever come close to replicating the excitement/euphoria in a live show as these guys did in the early 00s.
How RUSH and Judas Priest aren’t in this list is just mind boggling! With respect to all the included artists, JP epitomizes Metal, and RUSH……. Cmon, seriously?
Saw Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl in 1988 for the Music For The Masses Tour and it is still one of the best concerts I have ever been to. DMB always has great live shows.
Honestly I would've put AC/DC in the top 5 cause they're so damn good live. Also, Where is Genesis, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Van Halen, Linkin Park, Green Day, Dire Straits and Motorhead? Those bands are great live too.
@@BoynamedMagnus183 Yes they do, If you don't like AC/DC, I don't like you. The fact is that AC/DC are one of, if not the greatest hard rock band of all time. and AC/DC are one of the best live bands I've ever heard, they've always remained consistent and never let the fans down compared to some bands. They are one of the best selling artists of all time and always sound amazing when the play in the studio and on stage
@@joshuavenables7912 look,ACDC are extremely overrated because they never did discover other genres in their whole career other than Rock And Roll and Hard Rock, and trust me,i know what are great and Crappy music are, because i am currently now in the music buissness!

@@williamsummerson1204 Zeppelin is better than Floyd and Queen in my opinion, in every aspect (vocals, bass, keyboards, guitar, and most notably drums)
I was hoping Foo Fighters would make the list. I thought they put on an awesome show, especially at 3 hours long. I also would have loved for Def Leppard to be on the actual list. I've seen them live several times and they always put on a dynamic, polished concert.
You simply can't have a top live bands without Slipknot. One of the best live bands for sure. There's a difference between great bands and great LIVE bands....
Love the list! Only thing tho is you guys definitely should’ve put Alice Cooper in the top 10 maybe too 5 even. His shows are simply amazing from all his costumes and theatrics to his songs
Surprised Metallica didn’t crack top 10, but glad they at least made the list. Also incredible live is original Queensryche. Geoff Tate’s soaring operatic vocals were simply amazing!!
When I saw the clip from Rush at the beginning of the video, I watched on, curious to see where they ended up on the list. But when they were completely left off, I was left scratching my head. I mean, they're known for their live shows. And yet the band you teased at the beginning didn't even make your "honourable mentions" list? And, oddly, after saying this was only a list of bands, you put Prince and Springsteen on it. Now both singers were ably backed up by quality musicians. And at least you listed "Prince and the Revolution". The E Street Band was completely left off. As much as the backing musicians were talented and added to the performance, though, they weren't intrinsic. They were, especially with Prince, replaceable, which his purpleness demonstrated over the years. Meanwhile, Springsteen dropped the E Street Band entirely for a while starting with his Tunnel of Love album (leaving aside the fact that his fans that I know universally panned the move). So, while Prince and Bruce Springsteen were great acts, they don't fit the parameters you laid out for the list.
Wait... No RUSH?!! I saw them on Presto... It was unreal... I have been to HUNDREDS of gigs & fests, played my share of them and I understand no love for the live prowess of less popular non-mainstream GODS OF THE STAGE like Gwar, Mercyful Fate/King Diamond, Manowar (for metal's sake!!), Overkill, Monster Magnet, Cradle of Filth, Napalm Death, Tsjuder (Black Metal's most commanding live three piece), Gorgoroth (like seeing a concert in Satan's own firey basement), Electric Wizard, Monolord, Immortal, Big Business, Black Cobra, Lo Pan, GG Allin (punk rock gig or no holds barred street fight/very disturbing sex show), Mayhem, Candlemass, Black Witchery, Necroholocaust, Amom Amarth, Weregoat, Cryptopsy, Gojira, Dying Fetus, Blue Oyster Cult, Taake, Revenge, Torche, Opeth, Cannibal Corpse, and so many other sick live acts... BUT NO RUSH?! I feel so bad for all the young fans of music that is performed on stage by actual instrumentalists that will not ever be able to experience the actual pure EPICNESS of RUSH live! The lights, lasers, rabbits popping outta hats or whatever interactive set pieces they used, the film footage that coincided with the set list, Aimee Mann's vocal on "Time Stand Still" coming disembodied from the center of the arena... They were pure rock n roll majesty! Omfg, while typing this, I realized ALICE COOPER, MOTORHEAD, JUDAS PRIEST, PRIMUS, SLIPKNOT, THE STROKES (so tight and the crowd is like a cult), and TOOL didn't even make this piece's honorable mentions list!! But fuggin Springsteen, RATM (every song sounds exactly the same with no dynamic shift in tempo or intensity, just a buncha bitching before, during, and after songs), GNR (who cancelled shows in detroit so many times, I gave up! It was for a girl anyway. Blah!) and I LOVE Black Sabbath, but when I saw them Tony Martin was on vocals and it was VERY... Um... Not good. He made "Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath" sound like a William Shatner cover version. Also. I've seen Slayer 5 times... 4 times, they murdered Metallica's live output of any Era, but once it was during "Diabolos In Musica" and that was an absolute shitshow. Not only did they forsake all but maybe 2 songs from before "Seasons In the Abyss", but there was a noticeable lack of headbanging or intensity and Tom Araya swung his hips from side to side like a weak old poser metronome during all their "Nü-Slayer" songs. It was falling to your knees, looking to the sky with hands grasping for God's throat, asking "WHHHHYYYYYYY?!" And I also expected to see Ghost & Mastodon here, but you hadta have goddamn Springsteen's froggy sweaty one note melodrama on here instead. Springsteen.
3 of the GREATEST LIVE BANDS EVER!!!! 1. Bouncing Souls 2. Alkaline Trio 3. TIGER ARMY I've never seen bands SOOOOOOOOOOO ON POINT to where they're basically CD quality!!!! Especially Bouncing Souls! They'll be SCHWASTED!!! and still play sooooo GOOD!!! saw them play VERY early in the day at WARPED TOUR in like '04 or '05 and they were LIT UP!!! But they were ON POINT!!! as a musician I can hear by ear rather a note is on Pitch or in Key! The singer Greg just KILLS IT!!! All those bands! Probably the ines I've seen most. Also MISFITS. Graves was AMAZING live!!!!! I was at the show in Orlando FL where they broke up!!! That was a "Wtf just happened?" As almost all the members exit at separate times! Jerry still stood out there and played a 138 by himself and sang with the whole crowd. Then stayed to sign stuff and take pics with EVERY PERSON still left there!!!

