Never be shy to back an English player Tim if you feel it's justified! Nobody on earth can accuse you of being unfair in your commentary! Great video once again, thanks!
Flament down is crazy he did a superb champions cup and top 14 play offs . He is the most technical 5 in the game and can play 6. You can see the difference for France in 6 nations when he was absent against Ireland and Scotland
Dear Tim, relishing each time each your videos, I can tell you-as a Frenchman (which says something)-you can be and you are indeed very objective, whilst being a proud Englishman. I'm a big fan of your work.
Hi Tim, I agree with your take on Itoje, he was arguably the best player on the park against NZ even with all the penalties against him. Massive impact
@EggchasersRugby he is genuinely Ireland's best forward and possibly Leinster's biggest let go, hate to think how many ccs we would have if we had never let him go 😅.
As a kiwi here, I have to agree about the assessment of Itoje. He played incredibly well in the two tests against the ABs here in NZ. It will be interesting to see how he goes in the end of year test matches.
Hi Tim, a bit of an aside here... you are clearly a busy man doing all these player power rankings, and a fine job you are doing. But as an open-minded sports fan, I would welcome your opinion (and those of other subscribers to your channel) on a final I've just watched on BBC iPlayer... not rugby, but hurling. The All-Ireland Hurling Final was played on 21st July by two teams of amateurs representing their home counties of Clare and Cork, in front of 70,000 fanatics at Croke Park. If you want to see where the Irish get their passion from, watch this. I won't tell you the result, but this is probably one of the most epic finals of any team sport you will ever see. In doubt to the last second. I have to admit, I moved the slider a few times back and forward to catch the goals (worth three points) rather than all the single points over the bar. But just watch what the Clare number 10 does in some of their scores. He looked like Messi and Dupont rolled into one at times, in his own sport. And what a mental game. Got to be the fastest moving team sport in the world, over an absolutely massive pitch. And again, these guys are AMATEURS. Take a look, you won't regret it. Head-height hockey, and god only knows what the rules are - there hardly seem to be any!
Maro Itoje warrants your very unbiased comments, he’s scary! Love how much you appreciate Tadgh Beirne, he often looks exhausted and like he is plodding around, and then he can turn it on and do something brilliant! Love him to bits!,
Loving the power rankings 👍🏻 Your channel has become a staple and you’re one of 5 podcasts I follow daily. Pity you’re not hanging around for the Bok V Argentina game at the Mbombela stadium… a breeding ground of greats such as Duane Vermuelen , Faf De Klerk, Trevor Nkanye & Vincent Koch. Some locals would look after you properly here 😂 🍻. Cheers Bru !
I agree on Maro Itoje. In fact, I think that his form really turned for the better, in the WC semi final against the boks. Don't over compensate because you're English. I think that right now, Maro could easily be at the top of your list.
He was also immense against the All Blacks. He always plays well against us (Springboks) which means I love to hate him lol, but cannot help admire and respect the player.
Finally! 50 players in and we have some Sarries boys 😆 interesting list, intrigued to see the Lions XV - Beirne and Itoje both seemingly have to be picked

Good list! South Africa have to refresh their tight 5. We saw this in the 2nd test against Ireland and in the test against France last year. Names are beginning to come through.
I'm a kiwi but Scott barrett is ranked way to high after a terrible series against England was the worst of our locks on display. Never even called a single lineout to himself in the 2nd test. Tuipoluti had to do all the ball carrying as he Barrett always positioned himself 3 wide of ruck. At his best no way Barrett is ahead of Mostert. I think Mostert is no 1 otherwise solid list

Just wish that the majority of NZ rugby pundits would realize that there are rugby players outside of New Zealand, too, who are as good as (and in many cases, better than their All Black counterparts.
Great list, Tim! Scary giants once again. Don't think i cabn disagree with the order. There's such competion in rugby atm. All these players could change a lot on a week by week basis. Tadgh is special & runs on uranium from what I've heard.
Great list. For the Lions next year it's a mouthwatering prospect to have McCarthy and Itoje in the engine room with Beirne at 6, Willis at 7 and Doris at 8.
I'm with you on Itoje, but it remains to be seen if he can continue the good form. certainly belongs on your list. Interestingly, Loose Head Lock is the first position not to have two South Africans in your top 10 - amazing depth in their front five!
Lukhan Salakia-Loto seems to be Joe Schmidt's preference, discipline may be a work on but his time at Franklin's Gardens showed me he is an elite operator.
for me they take 4: McCarthy, Itoje, Martin and Beirne as the latter is equally as good at 6. Harsh on Ryan (again) admittedly but there is so much quality in this position.
@@rustyfeatherstone93 they took 6 the last lions tour. If they go 6 again I'm going with Beirne, Itoje, Ryan at the LH lock. McCarthy, Martin and Rowlands. Really well balanced
Unsure how Mostert, Flament and Itoje are below Barrett. Nz lineout was very poor v England, and as you said, he played stuff all mins for Cruz. From a nz perspective, I'm hoping for more but ATM I'm think he's had one stellar season, 2023 which seems a little light to be no2 on the list
I try to make these lists take longer term form into account so it doesn't just become a list of who played best in the most recent games. As much as anything, NH and SH play most games at different ends of the year which would make that less meaningful. Longer term form factors into it. Itoje, as I say, is tracking towards the top of he continues. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏🏼
