    I think you talked very well, I didn't get any problem at all! Also your tips with foil are just great, thanks very much!

    OK! It took me A LOT of trail and error but I think I've got the hang of it! First of all, everything I bought from Born Pretty Store was God awful. None of the foils worked. I went and bought some more glue and foil from Dollar Nail Art and everything comes out perfect. I like to apply an even coat of glue, making sure the brush is parallel to my nail ensuring the most even application. I let that dry, then apply foil. Then, I put two thin coats of Folkart Waterbase Varnish, again applying the brush vertically, letting each coat fully dry before applying the next. The finish of the waterbased paint doesn't matter. The formula of the topcoat does, however. Never use a fast dry top coat. Only use a simple clear polish. This is what I've found to be the least wrinkled I can get a foil.

      Oh shit! I just ordered a bunch from wish coming from born pretty!! 😭
      I got some other brand too tho.
      I've never once used them. I had no idea it was so hard!!
      Thanks for your tips, guess I need all the help I can get!!
      I know this vid is old, but have you used any gel glue, or gel top coat?
      Looks like I've got a lot of research to do!!
      Thanks for the help!!

    I always just add another layer of glue on top of the foil.. dry it and then top coat.

    OMG! Thank you for making this video!!! Love the technique. Seems to solve the exact problem I was having with foil. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow. :)

    Just as an fyi, bundle monster makes a water based top coat that doesn't smudge stamping or wrinkle/dull foils! Totally worth it

      Sarah Smith The varnish is much cheaper though. Hopefully the price will go down on the water base soon 😊

    thanks for the video I couldn't find the water base varnish till I saw your video TFS that's amazing . I wanted to know how long does this mani last though.

    • @jiangli3520
      @jiangli3520  8 років тому

      Hey Girl! I change my nails a lot, so for me it lasts until I am taking off. But I think it might last a day less than your normal manicurs last!

    • @sebayoutube2009
      @sebayoutube2009 8 років тому

      ok thanks but u meant a day more or could a person wear it for three days

    • @jiangli3520
      @jiangli3520  8 років тому

      Well, the lasting of manicures depends on the person bodies chermistry. My manicures usually last a week, so with the knowledge nail foil is a little more dense, I assume it would last a day less than what my normal manicures last. So six days. For example, if your manicures usually last 5 days, the foil would only last 4 days on you! And you can wear this for as long as you want, though I don't recommend wearing it longer than two weeks, but I doubt it would last that long ;)

    Robin Moses uses varnish, that's where I got the idea. I also buy craft tacky glue instead of foil glue :)

      @sherrik6546 6 років тому

      I wondered if craft tacky glue would work. It has worked for you?

    • @stateofdisorder1
      @stateofdisorder1 6 років тому +1

      Sherri K The only kind I have tried is Best Glue Ever. But it wouldn't hurt to dry hun.

      @nailartShookme 5 років тому

      SateOfDisorder, how much water do you add to your glue? I watched one of Robin Moses' old videos recently, where she mentioned mixing 50/50 ratio of Best Glue Ever with water, to use as a nail foil glue. So, I purchased some from Amazon. But, it seems too thin and runny with a 50/50 ratio. I just mixed it tonight. I added more glue. It's probably more like 25% water now. I'm waiting on my nail foils from AliExpress, so I can try it out. Also, how long do you let it dry before applying the foil? I've heard this glue needs to dry longer than other foil glues.

    can I use nail polish instead of glue ??? will it work ???

    • @jiangli3520
      @jiangli3520  7 років тому

      Hi! You could use nail polish but it is a very tricky thing to work with. The nail polish can't be too wet or it will rub off it also can't be to dry or the foil won't transfer! But give it a try 😉 TFW!

      It takes that long when painting a thick layer on a real canvas. Just a thin coat on your nails only takes 1 to 2 minutes to dry!
