Another thing i see farmertec/holzfforma has a metal clip for the throttle cable the oem had the plastic like that and was terrible about bending and breaking
On my personal saws I use locktite 515 or 518 it's a anaerobic sealer it only dries and seals up when there's no oxygen present !!! Some people don't like it , but on my customers saws I'll machine the base for a thin metal base gasket that I have made they work great, !!!
I just bought ultra grey to try on some...I thought threebond was anaerobic but not 1184...works great tho but I want to try a few...518 and right stuff as well as motoseal and dirko.....
So, the pro clone has a long way to go before it can be called acceptable. The boot looks far from good, and it makes me wonder how good the rest of the internals are !
@James.Chironomidae it ran, oiled and cut wood as delivered but I did have to put an ignition switch on it and a felling dog was bent. It also would tend to die at idle tho it would restart after a pull or 2 … As far as increasing the performance I’d say without oem upgraded components (especially the spark plug, coil and carburetor) it’s really not suited for anything more than a pipe. Biggest issue is the carburetor, maybe I just got a lemon 🍋 however the individual I purchased the saw from is refusing to make good. He did offer to buy the saw back and I’d be glad to sell it back to him for $700 with all the oem upgrades installed plus my time / labor 😎
You would think 🤔 … I could be mistaken but all the intake / carb components look similar to the farmertec I built a few years back. It IS a sharp looking saw tho and does run / cut / oil as delivered . Feels good in the hands … I’m spoiled with all these zipped and piped saws that I have tho - I guess ANY stock saw is going to a disappointment 🤣
Definitely get the OEM intake boot and replace that white plastic throttle cable bracket with an AM aluminum throttle cable bracket. I prefer a base gasket. And why in the hell is there a hose clamp on the boot???? Where is the actual clamp???
@fabzacres-blackcat it's nothing new with Chinese saws... they have their inherent issues and some parts should be swapped for oem EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. lol
@@wayneanderson991 yah, if you want to buy/sell for a profit that’s fine and is your right to do so … however we should have everything up to snuff from the get go! MotoSeal is likely the gray sealer and wayyy too much of it. Also the impulse looks like it’s kinked or going to kink.

I myself want to try alum or copper after annealing only as a test I've heard it works good...and it's very thin
@@brandonf1226 I have made and use copper gaskets on saws and they work just fine.
That’s what I use and they work very well - I can adjust the port heights/squish / compression by varying the thickness of the gasket
@@wayneanderson991 nice....I'd like the thinnest ..dukes is out of the thinner atm that had me lookin
Add a true echo style tank vent....look at this and its deadheaded in that hole
We put a base gasket in every single saw we build

@@fabzacres-blackcat Yep, I agree, it is advertised as pro quality though.
And then you really shouldn't have to change the carb, and boot.

That intake boot clamp(worm clamp) is not the proper clamp for this saw. Just another cheap shortcut on a clone saw from Steve.

I don't understand this goofy Chinese chainsaw fad. ALL materials and mfg quality will be inferior to a quality saw. You get what you pay for.
It's like playing the lottery... once in a while, you'll get a winner...