Rammstein is a awesome band to see live. They deserve to be much higher on this list. Easily in the top 10! Nine Inch Nails also gives one hell of a live show. They definitely deserve to be on that list way more than most of those older has been bands.
Ikr. Kept expecting to see nin, but they never came.
There's a lot of more modern bands that deserve the nod over the old guys
These guys might as well work for Rolling Stone
This is still a good list considering it has Queen, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, KISS, Rammstein etc., even though the best live rock band for the last 15 years i.e. Muse not in the list.
You’ve got the Number one best band live correct. Queen absolutely rocked the stage for every concert they had. Always number one in my heart and soul
True
Wonderful list, but Muse deserved at least an honorable mention… Saw them live twice and in both times they were simply flawless and they continuously give it their all every single time they are on stage… A lot of magazines named them one of the best modern live acts out there, if not the best
Alice in Chains (with Layne) at least honorable mention. Even their soundchecks were better than most bands live shows or albums. Layne brought them perfect melt your face off lyric deliveries and combined with Jerry's harmonies and guitar skills..damn I miss Layne😞
THIS RIGHT HERE
Pearl Jam has been amazing live consistently for 30+ years. Surprised they were not on the list. I also think Van Halen would be on the list if they called it quits after 1984. Those Diamond era shows were insane.
Pearl who? Was that a breakfast cereal?
@@malcolmharing3744 you're missing out
@@malcolmharing3744 Wait, you don't what Pearl Jam is?
I actually unsubscribed because VH was left off and I left a bad comment 🤣🖕🖕🖕
Queen live at Wembley was one of the best live concerts ever. Don't know who you take off the list but Emerson, Lake and Palmer, ZZ Top and Rush deserved a spot.
I'm lucky (and old enough) to have seen these artists live:
Deep Purple, Guns 'n' Roses, AC/DC, Queen (with Adam Lambert), Def Leopard, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Eric Clapton, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, The Prodigy, U2, Billy Joel, America, Chicago, Peter Frampton, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Foo Fighters, Hole, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, The Doobie Brothers, Carlos Santana, Rod Stewart, Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Audioslave, Liverpool, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Atrayu,
My regret is not being able to see Led Zeppelin, Queen (with Freddie Mercury), The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and Hendrix live.

