Chopin - Etude Op.25 No.9 (Butterfly Etude)| For Plucked Strings
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 жов 2024
- I thought this Chopin piano etude would be a nice showcase of my newly aquired Eastman mandolin. It turned out that it goes slightly out of its range, so this arrangement is transposed a whole step down, to E. Besides having to play in the near microscopic range of the mando, the difficulty in this arrangement is that the melody is constantly divided between the first and second mandolin.
There are two additional mandolins low in the mix, not pictured, playing a harmony and percussion part.

this piece is so delightful, yet so short. much like a butterfly's lifespan
Bruh I don’t think that was the message Chopin was trying to bring😳
@@derekpintozzi2498 maybe it wasn't. but that doesnt mean I cant make a parallel between this piece and a butterfly
@@carluy7351 yeah just a little dark
@@derekpintozzi2498 hahaha i see
Are you comparing to humans? Of course nothing else has a similar lifespan, but some butterflies can live for a long time compared to other insects (I just looked this up, I swear I'm not a bug nerd)
7 years later i discovered this, and found out that after all these years it still sounds amazingly beautiful just like a butterfly 🦋
So glad to hear that! Thanks for the kind words.
0:13 is my fav ever part
This would sound cool on a piano. Someone should make an arrangement for it or something.
The original was written for piano, anyway
@@gamingmusicandjokesandabit1240
whoosh
Literally the original song its for piano
@@tonoguel_08 omg really wow i thought it was for the drums
@@pianissimo_yt ?
how did you find 3 other people that look exactly like you???? what the hell??
I know a really great plastic surgeon.
how did you force them to get surgery
Blackmail.
In hindsight it probably would have been easier to just do it all myself and splice it together in editing.
u wot
Bravo!! This piece seems to foreshadow, by many decades, the ragtime music in America. Very well done, excellent arrangement, Prester Bob is pleased!!
@@RobertButterfield-n4m thanks a lot! And I agree!
This is great! The guitarist had to switch between like 50 different chords on every beat and the bassist is using shoe laces. Very cool.

Chopin would be proud
Actually Chopin loved Guitar, so I'm pretty sure he would have
I'm begging for this to be on spotify I would listen to this millions of times istg
Dang, I guess I'm really leaving money on the table! You've inspired me. I think I'll put together an EP of my mando arrangements or maybe arrange a couple more pieces and make it an LP. If ya want an audio file I can just give it to you to download, but Spotify will take a minute.
I’m surprised how this dude doesn’t have at least a thousand subscribers just by the quality of the editing and video
Dude this is incredible!!
Thanks man, it took a lot of work! Looking forward to new material from you. Anytime soon?
Mitch Sumner yea gonna put out another short EP very soon I hope! Actually tracked most of it in Studio A :)
Sweet!
What a fun arrangement 😊
this is so amazing! criminally underrated. don’t stop making music!
I appreciate that. If having very few people listening to my music hasn't stopped me yet, I don't think it ever will.
Its a crime for you to have only 200 subs. Good stuff from 4 good looking chaps
Kind of you to say!
I wanna wake up in the morning with this song lol
Bravo
Would be a good one for that! haha thanks
It’s not just classical guitar, but a family of guitars
This arrangement still manages to perfectly capture the butterfly spirit of the original etude! Very light and simple sounding, with all the elegance. 🦋
Suena increíble. Lo veo 7 años tarde pero es increíble. Buen trabajo chicos
Magnificent!
Incredible interpretation of my favorite music study !
Thanks! I hope ya stick around, I'm working on an arrangement of another one of his beautiful studies. Coming soon.
@@MitchSumner when’s it coming?
@@pianissimo_yt I spent a long time on the arrangement but as I was recording it, I found it wasn't meeting my standard of what I imagined. And the piece is too beautiful, I didn't want something that didn't live up to it. So I kind of tabled/scrapped it. My apologies. Perhaps I should revisit it and see what I can do.
@@MitchSumner which étude is it?

