And if you think metro isn't hardworking, bro just go and listen to his 2013-2018 era you'll understand why he's where he is... He knew that there isn't any point in making the same kind of beats over and over and its basically the reason why hip hop fell in the last few years... Hes the one trying to save it

  • @kuandemarco5498
    @kuandemarco5498 7 місяців тому +2

    The elements were already in the sample. Stacking drums make the beat already present behave like parallel compression. Metro rolled off the original 808 notes and transposed the sample down and did the sub bass with the horn melody. Back in the day they didn’t really play the 808 in several notes. From a creative standpoint it’s really not all that. However the vibe and the song all together makes it dope. Erik B and Rakim used the sample first. The west coast always replayed the samples back in the day. This was one of Rodney O and Joe Cooley biggest song. East coast had the lyrics back then but cats was on subways and at party’s. In the West the D Boys had crazy sound systems with the trunk rattling. The way saturation is added on the 808 today is owed to that trunk rattling sound. It’s dope how things go full circle.
