Also loved how Maatie let go of Marcus' fingers rather than cause an injury. Pure class.
@@imeking.vip1 Indeed
Maati is a class act, honorable
It happens like that sometimes, no need to break someone's finger eh haha
AWE just keeps on impressing! The underground series is awesome, I can't believe it's all free to watch.
Thanks mate, several more matches to come
Damn this is such an awesome match for free! Really great production as well, great job guys 🙌This is kind of like the New Zealand/Islander version of Georgi Tsvetkov vs Zaur
Thanks mate, yeah we were looking forward to this one for months :)
This just shows the level of Lars Rorbakkens power. Absolutely terrifying…
He is an incredible armwrestler
I was extremely impressed with Lars. He showed major league technique. I think we’re gonna see good things from him. He seems to have a fire lit under him.
We loved this match, so hard to cheer because I wanted both guys to win haha. Both awesome people and absolute beasts on the table.
There was a lot of power on that table… two gentlemen
Very interesting match, I've been wanting to see this matchup for a while now.
The speed that you guys are getting these out is awesome!
8 matches in 8 days is the plan
Wow... I thought it would be closer. I don't recall ever seeing them pull before but I still think this was an interesting match. Maateiwarangi definitely lives up to his nickname!
I would say it was his experience that won him the day.
Great match. So happy to see these 2 man mountains finally pull. Maatei's experience shone through here. Looking forward to Marcus' rise over the next few years, I will definitely be keeping a close eye on his journey.
Also a well done to Ryan and the AWE Team!
Ryan kana antak Lachlan 😂
@@plamendimitrov-wv3ne ya bro, lain bah level si Lachlan
Thanks Mike :)
@HollywoodMattConnelly no worries man. Really wish you guys the best success and would be an honor to pull there one day
@@mikeford_armwrestling Ah awesome mate, yeah hopefully we can get you the opportunity for a match :D
Love this format. Big Maatei 💪💪
Genuinely prefer this setup to the main AWE events. I would save the money on the octagon and unnecessary staging and just pack this place out, much cooler vibe IMO.
Same
Thanks mate, we were very happy with the outcome from this weekend.
Love this content brother
A big learning experience for Marcus I'm sure.
Man I would love a match against either of these beasts. Really enjoying these AWE underground matches though gives more of a raw feeling to armwrestling
perfect production quality
🙏
Morris is just to seasoned of a puller for Marcus right now!!! He has years of experience compared to Marcus at the moment.. but the match up is awesome AF!!! Both guys are friggin huge and fun to watch for sure 💪
Id love to see Marcus focus on some fundamentals, grab a couple more tools for press or side instead of Kings.. great match. Love the editting. Would love a score board on screen between rounds/start of rounds
It works for MMT. it can work for him....gotta get comfortable under the table
Loving it. Regardless of what opinions you have about promoters and their respective organizations, you should fully stand behind all of these guys because this is all for the betterment of the sport. Great show, AWE.
Thanks mate, we are very happy with how this weekend turned out. Next stop India in November :)
So many levels to this
Be cool to watch in person.. good fight brothers

Lachlan is a very good refree🔥
I didn't even notice. Lol
lets go the beasttt
Maateiwarangi is a beast
This snakish hissing is dope!
Maateiwarangi is just on an other level and very underrated. down under people and skandinavians get no love.
2 uso brothers going at it
🔥🔥🔥
Well done Marcus needs to work on coming in Maatie it to strong outside 💪
9:52 dat dap doh
Maatie with the domination here. Good stuff. Letting the fingers go was class too
Ryan, for next fight bring the French Polynesian Champion from Tahiti, name Teua Tauraatea strong athlete ! vs Marcus. I was in Tahiti for seminar they have some strong pullers, also in Junior, one he have only 20 years old strong and gifted. I can put you in contact PM
Awesome stuff. Thank you for the inside scoop. Great to hear the level over there is solid.
💪💪💪❤️
Would have loved if they interviewed in their mother tongue and channel translated instead of speaking English. Intro could have no been so lit
He's a cool guy got a match with him in Ireland arm gods ahoo ahoo
Em some biggins lol. Awesome match and that finger gonna be sore 😳
Kaha toa maateiwarangi 💪🏾Māori power from both warriors
Ryen Vs Marcus next?
