Meh. Danmaku games are definitely NOT for everyone. Though it's true that Touhou games generally aren't known for their plots, they're much more known for how character-driven they are (and, of course, the top-tier music). There are official fighting games and doujin (fan-made) games made in every genre you can think of you can try out if shoot-em-ups aren't your thing.