I remember years ago going to see Metallica live with Slayer and Slipknot opening for them, and seeing Iron Maiden at PNC, but the best concert I've ever seen was AC⚡DC in Giants stadium, those guys know how to put on a show
@diascrive nice 😎
Some could say that they could make the HokiPoki rock
Muse not being in the list and not even as honorable mention is just criminal...
Knights of Cydonia at Wembley Stadium is basically the best 240p video on UA-cam
Plug in baby at the Rome Stadium is just WOW, the whole stadium jumping and waving their hands, the fans singing, the lights just SUPERB.
Most of their lives are better than their studio version
Lynyrd Skynyrd was a class act , they were not heavy metal ,but they soundef just as good live as any group you listed
Queen is one of the greatest band of all time!
I saw The Who live in 2016 and they’re definitely worth seeing live in concert
I am definitely a fan of most of these great bands. But, to not have Rush on this list is criminal! They always gave their fans a great show that lasted 2 plus hours! They should be top 5 on this list!
I agree and for me to have Van Halen left off the list as well is a tragedy. They were considered one of the biggest headliners during those DLR years and it was one big party the entire time. I saw the 1984 tour as a 9th grader and it was like a giant party
I saw The Rolling Stones in 1970. They did put on a great show. I can still see Mick Jagger in my mind’s eye cavorting across the stage.
I saw the Stones in their first concert after Charlie Watts passed away. It was in St. Louis, MO. Their tribute to Charlie was so heartwarming.
Not even a huge Muse fan but it's insane they aren't on this list their live performances are as good as the studio versions.
At least as good. Mostly they are superior.
They suck
Agreed! After seeing them live this year I've become a huge fan of them. Unreal performers!
Talking Heads should be here. Stop Making Sense the best concert movie of all time. RIP Jonathan Demme❤️☮️🖖
Queen is and always will be Rock Royalty and every member of the band are legends. There is no other choice for the #1 spot on this list.
I have been to two Pink Floyd concerts and those were the most unforgettable concert experiences of all time.
I saw Roger Waters just a few years back... It was psychedelic mastery! Though I felt his version of "Wish you Were Here" was a tad cringey.
Saw them at Earl’s Court in ‘97. Brilliant.
Saw them in Oakland California for the Animals tour. Awesome!
@@AtheistOrphan Pink Floyd never played anywhere in 97. They played Earls Court for 14 shows in October 94. I was there the night they filmed Pulse.
Yes! Amazing live shows
Bowie (particularly with The Spiders From Mars), Talking Heads, Radiohead, James Brown & The JBs, The Grateful Dead, The Clash - glaring omissions.
Metallica concerts are pretty special. Great list, i would have squeezed the cure, David bowie and nine inch nails somewhere on it
Queen really is the best.
Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are superior ! Led zeppelin during 1969-1972 were gods
I agree. No one touches Queen.
It's obvious Queen is slightly better, of course I could see why you would pick LZ or PF over Queen.
,....After Thin Lizzy
Also I have to agree with Muse. It IS criminal that they aren't on this list. I was a casual fan up until I saw them in 2010...then I became a total fan. Incredible live show.
No Beatles and No INXS
The Beatles have some of the most iconic (If not the most iconic) live performances for example the Ed Sullivan show and the Rooftop performance
INXS during their time were the most technically best live group and also had an amazing stage presence and excitement
Compared to a lot of other groups they were able to sound straight off of a studio recording and their studio recordings were recorded in such a way that made a live sound
Just watch live performances such as Oz For Africa (Live Aid), Rocking the Royals and their iconic Wembley (Live Baby Live) performances (one of the best live performances of all time) or just listen to any live performance of theirs (specifically between 1984 to 1992)