Big dudes😮 Atirai is huge, but his arms look kinda small
Good show but just a tip, music is a bit much during the pull
The music is in the room. Gets the fellas in the mood for a fight.
UA-cam algorithm boosting comment 💪
... almost a complete level above really, but it's good to get that settled. Marcus still has a long strong road ahead of him!
The Drew!
Marcus has a lot of potential. He just needs to keep training to get more experience.
Agreed, matches like this are perfect for him to continue learning.
This is great... pro armwrestling has reached a point where they need multiple months to "prepare" this isnt mma, you dont need to prepare for months on end for matches. It should be announced at most a month in advance strictky for promotional reasons. And athletes should be ready to go within 4 weeks any more is ridiculous
I think because you get athletes from all over the globe that not only compete and train arm wrestling, but also have full-time jobs and families. Someone like 3 months is more doable. It's alright if you're in the same countries though. I get what you're saying but MMA fighters do that for a living so they do have time to prepare and plan for matches.
Funny thing with this event was we had 3 bonus matches that just happened because everyone was loving the vibe in the room. Challenges were thrown down right there and then and we saw the match instantly.
@@HollywoodMattConnelly thats how stuff should be... instead we have most the top guys (mostly Europeans) needing 3,4,5,6 months to prepare, mma fighters at least need time to prepare for different styles of opponents and the risk for long term injury is significantly higher, they arent just using the time to juice the fuck out of themselves like in armwrestling. I think it is better for the sport to encourage shorter turnarounds and will be healthier for the athletes, if they arent going on massive cycles between events. Its currently who can jam the most gear and get as big as possible before the match, something the Europeans have been doing for decades in sport.
@@Rondigity92 Indeed, however I think as soon as you add money into the mix then people tend to be more careful about how they approach matches. If you have the potential to win let's say $5k if you win, then you would probably want to prepare as best you can. The advantage to what we're doing is providing a platform for anyone wanting a match regardless.
@@HollywoodMattConnelly yeah thats why i think matches should be announced a max 1 month out as it doesnt give too much time to sauce for a drastic change, and still gives time for promotiom... they will adjust to it if it becomes the norm, when you have the Europeans needing months on end to juice. Its going to turn a lot of people away from competing in the sport knowing that they NEED to hit the gear hard for months on end to be able to compete at a world level. Its very unhealthy for the growth of the sport and for younger pullers who want to be the best, especially in western countries like here in Australia. A kid here is competing against kids in the east who have been jamming gear since their mid teens.
Holy smokes... This guy makes Maate looks medium.... Whats his height? How much he weights?
6'4 and 171kg
I swear one of these dudes starred in Moana 😂
If anyone thought this would be close you don't know armwrestling
Theres some big NZ lads that would make good match ups with marcus still a gap between these to
Who you reckon be good for Marcus bro
@@maateiwarangithebeastheta-1166 the big boss hey bro was thinking Charles or Ian, jr,Miley ,I've never felt Marcus's level so not hundy on who's close to him but I know who isn't haha nice win
@@least17charactersI reckon, Charles and Marcus be good bro
@@maateiwarangithebeastheta-1166 you know what they both feel like I'd definitely like to see that match . Ian or jr down south would match Marcus in size nearly don't know how they'd compare arm wrestling. AWE be a good platform for abit of trans Tasman rivalry
if he turned his hat backwards he would’ve won
How is this a match when Bowen can comfortably handle Marcus in practice?
Styles make matches. Plus we really wanted to see two 170kg giants go at it.
I’d hate to feed into some Bowen delusion but fuck Marcus might be bigger than Levan aye
He most certainly is
I didn't realise Marcus was so big wtf. His potential is off the charts if he keeps at it.
@@the9th96nah his potential is pretty capped. He's super big that's for sure
@@muhammadputera6593we don't know how hard he is training though
how big is Marcus he looks like a giant
171kg
good god! and i assume well over 6 foot@@AWEunderground
I bet if Maatie lost some weight he'd feel so much better
I think he has lost some recently. I believe he was over 200kgs at one point.
and i thought maateiwarangi was big wtf
mismatch
I'm surprised Marcus didn't try to lat drag him back and maybe try to king's move him. Meeting Maatei in the middle seems like a really bad idea.
