    Because the 70’s is probably the best decade in the history of recorded music.

    It’s a black genre and that was a peak era in black music if we’re calling a spade a spade. even if we don’t listen to it ourselves most black americans have heard these 70s classics from and OG at one point or another.

    It’s when Hip Hop started, if Hip Hop started in 1973, even a break like “Funky President” actually came out after Hip Hop. So something about the musical values of Hip Hop are rooted in that ‘70s music. Even the electronic aspect of Hip Hop started in the 1970s with Kraftwerk and other bands. If you study the original breaks you basically have the formulas for Hip Hop.

    Even producer didnt give enough credits to producers in the title 💀 Are rappers using the samples 70s or their producers do? And what rapper has to do is to say "yo this one is aight ima take it". Then spit same bars about drugs and hoes/girls like 376428 times before

    • @s.h.8153
      @s.h.8153 21 день тому +1

      Yeh it's not about what the producer likes, it's about what the artist does with it and if the masses like the end result. So I get why he titled it like that, cause 70s samples seem to always work with pretty much every rapper

    3 main reasons:
    1. 70's music is relatively lo-fidelity and almost completely uncompressed, which leaves headroom to alter and make gains to the mixing;
    2. All 70's music was made by people who actually have some semblance of musicianship.
    You couldn't book session time (which was expensive) or get an album released by a major label if you couldn't play or sing.
    Contrast this today with people making diatonic melodies and chord progressions by clicking and dragging in piano roll without understanding music theory, how to actually play an instrument, how to use accents and fills when playing, etc.;
    3. There were a lot of totally different movements and genres all happening at the same time in the 70s, so there's a lot of material to choose from.

    • @hiperego
      @hiperego 21 день тому

      1. All music that got saved, because there are plenty of lost songs
      2. All popular music was made by people who know their work but the % of 🗑️ never changed
      3. Its cause there aren't many songs as today so you can choose easier. I don't remember how this phenomenon is called but it's about the fact that people don't like to have too much to choose from

    • @dffgffffffdddddddddd

    The 70s was fueled by psychedelics and acid! So a lot of that music is trippy and out ot this world, the sound captures the drugs of the era!

    I almost ways use what You listed in My music, Piano, guitar, Strings, Trumpet, and Simple basslines and never quontise anything. I wasn't trying to emulate 70s records, I just wanted it to sound more real and so chose to use more natural sounds because they sound good to Me.

    60’s sound very pop and gimmicky,
    80’s sound very synthetic and full of reverb
    70’s soul was pure magic, competition was fierce.

  • @mgd9151
    @mgd9151 18 днів тому

    Because the ppl that made 70's soul are the same ppl with the same struggles and make their music to resonate specifically with their ppl. This is not rocket science. It's the same as when westerners refer to Europeans as the "greatest philosophers" because they are the same ppl. The big question is, why does everyone care about our music, and not the struggle and the ppl who the music is about?
