I've got a good one. Bought a car that had been seized by the police. No keys but was unlocked. In glovebox was paperwork with owners number. I text him asking if I could buy the keys.... he wasn't very impressed and wouldn't sell the keys
James “sitting in traffic and the battery dies” That’s actually a legitimate concern. Heating the car is what uses the most range. Stuck in traffic going no where for 4 hours would murder your battery. Source I owned a Peugeot e208 GT for 2 years. The final nail in the coffin for me was the insurance price was 3x that of my old mk1 Focus diesel.
If you sat traffic for 4 hours with your engine running you would murder your tank and if you only had half or quarter you'd not be getting anyway. If you turned your engine off and sat for 4 hours with the blowers on your battery would be flat so you'd not be getting anywhere.
Auctioneers can't see your proxy bid, yeah right. I have never won a car below my proxy bid at any auction venue but 'strangely' always at my max, hmmmmm?

As I need to travel more than locally, I would never have an EV, great for traving to work and back terrible for long range. A journey of over 2 or 3 hours daily can add an extra 2/4 per day if no charger at home.
If the car has been serviced by main dealer, you can request a simple print out which shows service, date and service type. It doesn't go into detail or confirms customer details or costs. However its enough to confirm the service. This worked with me and Audi anyway.
I think ive mentioned before I have a EV and absolutely love it like Liam from 3G I would never go back to a petrol or diesel car , ive been driving since 17 now 66 lost count how many cars I have owned over the years , I have my own home charger and charge on the Octopus EV tariff at now 7p per kWh between 11.30 pm and 5.30am it cost me few pounds to fully charge my car , I’ve owned my EV now 18 months there is absolutely nothing I don’t like about it , the acceleration is fantastic if you need to pull away in a hurry not that I’m a fast driver , quite the opposite so my wife, son & daughter say who all drive. Love these Podcast chats Joe and found todays very interesting listening to Liam as always keep up the good work and it’s a 👍🏻 up from me
Great podcast chaps, re auctioneers, one auction I go to always bids you up, it's so hard to buy anything if it's his turn, the other guys will take your bid, say under reserve, but this guy always takes you right up, he's definitely working for the vendors. As I point about ev battery, if your in traffic with the lights, heater and music on, wipers as well, you'll deffo run your battery down, we've all been stuck in major jams and an ev going flat in a queue of traffic isn't going to be very helpful.
thanks realy i run a little car yard in north yorkshire inspires me to do more and slowly expand my baby buisisnes keep going guy be happy to come on your show and talk about what we are up to at the moment we retale somel affordable cars and some classics sp
There's apps that allows you to delete your private data from your car.. once you connect your phone the car saves all that data. Yes ALL the data that is on your mobile😮
BMW i3 had range extenders on them , this was a scooter engine that would kick in when the battery was starting to get low . when the engine kicks in , it even sounds like a scooter engine . these where on the early i3s and a option . later on this option was dropped .
I had a brand new Model 3 performance, delivered on 1st Sep - driver put the lock on too early when reversing off the trailer. Oops ! Tesla fixed it but poor guy he was gutted.
I don’t care about the batteries in ev’s, but I do like cars that hold value, what does concern me is how much torque they have is how long other components will last, clutch & driveshafts etc
No clutch not much drive gears ⚙️ to concern yourself with. An EV charger will probably fail first. Diodes n relays might weld on an over night charge. Might have been a power surge.
I have no idea why people are so worried about GDPR. It applies to personally identifiable data. There's no reason why it should create any issues with service history.
BMW main dealers don't want paper history at all. i have put three cars into BMW as part ex or direct sale and all they want is the keys. non of them would ever take paper history. l also sold a three year old 10k miles BMW 440i grand coupe to cazoo the car had full history on the i drive and they sold it as having no history which was mental
I got offered the chance to try being an auctioneer at Alex Beith’s auctions in Glasgow, but I was so shy I ran away…. mind you I was only 5 at the time 😂
It's not a case of avoiding them, it's making sure they are/have been serviced correctly & replaced at the correct intervals. PSA group cars have them so Vauxhall & Peugeot in the 1.2s. Honda also have them in the Civics.

Interesting as always! TBH I wasn’t expecting it with this one but proved me wrong. Liam is very knowledgeable

@@Madmark50484 you obviously don’t drive an EV. Why comment. Scared?

Simple rule, buy when everyone else is selling, sell when everyone is buying.
