I am myself a Kashmiri Pandit. My parents used to tell me about this incident and every time i hear this it gives me goosebumps. Many KPs were forced to get converted but they refused, because of which they got killed during this incident. This thing has drastically reduced the population of the Kashmiri Pandits. We people have suffered a lot politically as well as culturally but yet we exist and we have established ourselves. Jai Bharat!!!

Your ancestors were Kashmiri Pandits too. With the surname of Bhatt. But later maybe either willfully or forcefully converted. I wish you a happy life. But never forget about your roots. I am kashmiri Pandit, thankfully my family left in the 19/20th century, only to face similar things in 1947, however I know a few people in my community who are KAshmiri Pandits that lost their grandfather, and 2 other family members. When people say this is a propaganda film, I wanna ask if this is propaganda why are some of you are inclined to believe in Holocaust, Palestine, Ugyhurs, Hotel rwanda, or anyother film or documentary about similar events, what about Hindu or Indian people suffering makes it different from the others to you?
I can only say Im deeply sorry as a Hindu, not knowing any of this genocide, and not standing up and giving a helping hand to the Kashmiri hindus when this occurred. I hope Bharat never has to see any further massacres and genocides like this ever again. Hindus have to WAKE up and never let these atrocities happen EVER again. My father who is 76 today, told me yesterday for the first time, that when he was 1 yrs old born in Lahore (in 1947), his father (my grandfather), told my grandmother to take my 1 yr old father and his sisters to my grandmothers fathers place as he was being threatened by his servants to leave Lahore or be killed. My grandmother took a horse buggy and took my father and his sisters to a safe place and they came to Amritsar during partition. this Kashmiri hindu genocide is EXACTLY the same what people during Indian partition faced. Never FORGET and NEVER let this happen again. I sincerely wish Indians wake up ASAP. understand the enemy is very cunning and puts layers of deception with a false history to confuse young minds. Realize that this genocide is STILL occurring in India! What would any Indian do, when this happens in a metro and in the middle of the night you are told to leave with your life's belongings, loved ones or be killed!!! WAKE UP!

Thank you for sharing your views on Kasmir Files. I want to tell you that I am a Kashmiri pandit and I remember that it was 13 of Feb 1990 when we left our motherland Kashmir. I was only 10 years old. I also remember that on the same day we receive a letter from JKLF threatening us to leave Kashmir. On the day midnight we left the valley. But we know Kashmir is incomplete without us. One day we come to Kashmir again with dignity and honor and the people of Kashmir welcome us with open arms and Joy.

During 1947 India's partition , my grandfather had to run for his life only in his clothes and 3-4 gold coins which he managed to take from his drawer, with family to Karachi seaport for India, leaving everything there.
I have heard this story from my grandmother. But, neither those Hindus nor Kashmiri pandit Hindus picked up guns in their hands. Infact, they faced the horrible situation bravely with tears in their eyes. Still there are thousands of Kashmiri Hindu families even after 30 years who are still financially weak, without proper care of Indian government.
I appreciate your honest opinion here. The honesty is more relevant after 75 years of independence.
