Still listen to this 30 years later.I think it's one of their best right after their side project Arcadia which still rocks my ears and still sounds fresh.Love these guys.
Yes, was an album ( then and now) with a particular and remarkable sound engineering, the projection in the lyrics on the songs, show us the growth in the brillant composition of the band.. really a Notorious album.
LOVE THIS!! Finally, a docu-style, extended recording of the guys talking about a moment in DD history from the perspective of all the guys!! Please do MORE like this for all your albums. Thank you Nile - such a star! Nile's like the nominal godfather of the band!
Duran Duran had always been one step ahead . This album might have been somewhat under estimated back in the day, but now we realize how great it is . Most of our generation was still stuck with the new wave sound back then .
I thoroughly enjoyed that from Nile and the Duran boys. Really insightful and intriguing. American Science for me was the stand out track on the album, at the time. Funny enough, now I've lost a little bit of love for that song. Maybe, it's an age thing, I don't know. Winter marches on, was and still is one of the most beautiful ballads that Duran have ever done, in my opinion. And these boys do ballads extremely well indeed. So, on reflection. Notorious is up there, in my top three all time favourite Duran albums. It sits pride of place along with Rio and All you need is now !!!
Of course they've made a lot of great albums since but Notorious remains my favourite Duran LP. The title track remains in their setlist and rightly so but this is an album full of brilliant deep cuts. Skin Trade, American Science, Vertigo, Matter of Feeling and Winter Marches on..It's just a great sounding record.
American Science , do the demolition and Proposition are three great album tracks. In overall quality I would rate this as their 2nd greatest album after Rio.
April Gosa I think he had to play due to contractual reasons but I might be wrong about that. Fairly sure he plays one of the guitar parts in American Science
This album should’ve been much bigger than it was. The single selection after the title track wasn’t the greatest. Vertigo should’ve been the second single released (just a terrific track) and Hold Me or even American Science following that. The world just wasn’t ready for Skin Trade. It was a great album track, but for some reason they thought different. Don’t even get me started on Meet El Presidente, it was probably the weakest song on Notorious. The only thing that was worse than it was the god awful remix they released for the single.
"As Winter Marches On", is the hidden gem for me on Notorious.
Still listen to this 30 years later.I think it's one of their best right after their side project Arcadia which still rocks my ears and still sounds fresh.Love these guys.
One of my favorite Duran Duran albums! Winter Marches On is such a beautiful song!
“Notorious” is by far Duran Duran’s best album! “American Science” FTW!!
Can't believe this hasn't got more views this is wonderful!
The álbum Notorious was a masterpiece from then and now. 30 years later. I Still remember when I buy it in a store récord, under the rain.
Agree 100%. I recall receiving it for Christmas. Almost ruined the tape by playing it so much.
u are right. Great music but pretty under rated at the time.
I got two albums, and the CD.. from 1987 was good luck.
Mariano Banegas I always that it's their most mature record.

One of my favorite albums ever! Love the "funk-infused" music on this.
This is a great retrospective. Thanks to the band and Nile for doing this.

Sad but true - Took a while for my personal musical evolution to catch up with them - Love it so much now of course - a masterpiece!
Nile Rodgers is the bomb! Love this album!!!
I love the backstories. Please do more of these!
This is my favourite album of all time.
So cool, elegant, funky, great great job, thanks DD for this 30 years with No no notorious
Their best album - I love the single "Hold Me"! Steve Ferrone is a great GROOVE drummer
I thoroughly enjoyed that from Nile and the Duran boys.
Really insightful and intriguing.

Duran Duran`s "Notorious"-Album (AND "Big Thing") is the Definition of COOL.
30 years on and still brilliant
Cimbarius Indeed bruh!!
I agree, much as I love the early stuff, Notorious and perhaps even more so, Big Thing are fantastic albums.
BIG THING is Soo underrated ‼️🎤↙️
Amazing song and the coolest music video of the year
So I went to WH Smith in Taunton Somerset England and bought this what 30 years ago! Blimey if you like Duran Duran this is a masterclass must!

Meet El Presidente~~~~~~~
THE GREATEST! EVER!
Steve Ferrone and Warren should have been interviewed
I love Steve Ferrones drums on this, and I love the way Roger Taylor plays Notorious and on the odd occasion Skin Trade from the album.
Nile is musical genius
#BIG FACTS
Such a great record. My 3rd favorite. When an album’s weakest track is it’s 3rd single (“Meet El Presidente”) that says a lot about ho balanced it is.
thank you so much for the upload
“American Science” FTW!!!
This is great!
the best 😙😙😙😙
Even my mom liked this one.
Nick's looking stellar in this pic
a great ear.
LOL Simon...JT definitely has some funk in that "gawky" body of his.
He has a LOT of funk in his body.
Yeah I loved that line... I had to rewind it to make sure I heard it correctly
Yep. John is funky!!!
John is amazing!
thought this was a cracking album and bought it when it came out. Nick's hair in that picture was exactly like mine, now it's all gone lol.
American Science , do the demolition and Proposition are three great album tracks. In overall quality I would rate this as their 2nd greatest album after Rio.
I would add A MATTER OF FEELING to your list !
My 4 favorite songs ❤
Yea

Back when DD still had balls.
Easily the best album then and now...
Andy Taylor plays guitar ,,,but i dont know ...what songs...And Warren?
i think Andy plays on American Science
Andy and Roger left before the Notorious Album
April Gosa they did yes but Andy does play guitar on some of the tracks
Jonny W ok just thought he left
April Gosa I think he had to play due to contractual reasons but I might be wrong about that. Fairly sure he plays one of the guitar parts in American Science
hot-hot hot-orious

They might have done better albums than this, but NOTORIOUS is my #1!

Andy was manipulative. I'm glad he's gone! If he didn't want to be there he should have just gone!
