I'm not a fan of having to find a crowbar and bolt cutter on each level. But I like the huge levels. It really gives you options in how to proceed on the objectives.
I mean you can do most of the things those are used for with either your hands or armor peircing rounds, apart from certain mission objectives where a crowbar is within 20 meters of the objective
Spy academy is the best map to practice your sniping. Right after spawn stop before you slide down to the beach trail. You can easily spot over 20 enemies and a few over 400m.
My only complaint for SE5 compared to SE4 is they heavily reduced all the traps you could carry. You no longer get trip mines or S-mines. Additional there are significantly less enemies with grenades attached to their belts.
Another important invasion tip that gives you a massive advantage as the invaded player. You do not need to use phones. If you press focus itll show you the direction of the player up until they are within I believe 100 yards. So you know which direction they are and whether they are close enough to be a problem. Once you see the direction indicate they are close you know to pay attention
This game is the best entertainment investment I've made in the last 20 years. When you get tired of chasing objectives, you can always just mess with the AI and enjoy it just as much. Something is sweet about laying a mine or two for a guard patrol or taking down a tank with armor piercing bullets. It's like playing in a sand box. (grin)
Things that aren't clear that I found are: Suppressors are actually suppressors in game, not silencers. Meaning they still make a noise that enemies can hear. I B-lined the suppressor upgrade for my stealth run only to find enemies still went on alert after my first shot. Also: shot placement matters, if you shoot a guy in the foot, he will be downed not dead. His friends also will try to save him and get him to cover, meaning you can down an enemy and pick off his friends as they try to save him.
my biggest tip was using the 1903 as my main weapon as it is by far the most quite rifle...meaning that if I was shooting someone over 100 yards away the guards wouldn't actually hear the retort to go cautious even with normal ammo in it. sound range is a huge factor in this game, and being quieter can be more helpful than having the most stopping power... especially if you're hitting x-rays for the bonus damage
I enjoyed this game immensely, but I encountered quite a few glitches my first time through. It was nice to be Karl again. I was surprised how well the enemies fight hand to hand if they are aware you are attacking, and also by how many time you need to shoot someone with a 45 if you don’t get a headshot. I’ve hit guys 6 times without them going down. This game really loves zip lines. I really like some of the changes. I love that silencers don’t completely silence your weapons, and that the Nazis are much more aggressive if your cover is blown. I had no idea you could knock guys out with a bottle!
I started off on 3, wasn't thrilled. Went to 4 and the hours I've logged on that game are insane. When I found out 5 was for sure a thing, I was so excited.
I just 100%'d the entire game. Authentic and all, and I didn't know either. I'm surprised I didn't try it myself. MGS:V had empty mag bonking, I should've tried it in this game.
Whenever you see it, treasure the flare gun, carry it with you, remember where you drop it, go back and carry it forward... it will obliterate everything with close artillery support. Bye Bye Tanks.
I’ve had problems not being able to pick up, or having specialty weapons like that disappear after I drop them. So I leave them in the crate until I’m ready to use them. Yes, the flare gun is my favorite toy.
Do the DLC Mission when you have silencers on all three gun types, (it doesn't spoil the campaign) and completing the mission badges and farming the Target is a huge amount of experience for leveling up and getting Skills unlocked. The workbenches on the map have unlisted upgrades (at the time I played it due to a bug) that are OP too.
I took a leisurely ten hours, and not one enemy was moving before I got on the boat. Doubled up on some routes a few times, searching for the workbenches, figuring out the mines on the beach
I’m enjoying the game so far it still feels a bit janky like previous games but it’s definitely the best one to date I feel. I’m playing it on gamepass too so that makes it even better. I doubt I’d pay full price for it tho
I liked 4 better 🤔 This one has so many bugs for me and it’s a bit more open map than 4 which makes the enemies more spread out I can’t put my finger on it but something feels off for me and 4 was more fun imo
The enemies don't seem to notice explosions of equipment. In the first mission I blew up the artillery canon (the big one that supposedly took out the sub) without killing a single enemy outside and not one enemy even went into Cautious, let alone veered from their normal patrolling routes.
Same with destroying the radio towers. But, when I destroyed the second AA gun in the Wolf Mountain mission the NPCs in the next area alerted to it and came running over.
I found that the AI seemed to know at what moment I was searching a body. I tested this a number of times by waiting to search a body to see if the enemy would come after me before I started searching a body. Turned out that they would come after me quite often just after I started searching a body but seemed to wait when I wasn't.
Something you need to know about the workbenches is that if your coop friend finds one, it will notify you that you found one, but you infact, did not. You need to activate it for yourself before it recognizes that you found one. There are all kinds of unlocks for doing that. Found that one out the hard way.
I leapt over a small wall and fell through 6 stories of off-map and landed on the support pillar of the resistance cache in Spy academy. First time I've seen the map glitch like that. Luckily I could step off the pillar and into the room. Phew!
This was really helpful thanks. I'm having a lot of fun with the game but there were definitely a few things I had no clue about, like changing the range and useful bottles are. But fundamentally how axis invasion works. I decided not to mess with that until I've gotten better at the game, I'm kinda average right now and still learning.
Didn't notice the firecrackers on the nonlethal mines until well into my second play through. Excellent way to pull people out of position even if they don't find the mine.