👌 wow^^beautiful performance with chopin etude 😮😲
Did not realize that it was one person until like a minute in lmao
Didn't know I needed this
This arrangement is so cool!! Would love to listen to more classical piano pieces for your little ensemble.
I appreciate that! I really gotta get back to doing these kinds of things. Thanks for the motivation.
This is gorgeous! I love Chopin it's awesome to hear it played this way!
Thanks so much!

I appreciate that friend!
Very cool!
Thanks!
Fantastic
Love it 😍
Amazing stuff, very original concept. That huge range is crazy. Chopin had 88 keys to work with and he didnt want to leave any out 😅
haha true!! Thanks
I had no idea this would be such an amazing arrangement for plucked strings, haha ^^
This sounds amazing - I've seen this a while back and I just had to comment :)
Well I appreciate the comment! I hope to get back to doing arrangements like this at some point as I do love them.
Bravo!
It's like an outro for a cartoon (Spongebob came into my mind)
amazing
Awesome arrangement!!
Thank you!
Wow!!!
Really beautiful! Whole.
Btw: imagine, that this beauty is played by 4 peoples.... But on a piano the whole incredibility must be played by one people😮
Yes, it's incredible what is possible with the right two hands and a piano. Separating out the parts like this gives a different appreciation for the composition as well.
Hey to naprawdę piękne!

nice job !!!
Thanks Carl! : )
Terrific! 🎸🎸🎸🎸
Beautiful! So Beautiful!!
Thanks so much!
WOW
Very nice
This is awesome! Can't wait to learn this on piano, in some years probably..
It's certainly one of the more approachable of his etudes, not just due to its length. They all of course demand great effort.
@@MitchSumner Yeah, I have only been playing for about 1.5 years though. I don't know when I'll be good enough to start learning this etude
A AJ lol me too why don't you check out his black keys etude and his sunshine etude there my fave
@@noobtroll8668 Also not bad
Dylonely yeah I know right! They just sound so cool I want to learn them because I have a keyboard but the thing i can learn it just I don't have the time to as I am busy
Amazing music. Sounds like brazilian's music style named "Choro".
Incredible!
I love it!!!!
Sweet! Finally a guitar arrangement (on UA-cam(for me(so far)))of this lovely piece!
Thanks! Yes, my first step was to check and see if it's been done before.
Nice

soooooooooooo good♥
Soooo epic man. Props to the twins!
This is fantastic!!!
So are you!
Wow....🙏💕
Wow how did u play 4 parts in the exact same tempo damn
Once I got the first part feeling good it was just a matter playing along with it enough to really anticipate the tempo fluctuations instinctively for the other parts.

Hey thanks Johnny!
What nice guitarists you are!
Thanks, on behalf of all of us.
Are people actually think these are different persons lmfao
@@MitchSumner It's a really impressive camera trick. I don't see any signs of editing. Did you use green screen? Or are you really quadruplets?
@@petroglyph888mcgregor2 No green screen. I didn't know much about editing at the time so it was pretty simply just carefully cropping/masking out 3 videos and layering over the fourth.
@@MitchSumner Impressive that you got such good results. I get the impression from this comment section that some people didn't even notice

Sorry piano!
너무 좋아요ㅠㅠㅠㅠ
I like it😍😍
Do you want to play other classical songs?(like chopin etude)
Thanks! Yes, definitely. I did a Bartok piece but it was not well received. 20th century classical is not for everyone I suppose. I'd like to do something from every classical era. Chopin is my favorite though.
ㄹㅈㄷ 좋다
Good
Quadruplets?
Cute.
I just realized they're the same person
what is the instrument on the far left? I get that it's some sort of bass, but what kind?
That is the fretless M-Bass (or MicroBass), made by Gold Tone. It's similar to what are called ukulele basses, but I find this one more usable/playable, and I think it's a bit bigger.
For plucked strings
As opposed to bowed strings (or percussive strings).
