Going from hardtail to full suspension was the best choice I made (Trek Fuel EX 8). I was having trouble with my 26" hardtail on the trails, I was going so hard/fast that going over major rooty sections my feet were bouncing off the pedals. I made the jump to 29" and change to 1x12 (from 3x9) drive-train and haven't looked back. Your riding will improve even more! :)
Yeah I have had the exact same experience with my feet coming off the pedals over rooty or rocky parts of trails (main reason why my shins are always bleeding haha). I was looking at the Fuels think they are sick love them. I think learning on a hardtail is good though. Its going to feel like riding on a pillow compared to the Roscoe. Thanks man 🙂.
@@MTBM-MattHowse You are going to love going to full suspension then. Learning on a hard-tail is great and the entry cost is a lot less, can focus on a good front fork instead of low quality front and rear suspension. But, at some point, you will realize when you are over-driving a hard-tail - your shins will thank you lol ;) Can't wait to see the new bike!
I've heard horror stories about people going to full sus after a hardtail and not setting up the rear shock properly and having the bike buck you off haha. So ill definitely be trying to dial the suspension in properly before hitting anything crazy (for me).
@@MTBM-MattHowse The store I went to set up my bike for my weight and it's been amazing - the best thing I found for not getting bucked off is a dropper post... I didn't know how badly I needed one until I got this bike! Game changing. Not only for it's intended use, but if you get stiff in one position you can change it up for a bit.
That means a lot dude thanks really appreciate it. Yeah im wanting to go to more downhill venues. When I went to Aston hill on the hardtail it was way to much on my body haha. I feel a full sus would definitely be more forgiving.
I find the lip on the tabletop at the end of that section where your front end let go is really weird, it always tries to buck me over the bars. We usually do the Red and then hit that last section of blue on the way out. That last right hand berm has been improved as it used to drive you straight into the tree it ends on if you rode the berm too high. Nice riding dude you’re quick through those tecky parts of the red :)
Yeah i find it trys to buck you off to! Think it needs a little bit of work on the tabletop. Glad im not the only one who gets bucked haha! Yeah I dont mind tecky stuff I just need to practice jumps. Had a few bad crashes when I first started riding and it still haunts me. Thanks dude apreaciate it 🙂🤙🏼
MTBM Don’t let it put you off too much, It’s a learning curve, I’m not that good at jumping on a MTB I came to it from trials and BMX which I’m far more comfortable with. You’re doing great considering you’ve not been riding long. All I can say is keep at it!
Thanks man I really appreciate it! Yeah its trial and error. Body position is key with jumps. Oh really? Its crazy how many people come from BMX to MTB a lot of the slopestyle guys were BMX riders previously.
wow. i just order this bike and will pick it up tomorrow, even though not full suspension bike, anything uncomfortable or not satisfy? rosco 8 can jump just like 7min of your video?
Awesome man! You will love the Roscoe 8! it is so capable and planted on the trails! the 2.8" Maxxis tyres are so forgiving! the bike is absolutely fine for jumping and running off large drops. i definitely put the bike through its paces and i had no issues. solid bike! the Roscoe will be featuring again on the channel soon so maybe consider subbing if you would like some Roscoe content!. Enjoy your new bike dude!!
Looking forward to the new bike reveal. Keep at it! 🤟🏽
Mate the paint is epic. Im sure you will love it!.
I don't know how you don't come off more. I nealry skidded off my sofa just watching! 😂
Haha 😄. Finally got some decent tyres on! Certainly makes a huge difference

Yeah I've always used a dropper post best thing you can buy. I dont think I could ride without one haha
Your improving very fast. When you get the full sus you’ll become goated