How is it that Rush was shown at the start of this video, but not on this list?
Great list. I agree with Queen being number one. But can someone explain to me how Rush didn’t make that list? Top 5 at the very least.
I noticed that too, Rush has a loyal following but never made it BIG in the U.S. & Europe. The members were pretty low-key off the stage, without a lot of drama getting free publicity.
Or VH. List is TRASH now
Freddy was a God of music in a human body
Bons better
I saw them first in 1983. 33 more times since then. Wish I could eat a quaalude, snort coke and pass joint after joint with everyone around me while being deafened by them like back then. It was worth having tinnitus
Two bands I feel that were overlooked, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and the Eagles. Saw both bands perform live and both were phenomal shows.
Great list with Queen #1 and Pink Floyd #2, maybe Red Hot Chilli Peppers and System of a Down should be listed.
Agree rhcp should have been included and so many others so when the rest of t here bands gonna b addsd
My personal top five(bands I’ve seen), Aerosmith, Slipknot, Metallica, Black Stone Cherry & Pearl Jam. In no particular order.
It's a crime Van Halen isn't on this list. Every show I seen them since 1984 to last one they were tight. One of the best live acts whom ever the lead singer was. There are only a few band's on this list I agree should be on this list like Queen. Queen being No.1 I agree with.
I've seen vh numerous times I always thought they sounded like crap.eddies guitar was way to high and drowned out the vocalist no matter who the vocalist was
@@christophermorris2434 Ew...Theyre genuinely one of the best bands of all time, and I love their studio work
@@christophermorris2434 you obviously didn't go to the ones when they first came on with David Lee Roth up until the Sammy Hagar years. They absolutely should have been on this list
I literally unsubscribed it will not watch another watch Mojo because of Van Halen not being on the list they one of the biggest headlining bands for a good 10-year stretch
RUSH is by far the best band live. What a class act!
🤘🤘🤘
Queen the legend
Being the metalhead that I am, I've seen just about all the metal bands you put on this list and I'm glad you included as many as you did. Heavy metal doesn't get as much mainstream attention as it deserves especially when it comes to live shows. I'm also really glad you put Iron maiden in the highest spot for metal bands, they really do put on a show unlike any other and there's a very good reason why they're my favorite band.
Funny how classic rock bands are always top on any rock list. Definitely the golden age of rock music
F WatchMojo
@@rothed16Now? Don't you mean "always"?
There can only be one band deserved to be Number 1... We all know who they are.
A wise man once said... "And now, our host for this evening the bony rolls."

Def Leppard should have landed on the chart. They still put on a good show till this day.

Aerosmith??
Number 1: AC/DC
No debate, nothing. My ears still ring from a concert back in 2015.
Yes, I was at the SARS concert in Toronto. ACDC killed it, and made the Rolling Stones (the closing band) look bad. A number of people, like myself left early.
tennitis is not a measure for a concert success, but glad you enjoyed it

How the hell could you miss out Alice Cooper? His shows are pure theater.
Because they added solo artists that they shouldn't have like Bruce Springsteen and Prince. I don't care what they say about their quote unquote band that they have they are considered solo artists and took the spot of Alice Cooper and Van Halen
For me:-
5. AC/DC
4. Rage Against The Machine

I'm shocked Foo Fighters weren't on here either. Not even in the honorable mentions
You simply can't have a top live bands without Slipknot. One of the best live bands for sure. There's a difference between great bands and great LIVE bands....
Cause there cheesy, they were a joke in metal world
I would have been happier had y'all included David Bowie somewhere, but Queen certainly would have been an epic show to see.
Metallica is garbage ngl