I did a full stealth run first time in authentic difficulty. It was fun. Although, I did not get the 100% stealth, but it was like 80%. missed some points for people noticing the deadbodies.
I just got it so playing the fire campaign mission and being able to see enemies through walls and shoot them through the wall gives me those assassin creed vibes
Day 2 and it’s honestly a pleasant experience I’ve only run into one groundbreaking bug in which you reload infinitely other than that it’s very very fun feels like a game Ive been needing and wanting and never knew it was even coming🙌🏾
Me too! It threw me off with my strategy to complete the missions cause i like playing stealthy and was forced to run and hide and took my attention off the mission itself. Fun first couple times but got annoying so i turned it off
Played mission 2 occupied residence and found a panzerfaust while being invaded. I saw in focus someone wasn't behaving like an AI so I went to a window and blew him up.
Trust me, learn how to do invasions, and how to beat invaders (some good tips on YT), it really makes the game 10x better. If an invader kills you you can reload almost instantly from the point the invasion started so you lose nothing. I hated invasions at first, now i play on hard and hope i get invaded!
You talking about the 1911 with all those upgrades, back in my day when Halo 1 released we called it the “Pocket Rifle” The Silenced Glock in Black by Criterion was also an excellent “Pocket Rifle”
I played survival in authentic mode and was shocked of the realsim when you reload and it have bullets left in the mag they will get wasted. In the first round I was empty after like 2 min haha.
That's not realistic, lol, if you have bullets left in a mag in real life they will be there when you reload unless you meant something else, kinda hard to make sense of it
While playing yesterday I learned that triple kills are possible with one match grade round. I knew about one-round double kills but never considered triple kills were possible since with regular rounds the second guy sometimes needs a second shot to finish him.
The most frustrating part is when I get invaded back to back while I’m stuck hiding while the late game enemies are surrounding my position. I got invaded 4 times back to back in mission 8 while I was at the church all within 7-8 minutes, I killed 3 of the invaders the last one got me.
That was one of my favorite things to do in the previous games but in this one I’m having trouble finding enemies that have them on their belts. I guess they learned from their mistakes😆
Honestly, I didn't know quick reload and the windage/ drop indicators were a thing till the Wolf Mountain DLC while I was making my way to Exfiltrate. In other words, I offed the most hated man in the world before finding out you can dial in your shots without using Empty Lung
Wait that's actually cool that the game kills you if you camp during an axis invasion. I'm always on the move when I invade someone so I never get that warning Edit: Just got this game like last week or something and this popped up on my recommended today and I wanted to look at it.
for those people in ps4 or ps5 where they accidently go left hand side mode to switch modes aim and press the traingle button while holding the aim button or L2 (hold) + triangle

They should also add different military branches, the SS, Gestapo, and Feltgendarmerie to spice up the types of enemies you can come across. This game has sooo much potential than to be just another sneaky mass murderer game.
I remember my first game when I had no idea what to do, and then I got invaded… I spent half of the game hiding in tall grass in a corner of the map 3:01
Another way to shoulder aim on console is to press A(x on ps) whilst aiming. Also if you continue holding the fire button with bolt action rifles after a shot you won't rechamber a shot until you release it allowing you to easier track where shots are landing
Better than SE4 but not as good as SE3. I absolutely hate the Melee and action key being the same. There's a lot of places you get stuck in and have to restart the game from last save. Picking up items is a nightmare as you have to be in the exact spot to do so. The sandbox is awful for getting stuck on branches. It has a few bugs but other than that it's OK. SE 3 will always be my favourite. I did however complete the 1st mission a second time by only using melee. :-)
Anyone know what the record player does? A couple tips I didn't know at first: You can switch ammo, for quiet shots you need the quiet bullets. The TNT can be switched to timed. Watch for the zip lines. I thought picking up a weapon dropped the one you started with. I was reluctant to grab any weapons even though I was almost out of ammo. Wish you could keep the weapons you find. I'm always losing them in the tall grass.
I always thought switching on the record player helps you soundmasking your footsteps in the area of a building so that you can move faster without being detected.
something else to remember is that it's not required to stealth run this game it doesn't punish you for being a loud proud american it's even harder some might say
I'm not a fan of having to find a crowbar and bolt cutter on each level. But I like the huge levels. It really gives you options in how to proceed on the objectives.

I just started this game, how in the world do you shoulder swap / aim over the shoulder?
I’ve tried everything and nothing works.
Console: Slightly hold the aim button for Shoulder Aiming
While aiming, press 🔼 triangle to Shoulder Swap
Pc: I honestly don’t know
@@sparky7523 on pc, you press the scroll wheel
A couple tips I didn't know at first:
You can switch ammo, for quiet shots you need the quiet bullets. The TNT can be switched to timed.
Watch for the zip lines.
I thought picking up a weapon dropped the one you started with. I was reluctant to grab any weapons even though I was almost out of ammo.
Wish you could keep the weapons you find. I'm always losing them in the tall grass.
I always thought switching on the record player helps you soundmasking your footsteps in the area of a building so that you can move faster without being detected.
he used a satchel charge on the tunnel entrance when he had the key
something else to remember is that it's not required to stealth run this game it doesn't punish you for being a loud proud american it's even harder some might say
Bottles can take out two guards standing next to each other
shows footage of him failing to do just that lol
