    Also loved how Maatie let go of Marcus' fingers rather than cause an injury. Pure class.

  • @Rondigity92
    @Rondigity92 7 місяців тому +3

    This is great... pro armwrestling has reached a point where they need multiple months to "prepare" this isnt mma, you dont need to prepare for months on end for matches. It should be announced at most a month in advance strictky for promotional reasons. And athletes should be ready to go within 4 weeks any more is ridiculous

    • @brandonchan5100
      @brandonchan5100 7 місяців тому +1

      I think because you get athletes from all over the globe that not only compete and train arm wrestling, but also have full-time jobs and families. Someone like 3 months is more doable. It's alright if you're in the same countries though. I get what you're saying but MMA fighters do that for a living so they do have time to prepare and plan for matches.

    • @HollywoodMattConnelly
      @HollywoodMattConnelly 7 місяців тому +1

      Funny thing with this event was we had 3 bonus matches that just happened because everyone was loving the vibe in the room. Challenges were thrown down right there and then and we saw the match instantly.

    • @Rondigity92
      @Rondigity92 7 місяців тому

      @@HollywoodMattConnelly thats how stuff should be... instead we have most the top guys (mostly Europeans) needing 3,4,5,6 months to prepare, mma fighters at least need time to prepare for different styles of opponents and the risk for long term injury is significantly higher, they arent just using the time to juice the fuck out of themselves like in armwrestling. I think it is better for the sport to encourage shorter turnarounds and will be healthier for the athletes, if they arent going on massive cycles between events. Its currently who can jam the most gear and get as big as possible before the match, something the Europeans have been doing for decades in sport.

    • @HollywoodMattConnelly
      @HollywoodMattConnelly 7 місяців тому

      @@Rondigity92 Indeed, however I think as soon as you add money into the mix then people tend to be more careful about how they approach matches. If you have the potential to win let's say $5k if you win, then you would probably want to prepare as best you can. The advantage to what we're doing is providing a platform for anyone wanting a match regardless.

    • @Rondigity92
      @Rondigity92 7 місяців тому

      @@HollywoodMattConnelly yeah thats why i think matches should be announced a max 1 month out as it doesnt give too much time to sauce for a drastic change, and still gives time for promotiom... they will adjust to it if it becomes the norm, when you have the Europeans needing months on end to juice. Its going to turn a lot of people away from competing in the sport knowing that they NEED to hit the gear hard for months on end to be able to compete at a world level. Its very unhealthy for the growth of the sport and for younger pullers who want to be the best, especially in western countries like here in Australia. A kid here is competing against kids in the east who have been jamming gear since their mid teens.
