People often praise Type 3 and 4a hair but kinky (some used to use the term "nappy") hair is definitely demonized. It doesn't hang, it doesn't bounce. It doesn't behave to their expectations
Facts, they dislike the fact that kinky hair does not "behave" in the way that society expects hair to be. Hopefully, as more people go natural, others will begin to realize that kinky hair is beautiful in its natural state!
Flat ironing perms and texturizers our mom’s used to put in our hair as a child to make it more manageable and more appealing all while it’s damaging our hair I never noticed until now that it is as a form of self hate and Underappreciation for our kinky 4c hair and it’s apart of that European Beauty as well to fit the standard of beauty it’s so FUCKING CRAZY 😢😪
it’s sad how our natural hair is only considered “presentable” when it’s straightened . also i finds it weird how our hair is only considered “neat” when it’s in braids , when it’s covered up….. and even our own moms tell us we need to get our hair done and without the extensions , we are “homeless-looking” i am trying to do a natural hair rebellion.
My hair is curl type 3a and 3b and it doesn’t take an effort to pull out/lay my edges, they are naturally there. Don’t think we go through what more curly girls go through. I can leave the house with conditioned wet hair pulled back into a ponytail, have natural edges and look very “presentable”for most activities. Think you want to be inclusive but it’s easy to blow dry hair straight and sleek (it takes me 20 minutes) with this curl pattern and the edges lay naturally.
What about the girls with kinky, thin hair? That’s a thing too. We can’t wear a lot of the natural styles because they only look good on people with a lot of hair. And longer hair. I’d rather slap on a wig. It’s less work but I don’t like that it portrays that I don’t love myself as much. I just don’t know how to work with it. 🤷🏽♀️

It doesn’t hand but it definitely bounces up and down 😂

I can't even lay my baby hairs...I got grown folk hairs. 😅🤣
Can we please reevaluate this hair typing system?
You were made perfect, period

Subsribed!
How come you don't talk about 4d hair?
No such thing tbh. I don’t believe in this hair typing system because our hairs is unique, everyone’s hair is, but what matters most is hair porosity
Do you men 4b?
Perms make your hair curly not straight
you must have straight hair... it makes straight hair curly and curly hair straight
I'm Black but I thought Perms makes your hair curly while a relaxer makes your hair chemically straight. I'll have to Google the difference, if any.
@@zari2662 some people consider perms and relaxers as the same thing... but I get what you’re saying now!!
In the black community we call them either perms or relaxers. It's just what we do i guess not sure why though🤷
