These Ask Amy videos feel so intimate. It's like having a private conversation with Amy in which she is opening to me and talking right from her heart. It makes me fall in love with her even more. And I'm 23 year old boy from Slovakia - that's like 7 years above limit for someone to have a celebrity crush. But you know, when I see a woman this smart, funny, caring, pretty and sweet, I just can't help myself.

Amy! Hi! I just wanted to tell you how grateful I am for this UA-cam channel and how wonderful it is to see girls loving each other rather than competing. You do an awesome job advocating and are a real inspiration. Happy Galentine's Day!

Amy, you beautiful tropical fish, I wish these videos were around when I was still in middle/high school. Yet even as a college student, I can still listen to and apply your advice into my everyday life situations. Thank you for being you! You're such a wonderful role model :-)

Hi Amy! I'm a senior Boston College (your alma mater, of course) and it was recently brought to my attention that for the past several years, the women who graduate from BC have reported to have lower self esteem than when they began college. Do you have any thoughts on this issue, why that might be, and/or what we can do about it as undergraduates and beyond? Thank you so much! Sincerely, Eliza
P.S. I am a huge fan of everything you do -- thanks for celebrating smart girls and women!

I have been shy for the entirety of my life. It's a trait than many have, but I find it very hard to get past. I want to try to talk to people more and have conversations as easily as they do but I find it hard to spark that conversation and keep it consistent. I've been taking many leadership roles recently to try and push myself towards being better at socializing. I'm not really sure if its hard for me because I'm holding myself back or if inside I'm afraid of something. What can I do?

Dear Amy, I recently applied for a job at a summer camp. Many of my friends applied as well, and I was pretty confident that I would get a position. Most of my friends were hired and I didn't get the job. I don't really know what to do with myself now, and I was wondering if you had any advice for moving on? Thank you for your videos and you incredible advice!
    Sincerely,
    Elsie

    Hi Amy!
I think you're the coolest. I'm studying music in university... I am a vocal performance major and I work very hard on my voice. But when it comes to auditioning for shows, there are always politics involved and I feel that sometimes I don't get a part I deserve because of it. What do you have to say about politics? Do you think that working hard towards being the best can overcome them? What do you have to say from your experience in showbiz? :)

Hi Amy, I'm 19 and i'm a freshman in college. Sometimes I get really overwhelmed when I think about all the stuff I have left to learn, both emotionally and practically. I just feel like I'll never be ready to enter the real world and I have trouble accepting that I still have a lot to learn. Any advice?
    Thanks!!

    Hi Amy,
I'm 22 years old and I'm about to graduate college in a couple of months, I feel really insecure about my face. I used to have mild acne but now it has left me with minor scars and even when I put on makeup I still feel insecure about myself. Even though these scars are minor, I don't feel beautiful, everyone around me is so pretty and I'm just ugly. I feel like I'm never going to be good enough and no one will ever love me. How do I feel better and be positive?
    Love, Dawn

I've got a question, it's kind of related to saying I'm sorry. I struggle with that too but what is much harder for me is to let go and stop punishimng myself for the mistake I make. I still can't get over some mistakes I made years ago. How do you deal with that Amy? Thanks, Olga.

Dear Amy, while all my friends are away for college, I stayed home and I'm going to a local school. I'm often faced with the fear that I can't message them or even call them because they'll be too busy or get annoyed by me trying to stay in touch. How do I get over this feeling that people who I know deep down like me and love me don't really care for me anymore?

I've got a question! Amy, It's become almost impossible for me to try my one hundred percent hardest. I can't tell if it's because the things I'm trying are not for me, or if I'm just so afraid of failing that I don't put in my full effort in order to soften the blow. Do you have any advice on how to overcome this fear?

Can I ask a question? I'm 16, and I spend most of my time on the internet. I usually learn a lot of stuff that I'll never use in what I'm planning on doing (I like learning cool stuff about physics specially), and I can memorise this things in seconds, but I just can't get myself to study when I'm at home because I prefer to learn other things. I just don't know how to make the physics or math that I'm taught at school more like the things I'm taught on the internet. Can you help me?

I need to make money because I'm going to college next year and I need some money. If you have any suggestions on how to help me stand out and get a job, or even how to make money, that would be amazing. Any advice would be great, please! I respect you so much and I would really love hearing from you! Thank you!

    hey amy,
I go to a really competetive high school and am a junior this year. I want to be able to make my parents happy, but even when I study very hard and do everything I can think of, I still end up with pretty subpar grades. Its really frustrating and I feel like a failure for being unable to live up to their expectations, especially because my parents worked their way up to the top with nothing, and I have unlimmited resources and still can't do well. How can I oversome this guilt/sadness?

    Dear Amy,
I was wondering if you could give some advice on public speaking. I’ve always been on the quieter-side and when I have to speak in front of my classes I get really nervous and stumble over my words. I feel like I have an internal breakdown whenever I have to talk in front of more than a couple of people.
    Thanks so much,

Dear Amy: I'm really bad at comforting people. I just don't know what to say to them to make them feel better so I just end up making inappropriate jokes.
Also whenever somebody tells me bad news, my natural reaction is to laugh... I just get nervous and start smiling and eventually I either laugh or I cry like a baby which only makes things worst. Any advice? Thanks : )

And it's getting me down because there's a lot of them in my class haha. I know I'm the one with the problem, and I shouldn't find them stupid... Have you ever work with stupid people? How do you go through that?
