People saying The Resistance sucked? What are you on about! That album has some great songs on it! Maybe take a listen and try to appreciate the masterpieces that Muse have created. They are an amazing band. So much talent.
Apparently just like me, I am attentive fans of muse ... congratulations you have good taste in music. Just to remember, I left a link in a comment your, be sure to watch our video, Sincerely hope you like ...
i always come back to this song and this performance. it's spectacular. the breadth, emotion, and strength of matt's voice is on full display and never ceases to make me emotional.
Muse certainly does get better every year!!! I love 2nd Law but for all different reasons than I love Showbiz. March of 2013 I saw Muse live in Detroit. Absolutely crazy and incredibly amazing. Matt's voice was to die for. hesounded great. All 3 were amazing. And they played Sunburn too!!! The place was blown away.
I personally really like this song. Always feel fuzzy from it. Maybe musically it's not as "inventive" as their other songs, but I think it's the best song in the Resistance album that showcases Matt's vocal technique. :)
@placemuz92 that harmonic wasn't planned in the song when they recorded it so not really much reason for him to play it live if he doesn't want to. And its not a harmonic anyway, the sound was created by his Fernandez Sustainer, whilst doing the final recording of the solo. NEVER QUESTION MATTS PLAYING ABILITY'S DAMMIT, HE CAN NAIL IT EVERY TIME IF HE WANTED TO !
@FuzzyChurro Kinda. I think it's because of Matt playing Guiding Light, which also reminded him about his father who died because of a heart attack last time they headlined Glastonbury (just one hour after the concert).
@magisterps3 I am not implying everyone should play out of tune every time they're live..i'm just saying its normal to hear some out of tunes during live concerts..just to show they DONT depend on autotuning like some other artists..no fake stuffs...and YES,that is the whole point of being live..
@placemuz92 because when they recorded it in the studio (as you can see in the video that came with the album) matt hit the harmonic accidentally and created a pinch harmonic. it was never meant to be there, and you know that because when you watch it they start laughing when he hits it and matt looks really surprised
@placemuz92 yeah that's true you can hear it when he pulls off the notes, its quite distinct. i guess matt just finds it more of an inconvenience than a necessity and in that case doesnt bother. you're probably right. but we still love Bellamy, right?
I still adore this song. Resistance isn't their best album but IT'S STILL GOOD! Guiding Light and Unnatural Selection are 2 I can't live without. I like more obviously but those two are pure gold in my eyes.....or ears
@xsupernazix but in the recording, the (harmonic) didnt sound off straight away, it happened towards the end of the note. Harmonics are instant.... this sound wasn't. Therefore... Sustainer created the sound
@placemuz92 thats because there was not suppose to be a harmonic there in the first place. when they were recording the solo Matt accidentally played one and they kept in on for shits and giggles. Seach up making of guiding light one youtube you will see his reaction.
@dhucksy Some people like their music, not the fact they are good at 'rocking'. He's a very clever and diverse songwriter to be able to come up with a simple C, Am, F, G verse/chorus structure with positive, generic lyrics- a song that contrasts every single song he's ever wrote. It's original for Muse. This is nowhere near one of their best, but I like it. He's so musical.
I love all muse albums, but I fell in love with the resistance songs on first listens. The 2nd law was brilliant but I agree should've had a more rock touch, but I'm ok with matt Dom and chris experimenting as long as they lose the classic muse sound. Even if resistance isn't your favourite, it certainly better than the utter shit that's being churned out from the likes of nicki minaj and Justin bieber these days.
Underrated song....
Love that guitar solo. Masterpiece!
best solo

I love how Chris's Bass punches right through the synths at about 1:17 ish
I personally really like this song. Always feel fuzzy from it. Maybe musically it's not as "inventive" as their other songs, but I think it's the best song in the Resistance album that showcases Matt's vocal technique. :)
muse is like a fine wine: it gets better every year!

Guitar solo part is a lost treasure in music.
IN MY HANDS THEY CRUUUUUUUMBLE
ohhh myy goshhhh! :)

yes
Dominic is a beautiful man :'3
OK... If I had to name my top 5 Muse songs... they would be...
.....It's impossible :)
@FuzzyChurro Kinda. I think it's because of Matt playing Guiding Light, which also reminded him about his father who died because of a heart attack last time they headlined Glastonbury (just one hour after the concert).
Live this is IMO one of the best songs but the studio version is cheeserific
@magisterps3 I am not implying everyone should play out of tune every time they're live..i'm just saying its normal to hear some out of tunes during live concerts..just to show they DONT depend on autotuning like some other artists..no fake stuffs...and YES,that is the whole point of being live..

Look... I like every song from it, but the ones I listed were the highlights that came to my mind at the time.
Like !!!
@placemuz92 yeah that's true you can hear it when he pulls off the notes, its quite distinct. i guess matt just finds it more of an inconvenience than a necessity and in that case doesnt bother. you're probably right. but we still love Bellamy, right?

@placemuz92 we dont really know if he ever meant to do it in the actual recording in the first place.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that!
Mylène y était!!!😍😵❤️
2:30 !!!
Glastonbury rocks!
GOD!
I wish I could´ve been there... XD
Give it time. Americans are sometimes slow to embrace greatness.
@placemuz92 if you look at the making of the video i think he did the pinched harmonic as a joke (i dont know why, b/c it sounds awesome)
@Hyperguy2000 I was replying to FuzzyChurro, the "him" refers to Dom. (:
@bawpalo It's a picking technique to force a harmonic out of any note.
rip chris father!
@dhucksy Some people like their music, not the fact they are good at 'rocking'. @placemuz92 but in the middle he reaches the high and it doesnt in the album version.
@kenzoi haha omg!!! as if!!! this is one of my favourite muse songs ever!!
@placemuz92 if u watch the making of guiding light i think he was surprised he did that harmonic, or he jsut did it to be funny.
Sometimes I wish I was Matt.
Georgeharrison I'm in America. And I adore muse . They are my god ;) lol and I agree they need more respect !!!!
reminds me of Nature song from hulabaloo
@dramaticpickles That was in fact 2004
@RaigaThunderFang It was actually Dom's dad who died.
I love all muse albums, but I fell in love with the resistance songs on first listens. The 2nd law was brilliant but I agree should've had a more rock touch, but I'm ok with matt Dom and chris experimenting as long as they lose the classic muse sound. 10 years later and this is still true
como me gusta matt
dramaticpickles was talking about the 2nd law.. what album do you think knights of cydonia comes from?
@FuzzyChurro he is.
The 2nd Law is not a bad album. Panic Station, Supremacy, Big Freeze, Animals and Explorers are some of their best songs I think.
