- For my final Irish story, I visit Cahersiveen where there are some Stone Forts that may well been the home of my Shea ancestors. I also revisit Knocknabar Mountain, where on an earlier trip to Ireland I heard an interesting story about Celtic traditions and lost sheepdogs.

@LordHannigan I agree with you. Beautiful country, friendliest people in the world. I'd like to go back there too. Maybe one day.
yes, it is worth it for thousand times. But i surely recommend taking all day - from morning to evening. I made a dreadful mistake of thinking i have a lot of time and went late after lunch. Now i am planning to go again to take a relaxed and long walk-around at special spots.
It was nice to see someone appreciative of the area - I grew up on Knocknadtobar and I don't always see it in such a positive light - far away hills are greener and all that
Villeneuve27: I have been to several places in Europe before, but I was amazed by the beauty of the Ring of Kerry... :) We drove from Dublin as well, we slept in Killarney, visited the National Park and then we completed the ring in 2 days because we did not want to miss anything. :) We completed the Skellig Ring as well, that was also awesome. :)
great video
I was there just a few days before.
My dream is to visit Ireland...
Thanks for info Tip. Believe it or not, I have met a chef in Melbourne whose family came from around the area. So I even have the correct pronunciation :) Will make changes for my Ireland dvd
I 'm a local and its Knocnadtobar not Knocnabar - Knock = hill Na = of the Dtobar = Well i.e hill of the wells (as in springs).
I just love Ireland and everything Irish. I know I am not from Ireland and I guess I'm a plastic paddy. But I truly love Ireland been twice I could go a billion times if only I had that much time. I don't know the country side the people the stories the people tell about the country side. God there isn't a better story teller then a person thats Irish. I'm sorry I'm not trying to sound like I know everything cause honestly I don't know anything. All I do know is I hope I can die in Ireland.
1:44 lmao steady on mate
@LordHannigan ......you sound just like me and the words you've written above i've said many times over!! Bless u
I come from the McGrath family in Ireland, I was born in America so I guess I'm American by birth but In my veins run Irish blood, Call me what you like but in my heart I'm Irish nobody can take that away from me,
Where you're born and where you originate from are 2 entirely different things... so no, no one can take that away from you, Irishman! ;)
I was born in Canada.. O'Connor.. heard conflicting stories in my family though.. stories about being related to the last high king of Ireland (Turlough O'Connor) and about family from Connaught and Kerry.. wish I knew the truth.
You'll like the images of this region of the world in SW corner of Ireland...on facebook.com/SkelligKerry. PS half our family is also O'Shea
food is great, don't let anyone tell you different
u climbed knocknabar...no way!!! :)
i do know one thing.. I'm definately more Celt than anything else.. people usually take me for Italian or Portuguese... but the real celts were dark.
