- Recently, I took a trip up to an unnamed reservoir after some stunning wild lake trout. I thought the best method would be something simple. Spinning is a really affective way of catching lake trout and this proved to be the case, with some beautiful lake trout being caught on the day!
Plenty of action and plenty of complaining about the weather. Trout fishing in the rain, what could be more British!!

Hi mate goin trout fishing on keilder reservoir shortly im new to trout fishing what size lines and hooks would i need please also whats a good lure thanks mate
Oooo have fun some cool trout in there! 10ib braid will do the job, and single hook spinners will also do the job along with spoons etc! Don’t need any massive hooks, but some what bigger than a treble! Would recommend if you’re nee to it going into angling direct and getting some
Vibrax size 3 spinners or alternatively head to rigged and ready and pick a box up online! All barbless all weedless and an amazing trout spinner/spoon selection!!

What spinners / lures do you recommend for brown trout
Any shiny spinner bait is a must for the box! Small cranks (as small as possible) and some minnow like baits! 97 tungsten Little S is phenomenal and so is the Salmo Minnow :D

You are bang on kid u can have all the gear ect and catch fuck all I have shown my kids £20 rod £15 reel I have caught trout pike perch you name it on a 7ft light rod fishing can be cheap its just how posh you want to be with it 😉

Any fool can catch on a spinner......fly-fishing is far superior
Agree with the first bit…second bit is just simply not true and horrendously arrogant. It’s everything I hate about fishing, we’re all anglers whether you’re sat with a float targeting roach or smashing a streamer across a wild remote river in the middle of Slovenia after Taimen. @@japanesefishingadventures bla bla. You know nothing. A 10 year old can cast a spinner and reel it in to catch a trout. There is zero skill.......however go to the same lake and fish a nymph or dryfly you've tied yourself and it's 10 times more skillful. And I will watch and comment what I like......this is a public domain you tit!
