Very helpful. I used to be a SP administrator before MS Teams existed. How they integrate has been a mystery to me. I suspected they were related in some way but I just have used MS Teams to chat with people. AM just learning there is much more.
This is the video I have been searching for!! SUPERB video. You answered my many questions, and explained the concepts so well. Many thanks, Sir. I'm actually surprised there aren't more views.
Excellent video and demonstration. perfect timing too as I have to explain some of these details this week, so will certainly point team to this video. Thank you Daniel very much appreciated.😀
Hello Daniel - Thank you for this video. It is really informative. I'm wondering if you have any advice on the following: I have a Team and associated SharePoint Site. Currently I am the only Teams member and all other people are added via the SharePoint permissions function. Within the SharePoint Site I have specifically applied permissions on some folders whereby some people can VIEW only folders and some people can EDIT folders and some people can't view the folders at all. Now our business has a need to add people to the associated Teams site so they can use the Task assignment functionality. I decided to add a link of that document library to the associated Team, the SharePoint permissions are totally voided and ANYONE that is a 'Member' of the Teams has full access if accessing via the Teams interface, but SharePoint permissions if access via SharePoint. I would like it to be that the folder permissions set in SharePoint and carried over when linked to Teams. Is this possible?
when you changed "end of year reporting" to "end of year reports" it moved from the "In channels" to the "in site library" section of sharepoint. Why is this?
Is there a difference between a SharePoint site that is created with a Team, and a Team Site created in SharePoint? Is there a difference in the URL? My SharePoint site in Teams have "teams" in the URL and my Team Site in SharePoint has "Sites" in the URL. Is there any difference? My Admin team above me seems to think that when you create a "Team" site in SharePoint it will have the "teams" in the URL, and when you "Communication" site in SharePoint it will have "Sites" in the URL. This is somewhat confusing and I believe incorrect.
Microsoft Teams will become the standard for file access for organisations embracing full cloud domain architecture. Especially given the alternative is OneDrive, which cannot scale given it needs to index everything in order to work, at a massive cost to clientside performance.
Oh, you really save me now! I was totally lost, now I found myself! Thank you very much!
Glad I could help!

Super useful information, well explained.
Great video. Excellent explanation. This is a huge help! You could help by just slowing down the speed of delivery a touch. 🙂

Thank you! It is much clearer to me now. The video was very informative, and the comparison was especially helpful.

Any videos on how to add a notification when posting a bulletin in the team channel?
Thank You!
Can you explain what happens if you delete a Teams Channel to the folder in SharePoint? Thank you.
How is the link to the several teams in Teams? Howdo I see the teams in SharePoint?
good explanation . i am a 365 admin and i only sort of understood it
It is my understanding that SharePoint is going away in July 2025. How will Teams work once this is no longer an integrated platform?
why make things so complicated...
Microsoft know how to make it complicated
Not good very confusing and you do not show where is the Sales and marketing Team on your teams.
