I remember watching it on the 📺 as it was happening. They had tornado threats when I was in the hospital ( rehabilitation center) learning how to walk, feed myself and other things due to a bad car accident that left me severely disabled.
I ate lunch in that Gaylord Entertainment office building, almost every day for a few years. Hotel chefs prepared a delicious multi-course lunch, and it was sold to us employees at cost -- maybe 2-1/2 or 3 bucks. Beverage included. Dessert extra. Yup, I did put on some serious pounds during my WSM years! Tried to dodge the tornado by heading out to the hotel. But as we rounded the bend on the road to Opryland, here came the funnel! So I did a movie-style 180° and headed to the airport instead.
I remember that day. I worked close to rivergate mall. Scary day
I moved there in 97 ..I remember this one .Toll booths down town were ripped up and thrown around like toys on the ground
I had just moved there in 97 as well. I had just left channel 5 I worked there. That was one for the books.

@@shannongreenwell1278 I hope you are doing well now Ms Shannon. ♥
Isn't it strange how the Reserved cars got totaled and the handicapped cars were left untouched.???????
