I hate that people are calling this a Clone. It isn't a clone. It has a ton of functionality that an og Linn did not have. It is only visually inspired by a Linn Drum and has samples of LInn inside bit it is a fully modern drum machine with powers far exceeding the original Linn. Give shitty Behringer some cred on this one, they actually made something kinda new that just LOOKS like a ripoff.
It definitely has more functions than the original, yes, and I even prefer it over the original. However, it is still extremely similar in design, sound, and circuitry, as Roger Linn himself mentioned. The entire marketing focuses on the original sound. So, while it is much more powerful, I wouldn’t call it modern.
@@brawndothethirstmutilator9848 well yes you can do it in the DAW. And you‘d be more flexible. But the LM Drum is kinda fun to use and makes me want to use it. It takes a lot of desk space though.

[In response to a comment below]… I’ll see your comment and raise you one “not calling Behringer names” and either just buy their stuff or shut MY dumb fool ass up about how they’re virtually no different than any other company where the bottom line is their chief concern. Have you had any issues with quality loss on your samples? I'm trying to upload a pitched up LM1 high hat to the unit but the quality of the sample is significantly lower than the base presets (and of the original sample file). Uploading it as 24 bit, not sure how to work around this.
@@Znop i did not experience noticable quality losses, but sometimes some weitd clicks are being introduced when sampling. gry to use another sample or maybe pre-convert it before…
it doesnt sound like a linn drum ... dunno why , it sounds like samples , is it made with eproms .. ??? it dont sound like a linn drum , is it just plain old samples its using ?
Well this one sounds like an 808 because 808 the samples are loaded in it in this video. In my other videos you can listen to the factory banks, that include LM1, LM2 and LM 9000. FYI, the original Linndrum is also playing prerecorded samples. It‘s not a Drum Synth.
@@bengsynthmusic The build quality is good for the money. Knobs are solid and not wobbly, pads are good, but ofcourse no comparison to MPC or Maschine. The sides are plastic, so is the enclosure. But it doesn‘t feel cheap. All in all i like it a lot.
@MidnightatMidian, I can see that similarity. This is a bit more chilled and spacey with a nod to old school Acid whereas The Crystal Method usually was more aggressive with faster Breaks.
@@mdleone2000 thank you. Yes you have to use the synthtribe software and the import does crash every now and then. But you can assign the imported samples to the pads in the software, this saves time.
@@TheSynthnut I’m not doing any advertising, just sharing my experience as some people asked me to. :) What do you mean by ‘have they been played’? How else could I make a track? 😄

The ability to only tune some of the instruments, though... That is an unnecessary, direct copy of a flaw in the old LinnDrum.
